would love a compare and contrast with hollyland pyro...they both seem to be in the same price bracket, with some similar features, and I am curious which would be the recommendation, or under what circumstances you might choose one over the other.
im returning mine because it gets uncomfortably hot, and the fan noise can be very loud even on low mode. Furthermore the battery life isnt great if you're not using massive npf batteries. If you want to power it by usb c, you need to make sure your power supply can output 9.2v!

Fan set to default. Using a touchscreen pen incase I want to change settings on the device itself, rather than on a phone.
Can you recommend a iPad cage power setup with the dji sdr? Ideally to hand to clients with handles or table stand, almost like a director monitor, thanks
i think the Achilles' heel of many transmission systems are npf batteries. You will see that especially when you tried the DJI highbright monitor with npf and their own batteries. Especially cheap npf, take forever to charge and have bad performace. On the High Bright monitor together with the dji handles this can even lead to glitches when the npfs charge is under 40% I really hope DJI would make npf compatible batteries but with the fast charging and awesome weight and power ratio of their own wb37
Was making a review about them still havent edited it but i did mention the fan, i cant believe nobody mentioned the fan noise the moment i heard mune i was like how has nobody mentuoned this its so loud. Im not surprised though mostnof the people who got it prerelease just said good things, which tbh um happy with mine i dont think the fan noise does affect me yet we'll see if it does at some point
No UVC output on receiver? Hopefully on next firmware update. Hollyland pyro s/h have this feature and it's great for a quick and dirty output to a laptop at 1080/30 MJPEG for Zoom, Teams , Vmix, OBS, etc .....
I'm curious to see if teradek is going to properly respond to all these newer transmission systems. They could ignore hollyland but not dji. My teradeks almost never get used now as 9 times out of 10 im grabbing the dji transmission system.
yeah, I've switched to DJI 90% of the time. I can't remember the last time I used a Teradek and didn't have some sort of signal issue. DJI isn't flawless, but other than the occasional restart to get signal back, they've been much more reliable.

The biggest question I have as a DIT is : what metadatas the DJI transmitters are supporting and for which cameras? (TC, Clipname, Rec Flag...) Do you have any experience with that particular aspect ?
@@UncommonManFromEarth I can only speak for the higher end DJI video transmission, not this new SD version. TC for sure, clipname and record flag are usually fed into the the SDI output via the camera when I've used it... I'm no DIT, but first AC's and the 2-man audio teams I've worked with haven't brought up any issues.

If you were to choose between the Hollyland Pyro S and the DJI SDR, which one would you choose? Clearly it depends a lot on what you are going to use them for, in my case it will be for monitoring.
Also using the low latency mode is achieved by lowering the data rate of the video feed. So low latency mode results in severe artifacts so its not good for focus pulling at all.
Low Latency mode of DJI SDR Transmission is basically a way to add extra frames to a video without messing with the original frame rate or cutting down on quality. So, if your video is coming in at less than 60 frames per second, like 24, 25, or 50, turning on Low Latency will bump it up to 60 frames to cut down on delay. But if your video is already at 60 frames per second or higher, flipping this feature on or off won't make a difference.

this sucks a lot, makes it much harder to power. I can't use my usb ports on my v mounts, I need to use a dtap to usb c cable...
I'm so surprised they didn't add a 2 Pin Lemo for power instead of USB-C in case you don't want to use a NPF..
There's a compnay in the UK that makes a NPF dummy that has 2 pin in and through. Cine Parts

1:12 I hate that in the UK we're bound by CE, so the transmission range appears 33% lower vs FCC. I hope a hack appears for this.

Nope, HDMI and SDI in on the transmitter and HDMI and SDI out the receiver. No loops sadly.

I couldnt care less if the range is 200 meters, if i can get a steady signal within 3-5 meters im ok, this isnt the case with cheaper wifi aystems
