Really cool video Jorge! I've just started working as a software engineer and I'm very curious about routines and habits that other engineers have. Congrats!
Thanks Adrián!!! Being a software engineer is a cool profession, we are so lucky! Just curious, what other videos would you like to watch? I'd love to create vids that help or share more about my day to day life.
As a full remote & flexible software engineer, my day is a bit different than yours as most of my activities are done either at home or in cafes/coworking. When I wake up I tend to not touch my phone other than stoping the alarm. Just thinking about checking my emails in bed raises up my anxiety. Don't you think it's better to do that after the shower when you're more awake? After the shower is when I basically start my day, I meditate for 15 minutes, grab something light to eat, prep the coffee and then jump into emails and planning the day. Afterwards, there's a mixture of coding, planning, sketching, writing. I work on multiple projects, so it really depends on the day. In the evening I tend to keep writing, reading and sometimes watching a movie.
Love your comment, thanks for sharing your day, so cool! I appreciate your feedback about not checking emails first-thing in the morning, it does not generate me anxiety cause most of the team communication happens in Slack (which I uninstalled from my phone), so most of the emails that I check are: company communications, calendar invites, or team emails (which are not frequent and can be 1/2 per week) That's said, I'd like to give it a try to do some meditation. Any youtube channel or podcast that you follow and I can take a look?
Also, I've fantasied with the idea of being a full remote worker, but I see some downsides: specially not being collocated with your teammates to make strong boundaries or the "office environment" where I can talk with other departments. I'm sure you can compensate some of this in co-workings or coffes, but I'm not fully convinced. but I also see the cool benefits. From your own experience, what's the hardest part of being a remote employee?
Thanks so much JC!!! wasn't expecting your comment, but it made my day! haha. You are the best professor ever on algo and data structures!!! Hope everything is going amazing in the big G! Remember, "never eat with an empty stomach" :P
Thanks for watching Joie!!! What type of books do you normally enjoy reading, any recommendation? Also, if there are any other video you wanna see, just let me know 🙌
I was attending that conference. A shame that it got posponed, but I guess I'll see you there later when the virus is more controlled. Great video! Greetings from a Spanish software engineer in Salamanca.
Loved it! Wondering how much interaction there is between overseas and international locations of eventbrite and the Silicon Valley headquarters on a daily basis or, is it more like an independent entity?
Hey dude! It was quite interesting to see how's your daily routine. Now I'm wondering what a Weekend Day would look like! BTW great job with the editing!
Very nice day in the life video and also really good edits. way nicer than mine haha. Liked the commentary over the video, really added to the amazing video! You got my sub. Keep it up man

Hello Jorge, I really liked your video, very cool. I was wondering if you can help me with something. now if I want to come to Spain(or Europe in general) and work as a software engineer, should I know Spanish or English is enough for starters?. gracias my man.
Hey man! Thanks for watching and for your comment. If you work for an international company like eventbrite, English is perfect! In my office there are international people and we all speak English. The only place where you may find some challenges is when doing your day to day routine in Spain. Not all the people speak English but for ordering in a restaurant or purchase stuff you don't need Spanish that much 😜😂
@@ProgramaConJorge thank you so much for your reply I really appreciate it, and yes please if there is a video related to this matter that would be awesome.

Es obligatorio saber inglés para ser ingeniero en software
Para mi si tio, creo que es fundamental. Hay gente que no le da importancia, para mi la tiene y mucho. Gracias por comentar!
