- Today, we’re training for qualifying for the Coney Island Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest this July 4th. Still got a lot of work to do, but I’m determined and I’m only gonna get better. Nice to see your sub count climbing steadily, great intro. made me lol. For Jaw strength I remember chestnut saying he used to chew a dog ball, I bought some cheap jaw exercise things, but Jawzercise is the brand that's advertised the most... cheap ebay or amazon ones work too. But a great way is just eating a lot! lol.... I've never counted how many chews per minute those top competitors are doing, but for the better part they're just better at swallowing larger chunks of food quickly... Nice Run!

For swallowing quickly maybe try to clear the mouth after each hotdog ... doing a dozen one at a time, and then you can practice breaking down how many chews needed for each swallow, I have a feeling you're chewing food that is already chewed thoroughly just because you have some bigger chunks in the mouth you're trying to break down... I haven't practiced hotdogs but I would try keeping the mouth clear before starting the 3rd one...
could also try to clear after every second one... after the second bun is in then go for a few small sips of water as you swallow them down, before starting #3+4.... sips of water inbetween will help clear throat quicker as I always find even a small sip every few bites helps push the food down way faster.
I’ve thought about doing this and clearing the mouth before starting another hot dog but was afraid it would slow me down. Definitely gonna employ this strategy next time 👍🏻
