Hmm, maybe your laptop is not supported. From I researched from Dell’s website & other websites; Express Charge charges the laptop quicker than standard charger.
Alienware m15 R6: works BIOS screen looks different but I can still do what's described in the video. BIOS Setup > Power > Custom Default values were Start: 50 (can't go below this) and Stop: 90. I'm changing to 80.
I have a 17 R4 And the only setting it has is express charge There it only has 3 setting which is express charge, primary AC use, and auto I guess I'll leave it at auto but I don't know how to change it besides those 3 options
the option is available on my X14 r1, but when I set it to stop charging at 80% in the bios, the windows battery meter still shows it charging to 100%.
Try discharging it to like 75% & put it back on the charger to see if it actually goes pass 80%. I noticed that X17 R2. It would stop charging at 60% but Windows thinks it will charge to 100% which it didn’t.
Okay but let’s say I unplug my laptop and use it elsewhere. And then I set the start charging to 60% and the laptop is at 49% will it not charge at all?
There’s something similar to this on the G15. Tried the “My Asus” app & look for battery section. Should find something that will limit the battery to 80% charge only.
It’s not healthy leaving your battery at 100% all the time. This will help with that. If you don’t really care about your battery’s health, don’t bother.
@@tounsanad3573 okay I received your photo. It seems like that only certain models have this option unfortunately. Do you know what Express Charge does? Edit: Typo
To anyone who is doing this, please let us know what laptop you used. Seems like not all Alienware laptops are supported
What is the solution ?
Have you found out what Express Charge is on your laptop?
@@SiGuy_YT I did the option..... but I don't know what this option does

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Alienware m15r4 on the latest bios offers the full range of options. Currently testing AC Mode before testing Custom. Will report back.
Thanks!
M15 R5 (Ryzen Edition)
If F12 doesn’t work, press F2 instead
alienware m15 R7 works, I had to spam F2 tho to enter BIOS but the layout is similar
HOW MUCH DID YOU SET IT TO?
JUST RECIEVED THE M15 R7 AND FINDING WAYS TO PRESERVE THE BATTERY LIFE
Well for me, I kept it between 60% & 80%
@@ayushbhardwaj874 I got mine set to stop charging when it reaches to 90% and start charging when it reaches to 60%

Are you on the latest BIOS? If there’s no “custom” then it’s probably not supported on that model.
When did this laptop come out?
@@SiGuy_YTI also have 17R4. Do you think upgrading BIOS would provide options to specify charge as you have shown ?

Will the laptop die bellow 60%? Or does it continues to drain u til you charge it back to 80
Alienware M17 R5 16GB ram 1TB SSD is this safe?
Does not work on my alienware m15 r2 need help please and thanks
Confirmed m15 r5
What is the purpose for this. Worked on my M17R5
As far as I'm aware, charging a computer past a certain percentage can shorten its battery lifetime. So this helps keep that issue to a minimum.
Okay but let’s say I unplug my laptop and use it elsewhere. And then I set the start charging to 60% and the laptop is at 49% will it not charge at all?
It will charge up to whatever the maximum is.
It will only charge if it falls below the minimum.
Do this reduce the preformance when you play with laptop?
No, this will help your battery from degrading over time.
Hello! have you tried battery recalibration on Alienware laptop?
Nope, I don’t even have my Alienwares anymore
Does anyone know if this works on the G15?
There’s something similar to this on the G15. Tried the “My Asus” app & look for battery section. Should find something that will limit the battery to 80% charge only.
Wait, are you talking about the Dell G15 or the Asus G15? If it’s the Dell, try the BIOS maybe.
What does this do?
Helps your battery with degradation
Confirmed on X17
How can you get it? I cannot find that option on my X17
It doesn't work on my X17...? ..R1...
I can test this out myself on Friday when my X17 comes in. I’ll let you know
