Note to Self: When going to space in a space ship, remember to bring a space gun instead of a space ax. Space guns are lighter and more compact and (probably) better for killing space monsters and giant evil space men; and a space gun will probably fit in the same space as the space ax with space left over to bring a space saw to cut down space trees.
Poor Shaw she loses her lover, gives birth to a monster, her whole crew is dead, except David, then gets attacked by some giant engineer, I would cry my eyes out too.
One thing that always made me scratch my head was how the creatures in this franchise grow without food or nutrition. The writers just chose to ignore the basic science that food becomes body.
I think it would of been more fun to make it a slightly bigger face hugger, not the giant octypus, have the engineer get locked in the room trying to get out and have him turn around hearing it run around in the shadows and then have it fight with it like ripley in aliens.
Shaw was a badass. Its was seriously disappointing for her to get killed off at all let alone how she died. David was a coward and probably offed her in her sleep

Sadly she didn’t, he did the “event” in Alien: Covenant as a gift to her and when she went after him for such a horrible act he restrained her and experimented on her until one day she couldn’t take it anymore and passed. To sum it up her last moments were a living nightmare and David treated it as the most beautiful thing that could happen to her, he wanted her to be more than human.

@@brazz1578 No doubt! He took care of everyone else pretty fast back in his ship. Had she been left to her own devices, her expression may have been different. I think her expression might come from the fact that she had a plan in mind- release that xenomorph and let it do the dirty work! Fortunately, she gets the door open so the beast can take care of business before the engineer can really gets his hands on her. Then, it's game on!

I think Ridley Scott wanted to make an Ancient Astronauts movie, and the studio wanted him to make an Aliens movie. So they compromised, with this weird mixture of both that could have been better if they'd gone solely with Ancient Astronauts.

There are anomalies in these creatures. I don't know if they are smart or very aggressive. And if you look at the next movie, people aren't afraid of him, and if he tries to telepathy, he doesn't eat them. He is then shot with a gun, the creature in the movie covenant.

It has to have a very large source of food just to account for the matter involved, and digestion is not an efficient process so it takes about 10x food in to produce body mass out. Say the squid is 200lbs, it would have to eat and digest roughly one (1) US ton of food, and even if you say it has nearly perfect digestion this would require about 300lbs of food. You can and should fudge the specifics, but you can't create matter out of thin air. That's just magic at that point.
And this lovely character was killed off screen and replaced with an even more generic character. It's like they don't even know how to make movies anymore.

Movie's dialog was really weak but the acting of Noomi Rapace did an incredible job. Combined with the fantastic photography it almost saves one of the most boring movies I have ever seen.
Noomi Rapace definitely saved the film for me. Not one of my favorites but definitely at least *watchable* and it's largely because of her performance, as well as Charlize.
Even if we had questions to Prometheus, it turned out a 'masterpiece' compared to the following Covenant. Hope they won't ruin it all with the next one.

when i first saw this movie i didn't know much about alien Lore to notice the easter eggs thru out. i didn't realize it was an Alien prequel until the post credits scene, but looking back all the events leading up to this GIANT facehugger were masterful in plot

I totally agree, poor selfish humankind, the last of its kind, ruined the engineer's plans. Then, as if to hasten evolution or as if to take revenge on their planet?
I don't know if David invaded their Planet.
The people decided to attack the engineer after selfish talk. Why would he listen to them for so long if he wanted to attack?
I love that movie, unfortunately if you read the comments you will find the most nonsense type of arguments to say the characters are dumb. Prometheus is the best movie from the franchise: best design, best references (creation, evolution, paradox) everything is there.

When she got to the part of being abke to run and jump...RIGHT after INVASIVE SURGERY, I just started laughing in the movie theater! NEVER show stuff like that to a person who has had an operation; it gets so silly!🤣🤦♂️

They did have her drop and pause and express pain several times at various points. But yeah, even with that...
when i first saw this movie i didn't know much about alien Lore to notice the easter eggs thru out. i didn't realize it was an Alien prequel until the post credits scene, but looking back all the events leading up to this GIANT facehugger were masterful in plot
The creepiest part is being able to kind of see the human form in the facehuggers back when it gets the engineer on the floor
