Real-Life C3 Corvette Chevy 350 Small Block - Valve (Rocker) Cover Gasket Removal & Replacement.

In this video you will see the complete step by step removal and replacement of the valve covers and valve cover gaskets on a Chevy 350cid , 5.7 Ltr V8 Engine from the mid 1970's. I'll show you the techniques that I use, the way to use the RTV sealant, check and fixing (if required) the mounting surfaces of the Valve Covers so that they are straight and ready to go for re-installation. I just put a new set on my 75 and now on to some mufflers i also put all new calipers and pads as well as replacing the circuit board for the tach.I'll have to look into aluminum covers mine are the old steel stamped originals as well.

Unfortunately someone put a cheap dress up kit on there. Cast aluminum covers wont bend like the stamped sheet metal. There are also wider clamps to spread the load from the bolt head.
The newer silicone gaskets are far superior to the old style cork, and rubber gaskets also.
