  • I compare boil times between the Trangia 27 cook set and the Alocs cook set. I also discuses some of the differences between the two.For the boil tests I use the Trangia alcohol burner, I don't use the Alocs alcohol burner that comes with the kit so as to have some consistency between boil test.
    Burn tests:
    Alocs: 16oz @ 53dg, 7:52
    Trangia with kettle: 16oz @ 53dg, 7:15
    Trangia with bowl: 16oz @ 53dg, 7:34
Trangia with one bowl: 23oz 652g
    kettle: 5.2oz 147.4g
    bowl: 3.3oz 93.5g
Trangia full kit with kettle: 32.4oz 918.5g
    Alocs Kit: 22.9oz 649g

Excellent test, I would love to see the same test done with a fan blowing on them to simulate wind in a real life situation

I've thought about doing a wind test but I can't say when.

Would the 27 kettle fit on the alocs?

Not really, It sits snugly in the pot stand but with that it will block all of heat from escaping which could cause problems with flames exiting the side of the stove. I wouldn't recommended using the Tragia.
I don't think Alocs makes this stove anymore so its kind of a mote point. 🙂
      Have a good day.
