The Black Hole technique - Acrylic fluid art painting

  • Today we paint a small abstract artwork using the black hole technique. You can easily do it and you will be rewarded with a fascinating result, let yourself be surprised!
So that the white canvas does not show through anywhere, you should first coat it with black paint.
Only then pour your black base layer followed by the colors of your choice.
You can find my pouring recipe here: tiktusart.com/en/acrylic-pour...
You can of course adjust the "black hole" in size, depending on how much black color you pour into your basic pattern. Here you have to try something, but don't take too much color, it has to be able to expand in order not to get thick puddles of paint.
As always, I wish you a lot of fun with the video, if I was able to inspire you or just enjoyed it, I would be happy with a thumbs up or a nice comment.
    Creative greetings
    Tiktus

Only thing I've hated about doing pours is the amount of paint that is wasted. I'm thinking about dropping canvases under the main canvas to make small pieces out of all the paint that drips off.

    • @Kelly-nl9ni
      @Kelly-nl9ni 4 роки тому +56

I've stopped doing them for that reason. The number of paintings I actually liked and kept made doing it a complete waste. I like to watch the better artists still :)

@MT45, I've been seeing a lot of comments and therefore vids in response to the wastage problem. You CAN reuse a lot of it.
Look at some end of day pours, etc. Gilly Kube, amongst many others, have responded. (Aussie lady, me too!) Her processes in general seems less wasteful in overpour, etc. than a lot I've seen. She does different techniques, too. She's one of many I'm subscribed to, but she's how I REALLY got interested in actually doing some rather than just watching.
She's also all about beginners and price. Makes her own DIY pouring medium, Gesso, has a great, Aussie made, cheap, silicon brand (and anything else you can imagine all in the link to the friendly, small business she buys from), re-use of canvases, old cardboard for swipes, etc., etc.
There are a few who I've found, who really try to keep costs down, therefore actual waste is minimal! Just keep watching any and everything by any and everyone!
I'll get an idea from here, one over there, a couple somewhere else and then combine. Lol.
I'm only playing around on cardboard with tiny amounts of paint, to get the feel for the consistency of paint mix to the equivalent required movement/tilt/angle that's a comfortable, reasonably consistent flow of paint for me to handle at the moment.
As I started with nothing and only a "maybe, after everything else" budget of AU$40-$60 per month (hopefully $10-15 per week!) I'm starting to itch for it... I have 3 mini canvases and a 20cm square canvas. 2 titanium white and two lamp black(oops, matte, but they'll do for now! ) 75ml/2.5 Fl.Oz tubes of paint, one each phthalo blue, "purple" and "Rose Madder" (an "off" red, a slightly deeper, darker, NOT RED!!)lol.
      It's a start!
Your question definitely has answers! Good luck! ✌🏼💜🌈
I think about waste constantly and just try not over pour etc. too much, to be less wasteful!
I'm finding it a great, relaxing hobby. I just can't wait to get into it more, now!!
Good luck! I'm sure with a little more research you can find ways to save on the waste and or re-use it. When dry the excess overflowed paint is called a skin or wrap(I think) and can be used elsewhere. "Shrinkies" maybe?? I haven't looked into that yet. A side hobby perhaps??
Don't give up because of waste!! Not without some specific questions to Google and or people you subscribe to, who are there to share their knowledge, not to make money off us, especially low income beginners!!
