I do want to try it but can't figure out how you got the feather to be half red and half blue was it luck or the way the paint was placed into the cup? That part isn't shown.
I know, unfortunately, I didn't have that part filmed. For this feather, I had some leftover paint in the cup from the previous pour. And for that previous pour, I had paint layered in the cup, and this is how it ended up separated. I'll make sure to film everything for future videos ;)
Thank you so much! Yes, it's definitely simple, I find that it really helps to use a painting knife with a sharp tip and to make sure to wipe it off after each stroke!
I really love Part 2 of this video. Funny, I just noticed a comment from someone who prefers speaking on the videos. I am the opposite, I love the music and that you just do the pour and don't spend inordinate time mixing and waffling like a lot of the videos do.

Nice of you to credit to music, I like it a lot and it’s good to see who the artist is. Also, thank you for not overworking your art. You know when to stop, most people do not.
"Easy feather pour"...easy for you Olga...love it. Shame about the overhead light right in the middle of the 2nd pour...diamonds on red velvet..both beautiful
@@OlgaSoby I have put off trying out acrylic pours but don't know why. I know I can't do a feather on my first attempt but am sure with some practice and knowledge that I can one day soon. Thanks for the insperation.
Honestly, Chuck, I think that it has to come from within. I mean the desire to create. And it is important to leave all of your expectations aside. That is the only right way to do the art, especially such an intuitive type of it as pouring. It's trite, but it's true. Sometimes I'm trying to push myself to do a certain pour or certain painting, and it never works out. And sometimes I let it all go, put some inspiring music on, and let the ideas flow. I'm not saying that you don't need to learn and to practice, because you definitely do. But it's important to enjoy what you are doing. PS most definitely you can do the feather! Maybe it wouldn't be perfect on the first attempt, but a couple more tries and you'll master it!

This is the best feather pour (and the easiest and least messy!) I’ve seen so far. By the way, where did you get that yellow spatula tool you use to spread your basecoat?
Hi Jana, thank you so much! When it comes to pouring, I prefer aerosol spray varnish, because pour art is so smooth, and all the brush strokes or "imperfections" are very noticeable, and I don't want any of those. Spray varnish is super easy to use. I prefer Krylon Spay varnish which is cheaper, or Windsor&Newton spray varnish, which is more expensive, but a little bit nicer. Both in gloss. Hi Brenda, this is a good question. I think this problem is related mostly to pouring medium and/or the paint itself. What do you use? I never had a problem with cracking, I had crazing a few times, and it was when I had way more paint on the canvas + it was a hot day, which also makes a difference.
Smart Art Materials ok guess I can’t do that. I’m new to this and I started by watching videos. The ones I saw used water. Could that be why it cracks? One lady told me it was because off too much paint on the canvas and the top layer was drying faster.
I think it could be a combination of reasons - water + too much paint. Overall, it's not recommended to dilute the paint with too much water. Adding a little bit of water to your paint is ok, but when you add too much, water breaks the binder, and it loses its strength to bond the pigment together and to adhere to the surface. How do you keep the painting from cracking with that much paint on the canvas? I’ve tried pouring twice and ended up with cracks on both.
Hi Brenda, this is a good question. I think this problem is related mostly to pouring medium and/or the paint itself. What do you use?
I never had a problem with cracking, I had crazing a few times, and it was when I had way more paint on the canvas + it was a hot day, which also makes a difference.

Hi Sandra, I order hair serum, just like most of my art supplies, on Amazon - amzn.to/2LXtlr0 .
