Mike, I can’t even tell you how much this video has improve my golf game. It’s so much fun to hit the ball like I did 30 years ago. Thank you

Holy $hit - wow - I don’t know what else I can add - the BEST explanation of the grip I’ve ever seen, read, or heard. You’re an absolute genius in how you walk us “pretenders” through the golf game. I can’t express my thanks enough. The throwing motion, now, makes perfect sense. 😊🏌🏼‍♂️⛳️💙

Mike I just subbed, and I gotta say, it's a breathe of fresh air to find a channel that advocates teaching methods that I would imply myself.

Fantastic video. Mike, what you said about the pull hookers is 100% me. I hook the ball all the time and when I start to weaken my grip it works at first but eventually I start to lose all control of the face and it falls apart. I wonder if you can do a more in-depth video about how the hands and body need to work through the ball to eliminate the hook. That is what I need to fix my hook for good. Thank you for all your insightful tips and instruction!

Today I hit the ball spot on. I have been a member for a year. Last night I saw how to use the ground, and swing along my shoulder line. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!! I was trying to adjust my grip to "what is recommended" , and by changing the grip to the more relaxed and physiological way you just showed changed the way I hit the ball, it goes further, straighter and effortless.

Dear Mr Malaska. I dont know how can i tributte you. This is defenetly fix all my problem after i playing golf 15 years. I never know more strong grip more control wrist hinge especially for small hand like my hand. I really struggle with grip. I dont have time to practice this "drill" to driving range, but i can feel my club head speed add around 5-10 mph, no joke. Plus more solid contact. Love from Indonesia. - sorry for my bad english -

Great Explanation, I tried the natural golf swing and after going back to a regular swing I found I was letting go at the top and then re-gripping/tightening on the way down. I am a pretty good athlete so was able to square the club enough to hit straight , often dead straight shots but I had a really high ball flight with my irons due to a little flip and playing my irons too far forward in my set up. When I had a bad day I hit pushes to the right and then I would compensate with a dead pull left: military golf. I cannot wait to try these tips when the weather gets better where I am located.

Nice explanation! Thank you. We amateurs are so "creative" with inappropriate bandaid fixes which only perpetuate the problems in the long run!

Great demonstration of the grip. I don’t think I ever really understood having the club in the fingers until seeing Mike do this video. Tried it and instantly hit the ball straight and solid.

Thanks, Mike. This IMO describes me to a tee. I tend to miss with a hook or pull/hook and work a strong grip. For years many have tried to get my right hand more on top which feels unnatural. If you could expand or direct me to where you dig deeper on getting the wrist and body to work better without over-rotating I would appreciate it.

I’m sounding like a broken record but thank you! That was a great explanation with the added context of how short term fixes are bandaids.

So do you think about the old training guide about the grip of that you should see 2 and on half knuckles of the left hand when addressing the ball all wrong in the today’s golf?

Good information, Thanks Mike, So if I understand you correctly there is no flipping of the wrist in the golf swing? I feel I usually flip my wrist in the majority of my golf shot, except for the short chips.

Perfect this is exactly. But usually instructions tell you how to turn it into a hook which IMO in my own game is worse. Strong grip I feel like my wrists work like a wave instead of up and down

Hi Mike, I have been a fader for years so I really enjoy your info on the grip, I went and played with what I thought was a stronger grip it didn’t seem to work, now I started to make the awful shank shot straight to my right 😝. I’m not sure what I did any idea?

Very helpful. Question: if my lead hand ( left) grip starts with two knuckles showing.. how can I then feel that the left hand is the face of the club? Since they don’t quite align ?

  • @csak3532
    @csak3532 3 роки тому

I have a stronger grip with a slice and was wondering if you could show the backside of the grip on your lead hand. I understand more in the fingers but should the top of the grip be resting more underneath the palm or should the club still come up in the v shape once the hand closes? I notice I hit balls better with the club "pushing up" on the palm but after a large bucket of balls my fingers hurt. If it comes up in the v I feel like I don't have to squeeze as hard on my fingers. I think it's just a case does the grip go perpendicular to the fingers or more on an angle. Hopefully that makes sense. Thanks Mike always great stuff!

The tip that Mike gives as part of this point: ua-cam.com/video/IuL5y-eLi8A/v-deo.html is the secret sauce. It eliminates 95% of aiming and alignment issues. If you just take a baseball like practice sing before hitting the ball, stop right before hypothetically impacting, and be sure to adjust the grip on the club so the face so that it is square, you are ready to stripe the ball. No more swing thoughts are needed, it will be dead strait every time. Even if you tend to come in too steep (slice) or too shallow (hook, push), the club will be square at impact which is, as Mike says the most important thing... its why we are all here.

Hello Mike, I am Robert Hargrove, from Kennebunk port Maine, the town where President Bush used to play golf.
My game in life besides being a CEO Coach and author of a book called Masterful Coaching is to master the golf swing which translated means-- hiting 'em long and straight, with no slices or duck hooks into the woods. Curiously though I seek mastery I am much less competitive in golf than my wife and son
I have thoroughly enjoyed your gold videos with that beautiful dessert mountain, backgrounds. I can't stand Adam Baselgate, who is only interested in selling you his lag trainer, etc and not interested in teaching. Though I love England I also cant stand any golf teacher with an English accent, the reason being is they never come to the point, and the stuff they teach is to theoretical and not actionable
By contrast, I find you to be both a masterful teacher who is truly dedicated to figuring out the golf swing, and making your secrets of golf swing accessible so as to help your students all over the USA and around the world. I can see you have been working your tail off over the past year to produce a lot of videos, and I hope you keep them coming and also have the opportunity to really monetize them
Now down to brass tacks, I got a lot out of the video where you move your hands close to the camera, spread your fingers apart and say the secret to the swing was in the hands which move the body
You said not a single pro golfer disconnects shifts "the core " assuming the hands will follow. I like that drill where you lift the club and swing the handle or whatever back which gives me a feel for what the downswing is supposed to be like, though I must say it becomes elusive when you put the club down
I also like your videos, hinging the right hand and wrist straight back like you're getting ready to toss a baseball. I realized from watching this I was doing some version of flipping my wrists, which was preventing me from making a full backswing
I always get confused about the takeaway. I kind of like the "Swing the handle" concept and found your suggestion of "hinging" the wrist straight back and feeling the weight of the clubhead very helpful. in both the shoulder turn and loading the right side from the inside ball of the foot. Sounds like I got my act together which I don't. . . .
I was out on the golf course today and played pretty well until I go to the 13th or 14th hole I think my mind kind of imploded at this point from trying to keep all this stuff in my head. Then things started to go south with 3-4 botched shots
My question How do I integrate all of the things you are teaching so that it comes naturally on the backswing in one round of golf, rather than trying to remember a lot of different things to do? Grip it and rip it?
ps, Finally, I got an idea, for how you could monetize this. Keep up the youtube free videos, then create a UA-cam paid channel membership for $99 for a video swing analysis with some suggestions. (five minutes of work)
Mike, I have written this so you know how much I appreciate you and your work. I wish you great success.
ps. Can you do a video on the takeaway? Robert Hargrove, May 8th, 2021

      Robert
Thanks for the response. It is my mission to demystify this game or at least the hitting the ball part. The more I teach and learn the easier the process becomes. When you ask how to put it all together. That is where the site and the Msystem come into play. I on a daily basis rebuild or revisit the skill development process of the swing. Now even though it does not take me long to go through it. Some days step two is off. So I spend a little time on it. Until it is back. Then I move on. By the time I am making fairly full swings then it is just feeling how the forces of the club and the body move in harmony. The constant offsetting of the club's momentum. It becomes like riding a bike. Once you know what it is or what it feels like. You never forget it. And it should be fairly easy to retain.

I'm gonna try this grip this weekend. It's like you have said all teachers teach the hand flip at impact.

  • @cryptokingz8297

My biggest issue is my grip turn into a strong grip without even me knowing it and then my right hand will ride over the left at impact and shut the club face down completely even at address my right hand spins the club face closed no matter what I do I can't stop it
