It's been casually over 100 degrees 5 days a week for the last 3 months in Antioch. Prepare for HEAT in the summers unlike most areas of the Bay.
It does get HOT out in Antioch and the rest of east Contr Costa county.
I grew up in Antioch and it has a special place in my heart. Antioch is not particularly business friendly, that’s why it hasn’t thrived in terms of jobs. The city elected officials don’t really care about the city itself which is evident when you drive around the city. But it’s home for now.
Antioch has its challenges, but gets a bad rap overall. the potential is there!

It's a shit hole
@@RichFlemingRealtor
Says the realtor seeking to sell homes there.
@@user-mh1qt4ln5g ... all cities have their good an bad if they are of any substantial size. If you don't like Antioch, nobody is forcing you to live there.
I'm from Southern California (San Diego County). Antioch has always been one of the many places on the bay I want to visit. I appreciate your input. I'm a new follower!
Thanks for the follow and let me know if you have any questions.
Bro what Lmao?

I know I left antioch and moved to SD place is a miserable shit hole bunch of tweakers
All i know is a few of my favorite rappers are from there bigtone and woodie
SOON AS I HEARD YOUR VOICE. I THOUGHT OF DAVID ALAN GREER.
😂 thanks for commenting!
I lived there for 23 years…loved the mountain biking and the delta.
Thanks for sharing and visiting the channel.
A city that had so much potential and promise. Terrible Mayor. Terrible council. Just a joke of the East Bay.
Thanks for watching the video and sharing your opinion.
Coming into existence in 1849 means it was formed exclusively for or as a result of mining transport needs in or out of the area surrounding hwy 49.
I'm not sure that I understand your point, but thanks for watching and commenting.
what's the area called that you're walking around?
I have 2 friends that call Antioch home. I've visited 1 of my 2 friends & where he resides, yes doesn't seem all that bad crime wise. I think he would had mentioned it too if it was that bad. As for my other friend, ironically he too was a Realtor & Antioch was his starter hometown! He gradually moved to Hercules then further down to Albany. Then finally Burlingame. He too didn't mention issues with crime though yes because he commuted often to the City, he despised the traffic along Highway 4 towards 680/24 & Caldecott Tunnel. He felt it would never get better. Then too he didn't have BART back then either as an option. Speaking of crime, I was told it's Amtrak Station is closing & moving to Oakley as an alternative stop now. The area around that station never looked safe & rather desolate I hate to say that when I'm on Amtrak San Joaquin.
I live in Atwater CA. Looking to move to Antioch, Brentwood, Tracy or even as far as Lathrop Manteca area. I work Monday - Friday in Livermore now so I’m trying to get closer to work.
I lived in a town where crime was high but it mostly was in some neighborhoods so I won’t rule out a town.
Don't move here. Its not safe. Gangs, drugs, and violence. Unless you carry a gun and like living on the edge. Just going to the grocery store feels like a Mad Max situation. We have armed security at Safeway if that tells you anything. 😮
@@richardbrown1195 so maybe Tracy is a better option.
@@richardbrown1195 not at all lol, grew up and currently live here. All Bay Area cities has its challenges especially with the inflation we are dealing with
Most cities, including Antioch, are a story of neighborhoods. Antioch has some great neighborhoods and some challenging ones. The city is trying to address challenges with its police force. Brentwood and Oakley tend to have fewer challenged neighborhoods.
The reality is that Antioch is a greasy armpit of crime
Thanks for stopping by to spread your salt/unsubstantiated opinion. I appreciate the algorithm boost generated by your comment.
@@RichFlemingRealtor
I live next door to Antioch, and unfortunately I have to go there for work sometimes. So don’t tell me that my opinion is unsubstantiated. You’re a realtor. You apparently make your living convincing people that it’s a great place to live, and that they should buy a home there.
On February 24th Antioch racked up its fourth murder of the year. I guess you can always tell people, “It’s better than Oakland!”
@@user-mh1qt4ln5g ... this may come as a shock to you, but I don't care where people choose to live ... that's THEIR choice, not mine. My job is to assist them in the purchase of a property if it is in a community I serve. Like I always say in my videos, there's good and bad in all larger cities. Enjoy spreading your salt.
It's so far away, Is it considered part of the Bay Area?
Yes, it is considered part of the Bay Area. I think East County id considered part of the Bay Area until the Brentwood/oakley area. From there it becomes rural.
Yes ... technically, all of the 9 counties that touch the bay are considered "the Bay Area".
Looking online people act like Antioch is the worst of the worst crime wise. I may be moving there or Brentwood this year. In all honestly is the crime really that bad?
Anitoch is DEFINITELY a city of neighborhoods. Some have more crime challenges while others are very safe. It depends where you live. Brentwood probably has lower overall crime levels, but, if you're commuting, living there may add 15 to 20 minutes to your drive. Contact me (info in video description) if you want to have a more indepth discussion.
It’s not, just try to stay away from section 8 housing
@@geronimomajinbro
The problem is this: The people that live in the section 8 housing won’t stay away from you.
Go check out the crime statistics on Antioch PD’s website. There are 115,000 people living there and it averages about two murders per month.
Lived there 18 years, it’s absolutely horrible.
Want to learn more...?....come to the museum..... Kevin Lanier....board member!......hit me up!!! Let's tell the facts!!!
Thanks for stopping by! I used to live in Antioch. the city gets a bad wrap and people don't know the history.
I will be sending you an e-mail in January. I'm really looking into a future move
🌺Aloha🌺
Sounds good! I look forward to speaking to you!
Its a war zone !!........all the section 8 for the county is here now.........not the place your parents used to live here experience !!
Yok Influenced
Antioch has a high crime rate because when the section 8 flood gates opened up in the early 2000s Richmond Oakland and San Francisco people came flowing in
Like most cities, crime varies by neighborhood. Making a blanket statement about the entire city isn't accurate. I also can't say I agree with your assessment of crimes challenges. It's WAY more complex than that.
Is this a spoof video? Been here since 86
Nope ... is this a spoof comment!
San Jose drive in Antioch is a literal shanty town. Don't come here. Been shot in a drive by twice now and homelessness is rampant.
As noted in the video, parts of Antioch do have crime challenges. Your experience, while tragic, doesn't describe the entire city.
It's not like it used to be. It's a dump
You're entitled to your opinion. Like all cities, Antioch has its good and its bad. thanks for sharing your opinion.
Antioch it's the worst ...nobody doing nothing to change anything...theirs nothing left from wat it was...do not move to antioch
Exactly I moved from there miserable place people are racist blacks and a bunch of white/Chicano trash that are mostly homeless tweakers
The mayor and city council are a joke. They destroyed Antioch.Honestly they need to send in the national guard in there.
@@StevenSmith-lb7sr yea is why I left
@@user-pv1tp7fg5q Yes it’s horrible. Thank god you left. I hope whatever community your in now it’s safe for you and your family.
@Steven Smith Thanks but to be honest no where is good in Cali now it's really a state gone to hell worse and worse every year but atleast where I live now in Socal is a wide spread County and not a tiny lil farm town where people have no life and choose violence as a hobby. The thing is that people have resources to change there community but choose to make it worse.
