YAY APARTMENT TOUR MY FAVORITE TYPE OF VIDEO TO WATCH 😇 I'm really excited to move though....all my problems with this apartment are things I can't really show you, like the building itself and location 😅 The interior is great!!! AND!!! thank you guys so much for 11k today 🥰
Now that you don't live there anymore, could you tell us where it was? Just to compare with other apartments in the same area. I am looking for an apartment to rent for next year. Thanks
Thank you UA-cam algorithm for suggesting this lovely channel! I'm a Grandma from Northern Canada and love to see how young people are doing all over the world! WhenI was a young student I had a teeny tiny apartment Overtop of a bookstore. I have fond memories of those years! Your apartment is adorable. You've used every square inch, but it's not over crowded. It's fascinating to see how people around the world live!🇨🇦😊👵
Such a cute space! You did a great job! I think here in the part of the US that I live it's like $1200 for a studio! It's crazy. Can't wait to see what you do with your new space!
Your apartment is so nice Allison!! I just moved to Tokyo myself and I’m really struggling with how to design my apartment lol. I am not good at interior design and I don’t know how to make the most of my space…but this video gave me some great ideas!! Thank you!!! 😊
you're so extremely efficient with the space you have, incredible haha. For some reason I thought the apartment is much bigger, I think the sectioning helps to give off that vibe too. Fingers crossed for another apartment tour in two months!
Eventhough it's a tiny space you made a lot of smart decisions to make it into a really nice place. Not sure if I could've done it 😂. Nice video as always and congrats on your 11.1k
Good luck on the apartment hunt! Can't wait to see the process, I love moving vlogs lol. Let me live vicariously. As an American who can barely afford a cheap apartment with two roommates, I get it. There's no way I could live alone here in the States anytime in the next decade at least. Happy for you that you can live that dream!
Such a cute living space! Happy to find new youtubers in Japan. I'll hopefully be moving out in the spring and trying to work up the courage to start a channel.
I think you did a great job decorating your apartement and fitting so much in that space. The studio area is very cute and seems bigger, thanks for that advice. Also, I love the bathroom area. Good luck with the apartment hunt :)
Thanks for posting this. Nice use of your space. I finally bought a bidet and wonder why I waited so long. The bath heat\fill features are interesting.
I stayed in two Airbnb apartments in Tokyo in 2018 and both had the combo washer/dryer. EXCEPT those freaking things took like four hours to do a load and then I still ended up hanging up the clothes for a bit after because they still weren’t dry enough.
I adore your apartment tour! Such an amazing place - how you've organized it. Thanks for sharing! I am new to your channel and am glad, that I've found you today. I enjoy watching your videos almost whole day 🙂 Looking forward for the new ones and your stories 🤗
I really like your apartment. It’s really cute and you’ve made the most out of it. You even inspired me with your strict section idea when I redecorated my bedroom last year to fit in a small home office area. Although my apartment is much bigger, I never planned to work at home befor covid happened, and therefore didn’t have space for a working desk. But with your videos you gave me some pretty good ideas how I might rearrange my furniture that I have a working section and a sleeping section in my bedroom and it still looks good. So thanks for your inspiration and I’m looking forward to see you moving and decorating that new apartment. Are you planning for another studio or more like an one bedroom apartment? Is that even possible in Tokyo for a decent price? I hope you’ll find something you like.
Thank you!!! I hope your desk situation works out 👩💻 Ehhhh I wanted a one bedroom but I really can't afford it in a decent location 😅 Would need at least 1300-1400 a month for that, so I'm aiming for a bigger studio for now 💪
@@AllisoninTokyo oh wow, that’s a lot of money for rent. But a bigger studio can be nice too, especially with your smart sense for interior. I hope you’ll find something you like. And thanks, yes my desk situation works quite nice and I love it every day I don’t have to go to the office and can still work efficiently ☺️
Adorable! 😭😭 I’m working on joining jet as a family of 3 and currently have a whole house I’ve been planning on how to downsize and fit back into an apartment again and I’m nervous but I love how you use your space!
Happy 11K! Congratulations! ❤️👏 This was a really interesting video! I think you optimized the space very well. 🙂 I'm thinking of buying some furniture soon. My space is pretty small too. Where did you get your bed frame and mattress?
thanks!! both from nitori! the mattress was the softest nsleep or something and i love it 😂 basically everything i own is nitori and a few ikea and lowya and amazon/rakuten things
Exciting to hear about your move! I just published my first vlog about my travel to Japan two weeks ago, and it was really your videos that inspired me to make it and make more Japan vlogs in the future. Love your video style! 😊
Lovely apartment 😍made me so nostalgic from when I was living in Japan, yes you really have to be creative with the small spaces haha I would love to get back in some point again :D
Love to see how your space has evolved, Allison! I see you have a wooden topper on your IKEA Raskog cart - do you recall where it’s from? I’ve been looking for one for a while, but haven’t been sure how well they’d fit.
It's just from Ikea!! It was just next to them at the store so idk what they're called 😅 Sure you could spraypaint it or something to change the color!
I LOVE your apartment, it’s really serene, and I feel like it’s so good for studying/working 😁 Thank you for taking time and showing us! Also, I like playing Genshin Inpact, too 😁 My favorite character is Itto!
I just yesterday watched your previous apartment tour in 2021 and I laughed so hard as I saw your showe closet now. In 2021 you said you could fit 12 pairs in there. Well you showed your mini self from 2021 that there is more space 😅
Crazy how I guessed it to be JPY80,000 a month! It's a really nice size apartment, not too big but not too small either. It's too much money for me to pay as a student from Malaysia so I've settled for a room in a sharehouse just a few stations away from Ikebukuro. But I'm in the process of moving into my new apartment which will be closer to my work place so I'm excited! It's no where near as big as your place but at least it's a few stations away from Shibuya -- my fave place! 🙆🏻♀️
Hi Allison, you apartment is bigger than mine was but you’ve got luxury too. Oooooo, love your bath tub. The nice ones are one of the luxuries of Japan that make going back home for many people who have lived in Japan tsurai, or uncomfortable. We miss the Japanese style bath (unless you are one of those super tall people who couldn’t fit in the bath). 😅 However the apartment spaces are claustrophobia inducing. Allison did great with the “zones”. One of mine was too small to do even that. The whole apartments have often been smaller than our closet back home or smaller than children’s room spaces (back home the child’s room was often smaller). As Allison said, the six mat or 22 squ meters seems or is a NORMAL average size and you can go a lot smaller. Mine were smaller, one was way smaller, as in less than half Some luxury places are bigger. It is for single people, because it is thought that single people don’t need space. The space is supposedly averaged per person for couples or families, but in reality many of us need space such as a living kitchen dining etc area and some natural light if we are to live some years and not become a sick, a nutcase,or develop other mental issues. It would also be nice to invite people over too, but Tokyo has a cafe culture or bar culture so people meet there. We don’t have our own space to create in and share with others. Of course it can be fun to join friends in a cafe and try out different places….but prices add up, so some people stop meeting friends if they can’t afford it. So there are pluses and minuses to everything and everywhere. Side note: Cleaning and mold is an issue with the lack of air flow, and cockroaches can be an issues hiding in small places and in stuff that is packed in.
it's all in the attitude. If the place is fine for you, then its's the best that anything else could be. There are depressed and dissatisfied people living in far more spacious and luxurious spaces in West Central Park. But this gal is fine.
OH MY GOD! Yes! Create spaces! I could never explain it properly yet I've always done that with my room to separate the desk (study/work) area from the bed area. Your brain creates two imaginary rooms just by placing furniture correctly. Also rent is not bad at all, pretty similar to prices in my country. How expensive was it to move in? (You know, all those hidden fees).
Wow you have so many shoesss! Where from FL?? I was born and raised in Orlando but i had to move in 2017 because of how insane rent got! I had my daughter in 2015 and I couldn't even wrap my head around how i would survive. Probably would have to work two full time jobs plus have to pay daycare in order to work those jobs, pay rent just to lay my head for a couple of hours and never get to see my daughter. I now live in Puerto Rico and it's so much easier. It's crazy to think about paying car insurance, renters insurance, etc now after living somewhere else.
Makes me feel a bit embarrassed to think of how spoiled I was as a child. I had an 'apartment' and my bedroom was easily 6x larger than this room plus a big 'living room' area and my own bathroom. All it was missing was a kitchen tbh but 8 year olds probably shouldn't have kitchens... I like how cozy the room is. It really makes you think about the essentials and not have junk drawers everywhere.
Love watching the house (er, studio!) tour - you have a very cute style. I love the idea of zoning everything, too; I'll have to steal that for my own place :) Do you plan on staying in Tokyo, or moving elsewhere?
Hello Allison! You're so resouceful; you made it look like a coozy cute place to live in 😍 I'm moving to Tokyo soon and I was wondering if you've got any advice on how to find an aparment. Thank you in advance!

It’s interesting about the cheap vs expensive. When I came to Japan, a USA person would have considered the 800 price in Japan for a closet “apartment” to have been extremely expensive and nonsensical. Now the prices for housing in the USA AND OTHER PLACES HAVE BECOME INCREDIBLY IMMORAL AND IRRESPONSIBLE relative to the lower pay rungs, and even middle pay rungs; it’s sad and disappointing to see. So now, the 800 price in Japan is considered cheap. It is very interesting to see that change. Anyhow, I was always impressed, despite 5inking the small space had the potential to lead to mental issues, that most people were housed in Japan, even if in a small space. The mold is a health issue Pugh.

How wonderful Japan is to make apartments that poor people can afford, whether you're in college or not.
