I'm just amazed at how beautiful that cake looks. I love her impish grin at the mention of adding Grand Marnier. I don't understand how anyone cld give this video a thumbs down!
Hello Stephanie. I just love everything about you! Your recipes, your way of explaining & giving exact amount of ingredients, your way of making delicious recipes so simple & your sweet voice. Looking so forward to make this cherry cake. Hope it will be as successful as yours! Thank you Stephanie. 🙏❣👩🍳
Hi Stephanie, thank you so much for your amazing lessons in baking, I've learned so so much from you. I appreciate all your hard work and all your tips and tricks are brilliant, I'm a better baker thanks to you, lots of love xxxxxxxxx
I made this cake again today. Added blueberries instead of cherries. My blueberries did not sink at all. Yummy delicious cake. Love it.🥰 Mildly sweet buttery cake goes well with the tangy blueberries.
OMG I am so happy that Joyofbaking has a frequently updated UA-cam page. I started baking with JOB since 14 yrs ago. Time flies and this brings me so much comfort. 🥺
I learned the trick of using the parchment paper from watching this channel. It was a game changer the last time I made a cake. Saved me so much time on cleaning my pan. This cake looks amazing I will have to try it. So many great tips. I had no idea how you kept the cherries 🍒 from sinking into the cake. Awesome!
Hallo from Germany. I have tried your classic cherry cake recipe and it's delicious. Now I will try this one. Thank you very much. I love the way you cook and explain everything. You are a beautiful person. Danke ❤️
This is so delicious. During the peak of cherry season, I made this several times (too many times). I usually half the recipe in a 6" cake pan and it works great.
Great recipe, just made it this weekend. Cake was really light, moist and tasted like something from a good bakery. Loved the combination of cherry and almond. Thank you for the recipe. ❤️
You always announce measurements in cups and grams. This is wonderful as this part of the world, it is gram and it is more precise. Bravo to you from sunny Bangkok....
Hi Stephanie, thank you so much imparting yr baking knowledge with the various varieties step by step, I really enjoy watching yr videos taking cues of baking, thank you!💗
This cake is such a beautiful combination of a butter cake and sponge cake. It melts in your mouth. It is very flavourful. ❣️ Thank you so much for this recipe 😊
It looks so yummy. Cant wait to try it out but unfortunately cherries are out of season in Australia. So i will have to wait a couple of months to do so. Thank you Stephanie. It's so nice to watch your cooking programmes.
Hi dear i baked this cake is delicious and i would like to tell you i am big fan on your channel in you tube love your perfect teaching and perfect recipe thank you 🙏🏼
Hello frm my sunny island, Singapore.I did e chocolate cake using yogurt n it was delicious n yummy.Always enjoy your baking videos n thank u.Gdnight. 💌
It's like you read my mind. Summer season in India is going on and in this season I can get cherries easily and I so wanted to get a recipe for cherry cake. Thanks
''Pound, pound, pound, get those frustrations out !'' 😂 This cake looks amazing, might be for me a good alternative to an almond cake we eat in France but with Kirsch and I don't like the taste of cherry alcohol...fresh cherries sounds yummy ☺️♥️ Thank you
Thanks Joy! Followed you along with the original video showing you make this Cherry Cake and now this updated one. I made the cake but had to use different type of light sweet canned cherries. The cake was firm, sweet and I tried a slice with the Apricot Jam, WHAM! How did you ever find that combination? Much thanks and I am going through your videos, like Cuisine class 101. From the California Resettlement Capitol of the World, Texas.
Mam, can you please make Japanese cheesecake. I am not finding any reliable recipe for it. I am a huge fan of yours and hence would love to see you make one. Please!
I discovered a way to pit cherries without a pitter. It's not as quick or as fun as using a cherry pitter, but it gets the job done. I used a straw. Just jab the straw in one end and the pit comes out the other.
Hi Stephanie! Been loving your recipes for so long:) Anyways, I baked this cake several times and my cakes keep rising up when I get it from the oven, so it kind of looks like a dome. Do you have any tips to make my cake flatter? I find it nicer if the cake comes out flat instead of looking like a dome:D Love from Indonesia
Hey Thank you for sharing your video. Not only children but also adults will love it. Can I use honey instead of vanilla extract? Looking forward to hearing you soon Bernadeth
This looks like something my husband would really like but I have a question. I canned some sweet cherries a couple years ago. They mostly look whole as I just pitted them and preserved in a syrup. Would that work to use for this cake or do you think they would not be the right consistency or some other reason? Stephanie? I would really like your opinion on this. I often struggle with how to use fruit that I've preserved. TIA
@@joyofbaking Thanks, i will try this time using frozen cherries and not defrost them before because i only have frozen cherries, an i will wait a little longer to bake.I hope it will be ok.Thanks.

This definitely going on the next dinner menu
For pitting the cherries you also can use a plastic straw and force it through the meat of the cherry and it pushes out the pit..works in a pinch.
Looks delicious! But living in northern Sweden I don't have cherries. Any suggestions on what to replace them with?

Yes that should be okay. Or you can just leave out the vanilla extract.

Could one also purree the cherries and add it to the batter? I imagine it would make for a fabulous coloring ☺️.

Hi I really enjoy watching yr session. Btw, I noticed the height of the cake is low. Therefore can we use an 8 inch baking tin instead of a 9?
Yes you could do that, but the baking time will be longer.
Thx gorgeous 💯😋
Nice 👍🙂
Hi Stephanie, can we use frozen cherries? And if yes, should we defrost them before?
I think you could do it either way. However if using frozen cherries the cake will take longer to bake.
@@joyofbaking Thanks, i will try this time using frozen cherries and not defrost them before because i only have frozen cherries, an i will wait a little longer to bake.I hope it will be ok.Thanks.
@@joyofbaking Hi, yes it took longer to bake, and it was very dark but also moist and very delicious!I love it.
Hi Stephanie, can I use cocoa powder instead of almond flour
I’m sorry but I haven’t tried that so I don’t know how that would work.
@@joyofbaking thank you so much, I’ll continue with your recipe 😊

Clafoutis is made with a thinner batter.
