I like the wall between the front door and the living room. Those of us in cold climates don't want a blast of subzero air every time the front door opens.
That wall to the side of the entrance helps keep the LR warm (reduced draft from open door). What about a glass wall at that point? Could be simple, clear (heavy) glass, or tinted or encasing an arrangement of ferns or other natural materials.
What a charming, cozy, beautiful home. I get so sick of bland white everything. It's nice to see lots of color & texture in the living room. 🏡 ☕️ 🌻 🦋 🌞 💖
It’s not about following trends or being cool. I personally prefer an open plan because I love to cook and bake, and I also enjoy being able to interact with my husband or guests/ play music/ watch tv while doing so. It also allows me to have a view of the sea and our garden. I dont like the idea of being cooped up in a separate kitchen. To each their own! 🎉
@@M-de-Vale I agree with you in regard to what individuals prefer. I am commenting on the preponderance of pushing the open kitchen plan in trade magazines and style videos.
Open floor plans are great until you realize the few moments of privacy often needed here and there is thrown to the wind. I'll keep my stuff separate thanks :)
Everything is perfect. No room is bigger or smaller than it has to be. The floor plan is very straight to the point, and leaves room to make future additions. Personally, I would build a garage parallel to the kitchen/diningroom, but leave that big outdoor space there in between...then put a large fence from the garage to the front of the house straight across with tall & skinny trees on both sides of the fence, leaving a nice, big, private courtyard where you can leave your garage from the side door, and go home through the laundry room. And that private space can be entertaining space with a barbeque grill, hot tub, etc...the side window by the dining room table can also be converted to a sliding patio door to access the private patio I'm in love with this design 💖🔥
I had that issue with our floor plan, but we built it on a 4-ft. crawl space foundation that is insulated and heated, and brought all the pipes up through the floor. Outside the pipe to the well is buried well below the frost line (which, in Wyoming, is DEEP). The crawl space, which stays at 62F, is great for storage.
No garage and not enough storage space (cold weather gear, seasonal itmes). The dining nook would be awfully tight for 6 people, a 4-top would make more sense.
@@aschulte7502 We had that same issue and solved it by building a separate 3-bay garage that holds not only our travel trailer but also shelves for storage and my husband's woodworking shop and two food freezers. The garage has its own LP heater that keeps it at 40 degrees in our frigid Wyoming winters so no need to plug in the vehicles or scrape ice.
I live in the Midwest and have brutal winter weather. My kitchen sink/plumbing is on an outside wall and I’ve never had a problem. If the insulation is done correctly, it won’t be in a newer or remodeled home.
We live where it gets below 0°F and built our second house. Insulation took care of outside pipes. They never froze and it’s been 8 years and several brutal winters. Now inside is probably ideal but not an absolute.
This is my favorite so far and thank you for putting curtains at some of the windows. I always wondered if curtains were not used because maybe they made the room appear smaller. Since most of us would put up curtains this is much appreciated to show us how our rooms might look. I love everything about this home EXCEPT for the under 1,000 sqft.. I know me and I've gotta have at least 1,250 sqft. to feel comfortable. Such a cute little home though.
My parents went into the home-building business when they were middle-aged. She often designed the homes. One of our first homes, had an intercom, built-in vacuum, and custom cabinetry with 2 fireplaces. It was a full-foundation ranch with an office, family room, laundry room, and two-car garage. I don't remember how many bedrooms it had or bathrooms it was over 60 years ago. I hated it! I found it totally cold, cold meaning the energy it gave off. I love the home shown on this channel. Who wouldn't love the front porch? The lovely stone shown throughout. Maybe that is a mudd room shown at the other front entry. Can't wait to see the inside. To me, this is a truly beautiful cozy home. Of course, I have always enjoyed simplicity over luxury. My Dad was a Taurus and loved his luxury well that which he could afford.
What a lovely little home! The finishes both inside and outside are beautiful plus the layout is very practical. The exterior is charming with its porches. For one person this home could work well. I think I would need something around 1200 square feet to accommodate additional storage space, an office/studio, and a bit larger kitchen and living room.
I LOVE IT! My dream home! The only thing that I would change is to have white or a pretty shade of blue cabinets in the kitchen to make it brighter. I love the master bedroom! Perfect house for a single person or married couple. Love the entrance to the outside from the Laundry room as well! I want it!🥰
Lovely! We expanded a similar design up to 1400 square feet by adding a 3rd bedroom that we use as a studio/office and a large separate laundry area that adds a pantry for the kitchen. It's perfect, and it has enough space to socialize with friends. We went through the 3,700 sq. ft. ridiculously large house stage (crazy), but what are now called "tiny houses", just a few hundred square feet, while practical and economical for singles, are not large enough to accommodate having friends over. The size we now have is perfect for me and my husband, but could also easily work for a small family with children. Open kitchen, dining, living area with floor to ceiling stone fireplace.
@@Katepwe Sorry, what I wrote was confusing. No 1100 sq. feet is not tiny. I was referring to the houses of just a few hundred square feet that are all over UA-cam and referred to as "tiny houses." Reworded above.
And not that good actually. I own one and will be swapping it for a different brand when i renew my kitchen next year. I was taken in by the looks but there are many beter functional frigdes out there. I have actually already decided to go for a seperate freestanding larderand separate freestanding freezer. I can't wait to be rid of it.@@catherineanhari7573
I would remove that wall on the right side of the entrance and open up the living room. That would give so much more space to the living room and make it feel more welcoming and cozy. Otherwise a perfect plan and I adore the exterior.
Totally disagree, sorry. I currently have a 1000 sq. ft. duplex where the front door opens into the living room. I feel the lack of privacy and visitors have no place to put their belongings except dropping them onto the furniture.
I really like this design. It looks like there is a bit of shortage space in laundry room, which I love, and the hall closet. I would take out extra window in family room and do floor to ceiling bookshelves on both side….only because I love books.
I think I’d take the wall out to the living room to make the living room look bigger. You can still have the other side the way it is, but that small wall is making the living room too small but otherwise I love it.
Bigger doesn't always mean better this looks so cozy and comfortable quite spacious tastefully designed with ample privacy with kitchen and dining separate from living area 😊
Love the entry hall, and the living room is very cozy. I also love the fact there are so many wall areas to hang art, I have a lot of art. I probably would have only one window on the far side of the dining room, maybe that would make a bit of an area for a microwave. And the refrig is small. Perfect master bath. Nice house, I wouldn't call it a cabin lol.
Absolutely stunning home. Just enough space. Easy to clean and heat/cool. House has good amount of closet space. Love the exterior of the house lots of charm. I would have no problem living in it. Well done.
Great design. I especially like the extra storage areas, the art on the walls, textiles and other furnishings that make the house seem warm and inviting. Nice entryway space also.
I love your designs. But I saw your videos on fb, and knew it was from here. There were so many comments there asking for the specific floor plan and other pertinent questions but no one would answer. Then, I attached the links from here so they could watch the video from your channel and know the answers to their inquiries but seemed like my responses had been flagged on that page. The name of that page, is Living In A Tiny. Anyway, Kudos to your team and these magnificent designs. Keep them coming. 😍😍
This is a much nicer house - bigger and more confortable - than a tiny house built for one person. I like the design and decor. I particularly like that both bedrooms have an in-suite bathroom. Yes, two people can definitely live there comfortably AND even have the occasional guests stay with them if they so desire.
I agree with the living room side wall from the house entrance side being taken down. This home reminds me of our childhood beach house in Greece! Spending half the day at the beach and the rest in the bbq/garden/porch...what else can you ask for? I love the land lot as well...
Fantastic house. The only thing I might change is to reverse the hall bathroom so that the toilets back up to each other. This would probably require a privacy wall between the toilet and sink because the door would be completely visible from the front door but the cost of using the same stack for the toilets might outweigh the view.
I would move that door in the laundry room to the side of the house. So they can assess the backyard more. And so that people don't confuse it for the front door. Move the washer and dryer over to the other side of room, and put a window there instead of door. Edit - I would also put a window on the last side of kitchen, I guess it would go out to the porch. But the kitchen feels tight otherwise.
Love everything about this home inside and out! Just Beautiful, the only thing I would do differently is put a round table instead of the rectangular so it doesn’t look cramped. I have the exact same color couch except ours is a very large sectional. I dream of downsizing someday, we are blessed don’t get me wrong but I’m getting tired of cleaning such a large home. It’s a full time job.
I like the overall floorplan. I'd design it to have more of a rustic feel inside and add a bit more to the wall for the living room so that the entrance to it wouldn't be quite as open. The room sizes are great, though. Only thing I'd add would either be a basement or small barn out back for a decent sized home studio. 🙂
Only a couple of problems with this house floorplan. First, there isn't enough counter space in the kitchen even with the L shape extension. Since there is no built in microwave, I assume it would be a counter top model. That would take up a good part of what little counter space there is. Make room for a built in microwave. Second issue, the driveway access to the house is either by the laundry room or the main entrance. In terms of convenience, unloading groceries from the car to the kitchen is easier through the main entrance. Unloading the car through the laundry room would mean carrying bags through the laundry room, down the bedroom hallway, then turning right into the kitchen/ living room area. That's a long haul. I am a senior, living alone. This access is a negative point for me. There is no other purpose for the laundry room door unless it's there only for an emergency exit.
Finally an interior that lives up to the exterior! A beautiful house!
❤❤❤
Bigger (and more expensive!) is not always better. This house is precious and has plenty of room, I love it and would be very happy living in it.
This is my dream house. Absolutely perfect inside and out.
I like the wall between the front door and the living room. Those of us in cold climates don't want a blast of subzero air every time the front door opens.
I would be so happy in that house.
Yay, the kitchen is separate from the living room! And there’s more than one door to access the outside! Thank you 🙏🏼 ❤
❤❤❤
Love it - I’d be my choice too 🤗♥️🙏🦋
ome more door to access is one more door to burglars, not safe for me...
@@carolatenea2I have to agree with you there. That's the first thing I thought by the laundry room 😢
That wall to the side of the entrance helps keep the LR warm (reduced draft from open door). What about a glass wall at that point? Could be simple, clear (heavy) glass, or tinted or encasing an arrangement of ferns or other natural materials.
I love the sweet coziness of this home. The layout is perfect and efficient, too

What a charming, cozy, beautiful home. I get so sick of bland white everything. It's nice to see lots of color & texture in the living room. 🏡 ☕️ 🌻 🦋 🌞 💖
I agree about the interior colors. All white interiors are bland and unimaginative.
I bought a 2 br house 32 years ago and I'm still there. I never felt the need for a big house - too much maintenace, heating, a/c and taxes.
Yes. Make separate kitchens "cool" again!

Cute house. I’d take it over a big house anytime
I really love it, I'll only add a garage.
One design issue for cold climates, utility sink and kitchen sink are on outside walls. Never bury pipes in outside walls, they will freeze.
I had that issue with our floor plan, but we built it on a 4-ft. crawl space foundation that is insulated and heated, and brought all the pipes up through the floor.
