- If you follow me on Instagram, you might already know that we went to Germany. We stayed with Mike’s Oma in a picturesque village overlooking the Alps, and we had the opportunity to visit so many historic buildings and see many of Mike’s family members.
Honestly, the entire visit was a dream come true and we are beyond thankful that we could go. While sharing our adventures in Germany, I had a lot of people ask how Mike and I met, and how he ended up in America. We sat down and recorded our story and I hope this answers your questions!

I have tears in my eyes hearing about the depth of love and the measures that your Heavenly Father took for you to come to Him, Mike. He brought you over an ocean, to a completely different country so that you could learn about and receive Him. It’s just so astoundingly beautiful the way that He loves and brings His children to Himself with nothing held back. What a beautiful Savior!

What a beautiful story, Andrea! My husband and I have been married for 46 years and our story is a lot like yours. My dad was a Baptist preacher and preached up to the week before he passed away at 91. My parents reacted to Jack pretty much the same way your parents reacted to Mike because he was not raised in church. After a lot of prayer from my mom and dad, Jack was saved under the preaching of Billy Graham. And needless to say my parents were thrilled!! Of course he became active in the church and still is today. The bible tells us that God works in mysterious ways. I truly believe He brought us together even though we lived totally different lives. He's my best friend and I couldn't imagine my life without him. Sorry this is so long but I was surprised at how much we have in common with how things turned out for us. 😍😇❤❤

God certainly knew what he was doing when he brought you two together. I love that you give all the credit and glory to God. I love your story! My husband and I started "liking" each other in the 9th grade. We dated all throughout high school and have been married for 43+ years. We have 2 sons and now have 6 grandchildren. We have so many memories of "growing up" together. God is the center of our lives. I followed all your stories on IG while you were in Germany. I will probably never get to go to Germany so I really enjoyed all the photos you shared. Thank you Mike for being on the video. You are an amazing man of God and I can see why Andrea fell in love with you. And of course, it is evident why you fell in love with Andrea. God is so good! “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken” (Ecclesiastes 4:12)

My heart is full and overflowing with hearing yours and Mikes testimony. There are tears of joy for what God has done in your lives. When I look at Mike I see a humble man with peace. Thank you for sharing. Your story reminds me a bit of mine as my husband is my high school sweetheart too. And I told the Lord that he was the man I wanted to marry. Well I know we don’t get to tell the Lord what we want and expect Him to bless it unless it’s His will. God is so good and has done so much in our lives and in our grown children’s lives. Our youngest son was far from God and into drugs and women but God has brought him back full circle and he married a beautiful Christian Woman a year ago in March and they are now expecting a new baby in July. And one of the best miracles is that he is now an assistant pastor. 😅God bless you and your family. ❤❤

You guys are the cutest couple and still in love after 20 years and 4 children later, that is awesome. I’m born and raised in Germany 🇩🇪 and met my husband as an American Soldier stationed in Bamberg , got married and lived there for 5 years after his tour in the Army ended and had 3 daughters. By then my husband was itching to go back to the States and we packed up kid and caboodle and moved back to his hometown in Massachusetts, that was 40 years ago. We had one more Daughter in 1985 . I’m soooo happy that you are taking a trip to Germany, you will love 💕 the country, the people and the food . It will be a very special experience . He also speaks fluent German, and we are trying to teach it to our four children. Only God can write such amazing stories bringing people together like He does, and build such amazing marriages.

My husband is an immigrant, too. He came when he was 4 years old when he came to America from Fiji. My dad came to America when he was 14 from Portugal. I went to the Azores in 2019 with my family it was a dream come true. I'm so happy for the both of you! One day we will go to Fiji.

Your story is a precious one and we are blessed that you allowed us behind the scenes to see how good God has been to you both. Your story could have gone very differently had you rebelled against your parent's wishes and carried on a relationship with Mike without them knowing. Praise be to the Father, you did not. I love this Andrea - my husband and I also sat together on a bus when we were College students traveling to our respective schools during our practical teaching blocks. For five weeks we chatted about everything, became best mates, and ultimately fell in love. That was almost 37 years ago 😊- your trip looked wonderful and so special. Thanks for sharing your journey.
Engaged at 15 my story is extremely similar. Soon to be celebrating our 50th. Now we have been welcoming grandchildren and watching our children becoming wonderful parents as well. I’m sure you’ll agree with me that God gives us many wonderful blessings.

Andrea… my husband and I met in 1965! I was a sophomore, and he was a senior. (Different schools). We met through mutual friends. On our 3rd date he told me he loved me. That was discouraging to me. (I thought he told that to everyone he dated). Long long story …. We’re still blessed to be together. We have two adult children and 3 grandchildren. Love your story!🌷

I truly believe that our fate and destiny has already been preplanned for us. We sometimes don’t understand what life throws at as at the moment but in time the layers reveal themselves. What a sweet video-I found myself crying with you. My husband lived in Germany also. He came back home and was born again soon after. God drew us both to the same church. I gave my life to Jesus and we met and soon after got married. We have been married for 40 years and are still in love and serving Jesus. The best is yet to come-how close is the return of our Lord? I love when you include the boys and Mike in your videos. Tell Mike we appreiciate him making the video, since he doesn't seem to like the camera. Germany is beautiful! I visited there for 2 weeks and didn't want to leave! The food there is so fresh nothing compared to here! I was 18 and went with no family, just church members to have fellowship there in Germany. We went everywhere and to France as well is so much fun.

I've been to German four times and love the country...especially the good food. Having travelled extensively, I'd say that the quality of the food in the USA is very poor. People in America eat food that is deep fried, heavily salted, overly processed, excessively sweetened, and filled with chemicals. We'd be a healthier nation if we ate like Europeans do. I control what my children eat and I make just about everything from scratch. Is it time consuming...of course! But is is so important to be healthy.

A sweet story, a sweet couple. When I 1st starting teaching, I rented a room from a lady who was a war bride and grew up in Stuttgart. Her grandma owned a bakery and she made wonderful black forest cake and fruit tortes. Lived with her for decades. She became my 2nd mom. My dad's grandparents came from Berne, Switzerland.

I was stationed in Hanau (by Frankfurt) over 40+ years ago. Loved the country and the people. I was able to return to Germany with a friend I was stationed with, way back when, about 3-4 years ago. We revisited Hanau and I saw the Kaserne we were at, along with the area. We went to the Black Forest, Bavaria and back up. Such a blessing it was! A lifetime of memories!

Glad Mike found his purpose in life, and you. I fell for my husband when we were in the 3rd grade. We were never in the same class again. Met him again two weeks before we graduated from high school. He was at my door the next day and we are celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary, soon! (we dated 4 yrs through college). Hope you're blessed with many years together as we have had.
What a wonderful story…I so enjoyed it. I too came from Germany (in 1955 when I was 5 years old.) I also lost much of my German language. I hope you had a fantastic trip and that Mike had a wonderful reunion with his family…..especially his Omi. I look forward to your future video of your trip there…..Germany is breathtaking and I always encourage friends to make a trip there at least once in their lifetime.

Sweet Andrea I just love this story I’m a mom grandma great grandma. And I certainly relate with these kind of stories in my own life when my mom saw my husband with long hair, short shorts, coming down the street and she said no way ha ha ha and now married for 51 years! Two beautiful children, six grandchildren, for a great grandbabies feeling very blessed. it’s amazing how God just turns our stories around he’s made a plan and his plans are always perfect.
