I just don't think there will ever be anybody like him ever again...the charisma, the VOICE!, the style, the pure talent to wow the crowd, write, play(piano and guitar)and the energy of 5 people. What a cruel joke to have to leave the world so young. If you haven't done "Killer Queen" then you better hop on it. It's great. I promise.
Loved your reaction, thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed the performance. It was truly a fantastic performance but this is from their 22 min set at Live Aid in 1985. I strongly recommend you watch the entire 22 min performance as a whole. It is still today considered the best live rock performance ever. When you split the Queen performances of Live Aid into single one song reactions, you're not able to appreciate the magic that happened that day. Yes, every song they did was fantastic but it was the non-stop hit after hit after hit along with the crowd's reaction that truly made their set stand out from every other live performance from the beginning of time. it was broadcast to a television viewing audience of 1.5 to 1.9 billion, depending on the source, all over the world. You simply cannot experience how great it was without watching the entire performance as a whole back-to-back and letting yourself feel and take in everything. People will watch the entire reaction with you but if you don't want to do one that long, I'd encourage you to watch it on your own time because there really was magic that day and everyone should watch the entire performance at least once to experience the magic. It's just that good. When you are watching it, keep in mind they only had a certain amount of time on stage because of how many bands were performing that day. It was a huge satellite event. A band in London would perform their set then they would throw it live to the U.S. for 20 min. while the next act in London set up then they would throw it back to London. They also had similar venues in other countries around the world they would sometimes toss to. There is a stop-light at the front of the stage which you'll be able to see in certain shots. They were told when the light turned yellow, they needed to wrap it up because when it turned red, the power would be cut off so there was a lot of pressure to finish on-time.
I saw Queen live and I don't think I will ever see anyone command a stage the way Freddie did again. Greg, you have the most beautiful smile, it lights up your entire face!
Freddie LOVED music, LOVED performing, LOVED writing music and LOVED his fans and he didn't take any of it lightly and if anyone around him did, then he got them out of his life. He was one of the most dedicated artist of all time.
I always wonder when I hear this song how many people get one line of the lyrics. "Through wars of worlds, invaded by Mars" refers to the famous incident in 1938 where Orson Welles created pandemonium by re-doing the Sci Fi story, War of the Worlds, as a newscast. He had an awful lot of people listening on the radio who thought we were actually being invaded by extraterrestrials. :)
Freddie was performing against his doctor's orders during this concert (Live Aid) because he had a throat infection. He said it felt like he was gargling glass when he sang.
Radio Ga Ga was one of six songs performed by Queen at Live Aid 1985. Each artist was given 20 min to perform their hits, so to speak. Queen took it seriously rehearsing to make sure their set list was exactly 20 min. 👉 Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga, Hammer To Fall, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Will Rock you, & We Are The Champions!! I recommend the full Queen set list .. brilliant.
1.5 billion people watched that performance live--from Wembley Stadium in London (72,000), JFK Stadium in Philadelphia (89,000), or on TV in bars all over the world. Queen's performance is essentially considered the best set of all of the over 75 acts that played LiveAid. I was 15 then, and had 3 people in front of me in line at Ticketmaster when the Philly show sold out. I've never gotten over it.
easy one of the top 5 frontmen of all time. he had all the charisma in the world, he could grab everyone's attention with just a pair of jeans and a white shirt on and a amazing voice and reach.
You have no idea how happy it makes me, when Freddie and the boys put a smile on people's faces and their eyes start to light up.❣I have been following your Queen reactions for a while, I am gonna smash that subscribe button now!☮Thank you.
Your comment about always being ON I just went to the North American Queen convention (Aug 2022) and Peter Freestone (Freddie's personal assistant) said that near the end of his touring days he'd be dressed ready for the show but looking limp like a rag doll and 2 people woul essentially carry Freddie to the spot he needs to be right before he goes on (still being limp-like) and the moment he heard his opening notes (cue to go on stage) he'd spring to life. What this says is - He gave it ALL to the stage and audience every single time!!!!❤️
THANK YOU FOR THE REACTION💕 ….Even tho I love this song from Live Aid… I find this specific clip you reacted to, to be quite frustrating… because it cuts OFF just before the BEST PART. (Not your fault, of course.)
You missed the best part, so watch the whole Live Aid set. You must keep in mind that the crowd (Live Aid) even didn't know they were coming, because Queen were added to the list when all the tickets were sold out. THIS WAS NOT A QUEEN CROWD BUT STILL THEY STOLE THE SHOW. Freddie commanded the crowd at 2 stadiums simultaneously (Wembley and Philadelphia) and HAD THEM IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND. Queen's performance at Live Aid is voted MOST ICONIC festiwal moment in music history. BTW Radio Ga Ga = Lady Gaga ,she is a huge Queen fan
Your title 'I wish I had his energy' ... this performance in 1985 was just 59 days after Queen's 9 month tour often having 3 night straight performances. Doctor's orders were for Freddie to rest his vocal cords (for months) and he went on against Dr advice.
This is where Lady Gaga got her name from. This was the 3 or 4 song from a live performance at Wimbledon. It was a benefit for Africa. It was televised world wide. After the London concert ended the Philadelphia concert began. You should do the whole performance. His md advised him not to sing because he had strep throat.
Please react to Queens entire Live aid performance. This is just one song from it. They performed parts of 6 songs in their live aid performance. Theirs has been called the best live rock performance.
This was such an amazing performance, seeing he was so sick when he did this. He had recently been dianogsed with Hiv/Aids and only informed the band members not long before this. He had been having trouble with his voice and they werent sure he was gonna be able to perform
This song was about when music went from on the radio... over to video on Mtv. We kind of said goodbye to music on the radio and all watched it on video constantly back then (when Mtv only played music videos). It was so awesome. Good times ❤️
This song was a reaction to MTV where videos became more important than the music and lyrics. Radio was pure. Funny how the nursing home is gonna sound when I get there. Lol
Roger Taylor the drummer wrote this song about the video age coming in & people watching rather than listening to the music on the radio x I know it’s hard but you really need to look beyond Freddie at the amazing band also on the stage giving Freddie the music to sing to & be the amazing front man that he was Roger’s powerful backing vocals & drumming Brian shredding the lead guitar & John with his brilliant bass playing keeping the rhythm going along with Roger’s drums x keep up the good work loving the Queen reactions x
Queen upped the game for every other band that day. Some were turning out rather lackluster performances after having hardly rehearsed for their segments, and Queen went out and gave the audience a top-notch show. The remaining bands had to try to equal the energy. This was just one great song they did that day.
I just don't think there will ever be anybody like him ever again...the charisma, the VOICE!, the style, the pure talent to wow the crowd, write, play(piano and guitar)and the energy of 5 people. No there won't be. Only one Freddie. Only one queen.
A natural talent.
Irreplaceable
Freddie was the greatest front man in history. He could hold a microphone in one hand and 75,000 people in the other.
Lady Gaga took her name from this song. She loved Queen & Roger the drummer wrote this. 🤘💥💥
i was there this day in History when Freddie held the world in in hands for 21 mins
Lucky.❤
You can't go wrong with Queen! They were one of a kind!
I miss Freddie, thanks, young dude ❤️
Classic Freddie Mercury. Genius how he controls and draws a crowd in.🥰
I can’t think of anyone that looks more comfortable on a stage. He comes to life.

Agreed!❤
It's called charisma baby

I think this was just before he passed. He was so sick but came out and killed it. RIP Freddie.
He died six years later but was recovering from laryngitis so was advised by his medics to rest his voice. He ignored them and history was made.
Yeah the film was highly inaccurate. This was in 1985. I don’t even think he’d been diagnosed yet.
It is impossible not to fall in love with Freddie...
Freddie was performing against his doctor's orders during this concert (Live Aid) because he had a throat infection. He said it felt like he was gargling glass when he sang.
Best live performer of all times. NOBODY can match up to Freddy he rocked the stadiums like no other, his energy was explosive 💥🔥💥🔥💥

So many ways to go with Quee,, love songs like Love of My Life and You Take My Breath Away, or serious like Who Wants to Live Forever. What a choice.
His presence was just enormous! And everybody was there to have a good time.
Queen was by far the most nervous backstage. Then they come out and give the best live performance of all time!!
So sad seeing this one of his last performances. He was a genius
Freddie died in 1991 and Live Aid was in 1985. Please don’t use the film as a guide, it’s highly inaccurate.
@@daniellemaines4874 Queen’s last tour was in 1986 so unfortunately this was indeed one of their ast performances.

Love this. But much more if the whole of Live Aid and not just one vid from it...Queen as always...
Wait till you get to the opera! That’ll really blow your mind!
There will NEVER be another Freddie!! RIP

The entire band is always on fire. This is a Roger Taylor song by the way. And Roger's drumming and backing vocals are epic
This moment.. this song.. for me, it's the Queen apogee 👌
The song was written by Roger when his toddler son was making goo-goo and Ga-Ga sounds to the music playing on the radio
Great Reaction. I suggest you watch the full set of Queen. Freddie interacting with the audience is amazing. He always do that. Thanks
You missed the best part, so watch the whole Live Aid set. You must keep in mind that the crowd (Live Aid) even didn't know they were coming, because Queen were added to the list when all the tickets were sold out. THIS WAS NOT A QUEEN CROWD BUT STILL THEY STOLE THE SHOW.

yes yes yes yes yes
Love your reaction to our dear, dear Freddie and Queen.

Freddie also had a throat infection at the time. And he still sounded better than most singers do when they're healthy.

Wow 🤩 beautiful Freddie ❤️ we still love you Freddie ❤️
He was the absolute best
'Dragon Attack' live is it. I have loved Queen for 50 years.
This was such an amazing performance, seeing he was so sick when he did this. He had recently been dianogsed with Hiv/Aids and only informed the band members not long before this. He had been having trouble with his voice and they werent sure he was gonna be able to perform

Queen was an amazing group and their concerts were the best!
A reporter once asked Freddie something about his favorite instrument. “The audience darling.”
You need to see the Queen Live Aid concert 20 minutes but worth it that's where this video comes from
YAAS!
This song was a reaction to MTV where videos became more important than the music and lyrics. Radio was pure. Funny how the nursing home is gonna sound when I get there. Lol
Love your reaction to Queen 😍 check out under pressure at wembley
This is part of a concert he played in called LIVE AID .. PLEASE REACT TO THE FULL QUEENS LIVE AID PERFORMANCES THEY SANG THAT DAY.. X
Please. . . . . .
U won't regret it!
Even when Freddie isn’t singing the camera stays ON HIM.

Specifically, MTV.
Please do more Queen reactions!

Freddie was asked what instrument he played in the band; his answer ‘The audience darling’
Let's hear the song: We Are The World (Official video) It was made with multiple singers for the USA for Africa benefit. It has 105 million views.
This was Lady Ga Ga's favorites song growing up. This song influenced her to create Lady Ga Ga as her stage name
They'll never, ever be another like Freddie!! Gone way, way, way to soon.

You missed the Radio Baba!😅
and we have Lady Gaga haha.
Do you know anyone else that can control a crowd that size
The music of today, especially rap, (with some exceptions) is lazy and cheap.
