Thanks for the tour 🙌 keep up the good content!
Great video. I'm a 77 Vette owner looking to replace my old stock mufflers. What were your replacement mufflers and where did you find them? Also, cant find "Part 2". Is there a part 2 video? Cheers!
Why bother at all with this old shit... Simply purchase and install a modern suspension retrofit and enjoy your C3 for once.
Thanks for the video. Did the horn ever go off on you again while doing sharp turns, I know at the end it didn’t but just curious if that resolved the issue.
That fixed the issue and all works as it should. I'll be doing another horn video on another C3 that is having horn issues. So I'll record the troubleshooting and repair...coming soon. Thanks for the comment. J
@@Motorcycology awesome and thank you so much! Appreciate your time and thanks for the response!
Do most horns that stop working is the steering wheel spring etc? Or the relay? What Iam trying to say is should I check relay first before taking on the wheel gromets and spring?
In my case I had to put in a new relay first , then I needed to change the horn components because for some reason most times when I made a sharp left at slow speed my horn would go off...so I changed the mechanism in the steering column and that fixed my horn. So I'm my case I need to do both. In you4 case I would do the relay first and see if that works for you. Good luck!!
@Motorcycology I noticed that the relay is clicking when horn is pushed. Is relay bad?
why didn't you install the radiator to support side and top foam/ seals?
That's the next part of this job. I needed to install new brake lines across the front cross member before installing the radiator , foam , and all the other pulleys and belts. Thanks for your comment.
@@Motorcycology ??? Those two components have nothing to do with each other...
I inherited my dad's 69 Vette which hasn't run in 35 years. I'm determined to get it working again and I can't thank you enough for sharing your videos. Seriously, you've helped me through some really frustrating moments! Haha.
So interesting that the Canadian cars got manual chokes, while here in the US we got electric.
I have a US Blue 86 CRX in my driveway that I got from California and it has no choke ...both are cool I think. Thanks for watching and for your comments. J
Great job, super crisp video. It gives me hope for the uncoming job on my C3. Do you also have a video about "fine tunig" the handbrake, because I still can lift the handle up pretty far, with just to little breaking effect. Nevertheless: thanks a lot! Greets from Germany, Niels
Just ordered the same one. Couldn’t pass it up for the price. My husky needs crank seals I’m thinking so would probably cost the same as this to get it fixed. Tks for sharing.
Thank you!!
Same here mine didn't have it and I didn't put it in.
Nice video. Is that stainless steel hardware? Well, other than the shoes?
Id love to talk to ya my uncle has a SI one owner but was flooded in hurricane sandy i still want to restore it but have ton of questions
Please feel welcome to go ahead. I have two other CRXs that I'm restoring as well. These cars are awesome and super fun to drive!
Hey there awesome video what are the details on the fender flairs
DOES THE CHOKE STAY ON WITH ENGINE RUNNING? AND AFTER USE WHEN YOU TURN OFF DOES CHOKE GO TO OFF POSITION?
I just recharched our 2010 Ford Ranger, much to my husband's dismay. It worked like a charm (at least for now), so thank you for this wonderful and easy to follow video. I did notice, however, that the a/c compressor clutch still stopped and started, even after recharging. Should I worry? The air is blowing cold, btw.
What are your thoughts on the ACdelco shocks, how do you like the ride? Thanks
the bolts on sway bar are upside down. bolt on bottom nut on top. not be critical. your videos help me big time!
So how did you actually remove this? '86 DX here. Literally can't find any way to remove the alt without dropping the axle.
You didn’t know what the feet were?! … I genuinely do not know how some people survive. Like seriously, how are you still alive?
Nice job! Thanks for all the tips and walking though thoroughly ! 👍🏼
where's part 2?
your top spring is not in correctly your wheel studs are going to rub on that spring
Good job, I would recommend to use a syringe to draw up all the old fluid, start pumping new fluid from the start.
How come When you are adjusting the Screws it doesn't move
Have you had any leak problems with not using RTV, gasket maker, or adhesive? Thanks for the videos!
Where did you purchase your core support? I purchased one from a well known supplier and I had to do some serious metal grinding to get mine to fit.......even then the 2 lower side bolts don't line up.
I got my corsuport from Ecklers. Based on what you said, I was fortunate that mine fit. Let's see how it goes with the radiator . I've got an original , but it's old and looking at putting in an aluminum rad and I am anticipating a few potential fitment issue even though the rad is supposed to fit. We will see. 😂
Hi - I've got a 2001 ranger, doing what you show but no refrigerant seems to be leaving the can. Loosened it slightly as someone suggested. If you get this would love to know how to troubleshoot! Is it my compressor?
Keep it buddy
I always wondered but can you move the seat back to give you more leg room ?
Great video! Just missed the whole "door handle removal" part. No big deal
Thank you so much 🙏🏽
Omg this is the slowest unboxing I’ve ever seen! I’ve had to push fast forward a million times. Appreciate the video but pick up the pace.
My sister had a black '86 when I just got my license, I often got to drive it, most fun car ever. Might have been an inspiration to get my '89 CRX, which I still have
I bought one of this at Costco very good price, the only thing is that doesn't come with the cover :(, thank you for the video.
Best video for this job out of ALL of them. You really go into detail which is what I need. Never done this before and having to do this tonight on my 79. Thank you very much for this. great job.
AWESOME!!!!!
Awesome Video as always! Thanks!
Hi, do you plan to continue also with restoration of the red piece?
Yes, absolutely and working on the red car this weekend. I've got lots to do on that car as soon as possible . Working on the rad install right now , then front brakes with new lines. Thanks for sending in the comment and for watching ! J
@@Motorcycology Thanks Jonathan, your videos are super helpful. I'm also in the middle of restoring '76 that was sitting in dry barn since 1998. Basically the stuff you did on videos as well - all the seals, timing gear, front arms, all bushings, POR15 ing the frame, fuel pump lines, vapor canister, new brake lines and blocks, master cylinder and power brake cylinder, spark plugs and wires, new distributor, solid motor mounts, trans filter, balancer... Also have new rad support and AL rad ready to be put in car, still need to mount new starter&fuel tank sender unit + new rear fuel hoses and reseal the brake calipers + new e-brake gear. Then hopefully prime it with oil and first start after all those years :)
I'm trying to find the correct switches for my 77. The first pair I picked up were too short for the passenger side, the door wouldn't push the button when it was closed. The old switches that I pulled out, the passenger is about 1/2 inch longer from the nut to the tip of the button. Did you notice the size difference on yours?
Wow!!! As Always Awesome Video!!!! Really appreciate all the time you take to show us C3 guys how it's done!
How did you take off the bottom bolt having so much trouble
i also had a very hard time with mine
Thanks! Video was super helpful! Thanks again.
Why EXACTLY do you zero the harmonic balancer before pulling it? That part is keyed to the crank! I
Hi there.... Greetings from Miami. Thank you so much for producing this very detailed video. I have a 79 Vette that is having this leak issue every once in a while and your video really helps out when I tackle this. I also appreciate you providing the part numbers for ease of ordering.... Kindest regards!
Hi Jonathan... Awesome video as always. Really appreciate all the time you take to show us in great detail how to repair and deal with these C3's. I have a question. I've developed a power steering leak on the shaft end of the cylinder and saw how you replaced the seals on the bench. Can I replace the seals without removing it from the car by basically removing it from the bracket and the hoses and letting it hang from the ball joint? It seems like it can be done but just wanted to check with you..... Kindest regards!
The blue looks better!😎
Thanks ! It is how it looked when it was built , so blue it has to be. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the comment and I hear you. I'll plan on making a more comprehensive video on the same topic later this year! That is for watching and also for your comment. J
