not speaking in bad faith here but can you educate me? i thought from reading stuff on the internet that blackface is imitating/portraying black people through makeup etc. often in a mocking/degrading way. but i can’t see that raven wants to appear like a black person. she tans and gets a really dark colour while doing it okay but its not like for example rachel dozeal who pretends to be a black person and even gets her hair really curly ..

@@rockmybones97 Raven also wears Afro textured wigs and gets lip injections. Blackfishing isn't the exact same as blackface, and Rachel Doezal wasn't mocking black folk, she wanted to be black. Rachel Doezal tanned herself(much less extreme than Raven), wore Afro wigs, and told everyone she was black. The only thing Raven doesn't do is the third part. I wouldn't care at all if Raven did everything in less excessive amounts, but in such extremes all together, it's just weird. Also, fake tanning is going to give her skin cancer, so her doing it just to have darker skin is a huge no. Nobody needs to fake tan, it's dangerous.
It's funny how some queens get upset when their dates ask them about their jobs and careers, but then, in the next podcast, they'll complain, "Wow, he didn’t say anything about Drag Race, and it’s so annoying because obviously, we know you know who I am!"
