@@Mike-gn4un lol That's it 'fan-boy' knee-jerk without reading or thinking. I suppose your statement means they never could/would or did take anything right? Bullshit. Anyone who knows their body of work, esp prior to the song I will mention; and knows the body of work Marianne Faithfull produced can tell with 100% certainty that Mick Jagger did NOT write "Sister Morphine". He stole the song from her . IF you want to be a Stones 'fan-boy' read a bit of their history and shit Jagger pulled when he was a junkie. It ain't all pretty. [oh and the fact she was a junkie does not make his theft any better so don't go there]
OMG, I always loved the Stones version, but this one may stand up to Marianne Faithfull's in terms of haunting quality. Gorgeous. Definitely picking up the collection this comes from.
+Ted Bujalski Although Brian "could" play slide (as well as Keith), he wasn't well versed enough on slide to play here. Also, who knows if he was still actively participating in sessions at this point. Should be Ry Cooder on slide, as has played slide on every other subsequent recording of Sister Morphine, and a number of other Stones songs from that Beggar's Banquet / Let it Bleed era.
What a great song! I love it! One of my favourite songs by the Stones!
Been listening to this since about 1974. I’m only 61 today. I Always had a taste for B-side music. The A-sides are great also.
Masterpiece by the stones
One of my most favorite Stones song.
Absolutely true!🤘🏻💜🖤
Very sad song. One of my favorites. Great bluesrock song!
One of the stones best songs
One of the best versions ever
69 to 74 with Mick Taylor the best years
Absolutely!
In an interview for Rolling Stone Ry Cooder said that Brian Jones was sitting in a corner and crying during this session.
The Stones unplugged. A good version. A great version.
Not unplugged, just an acoustic rythmic with an (Ry Cooder) electric and a bass, as so often with the Stones.
What a version!
Bass is amazing!
Awesome version!!! Thanks for posting.
We have tons of their music, but now my hubby & I seek out the rare stuff by The Rolling Stones...
Excellent nice slide
Artistik rock n blues
the period when they were the strongest...
The period when they were still low enough to STEAL music from people they used to care about; and lie about it for decades.
Prick.
@@GrumblingGrognard Bullshit
The Stones created a phenomenal, original body of work

In my Stones playlist with Marianne's version, thanks for the upload!
Excellent 🔥
superb version. ..love it!
What a cool Rich sound analog separation so fucking cool
wunderfoll ... best implementation
Definitely Ry Cooder on slide guitar.
Why do I love it so goddam much when Charlie kicks in?
The familiar version is even more powerful . One of the best things they ever did . A warning to the druggies !
Mick Taylor at his best.
What a slide player, and all round blues guitarist.
Imo. This is the best version. Hauntingly beautiful
Ry Cooder plays the slide guitar..
Mick Taylor didn’t play on this or the recorded version
Ry Cooder but Taylor played many great slides with the Stones too.
when I blastoidal dis ya ditty...I gwaaannn rock ya very soul! 4-REAL...!
Jagger voice expressivity haunted this song

In my will it says play this song.
Cool to play it and not so more difficult to learn :)
Geschichte.......
wondering why they left the second verse of the final cut
Роллинги обязательно чем нибудь. УдИВЯТ. !
Dit is echt te GEK COOL ,I NO I WAS THER TOO
Why was this not on let it bleed?
TRES Heavy
Lass Die Finger weg ist am Besten , Nobody is that Strong !
why does the doctor have no face
Heavy
Loves me a Keith...but how is he still here and Glenn Frey is not?
Because Keith's got a constitution made of steel and concrete.
Because Rock & roll lives in Keith heart!!!
If you avoid overdose, take "clean" substances and finaly stop, less dangerous than cocaine or even alcohol.
Great version, I would love to find the album. Any thoughts?
+Jamming Edward Thank for the quick reply and thanks for putting the record up!
Ody Slim
Brian on slide ?

Mick Taylor or Ry Cooder
i thought it was mick taylor
Ry Cooder. Not Mick Taylor.
Maybe Brian could slide as well as Keith but not as Cooder or Taylor.
