  • Makeup rules to follow for Red undertones
Finding the right shade of makeup to wear when you have a Red skin undertone can be tricky, especially blusher as it can enhance an already red complexion. I had lots of questions from many of you saying that you couldn't wear the pink and Red shades I'd recently been using - so this film is for you! For those of you with Rosacea check back for my past films with Rosie Green where you can pick up tips and tricks on that topic too.
Let me know which tips have helped you the most.
    Have a great weekend,
    Caroline x

Ladies, do all of you know if you have cool, warm or neutral undertones?! For the life of me I’ve tried to work it out and always end up in every category!! 🤦🏻‍♀️ I think I’m more neutral than anything else. At 65, I’ve never done the full face of make-up look but, watching Caroline has given me more a more adventurous vibe! I love this channel - it made lockdown days much brighter. 😘

Reading through the comments, it shocks me to see how many back handed complements and complements that are negated with a negative... here you are taking your time to share your skills and knowledge with us and some have either lost the ability to keep the negative thoughts in their heads or are not well equipped at communicating. You are amazing at what you do and I very much appreciate you sharing this information!

This is what I need! I've always had redness around my nose, as I've got older my nose started as well and I look like Rudolph half the time. Now my eyelids are doing it too.
Most products I find either cake up and are obvious, or look great to start with but disappear in an hour or two 😢

I picked up Rosalique after your recommendation in another video and love it ( even though I don’t care much about the brush it came along with - promotion set package). I don’t like wearing foundation & generally prefer a more natural look and it gives me exactly the soft base I was looking for; even out skin tone, no more redness but still allowing my skin to show through. 😊 Thank you for keeping things real!

Hello from Sweden! Love you chanel. I picked up Rosalique after this video. I put it in and it flakes. What am I doing wrong. Can you not apply to bare skin? Do you need moisturizer first? You did not mention that so applied it to bare skin. Wrong?

@@jennyraphael5843 Hello! I am sure you expect a reply from the creator but since I had this issue, I thought maybe I could help. It has flaked on me twice: once when I didn’t wait long enough for my moisturizer to be absorbed and another time when I applied too much at once. Hope it helps 🙂

Beautiful look. I was really puzzled though when you started putting on those eyeshadows, they just looked awful to me but what a stunning effect after all the blending and mascara. This is a very classy, non scary, look for us of the florid face. Gotta trust the process, as I’m always learning on a Saturday morning! Thanks.

Beautiful look, Caroline! You’re so knowledgeable as well! I’m a fair skinned neutral however I have some redness in my cheeks, not sure if it’s rosacea or sun damage. I’d give anything for you to have a look at my face and recommend some colors/products! I know that you don’t usually do that kind of thing, however I trust you and your decisions so much that I’m hoping you’d take a few minutes to help a fellow woman out who is roughly your age. 💗 I’ve never used bronzer in my life! I’ve purchased the Rosalique and am excited to try it along with all the great tips I’ve learned from your color corrector video. Also appreciate the notes on the concealer. I’ve been noticing my concealer is bringing out my lines and causing creasing and you made me understand I think it’s simply the texture that’s no longer working for me so I need to get something delicate. I find rubbing anything cream into my skin makes it redder so powders applied gently with a soft brush can be a good way to go. The Jane iredale pressed base and blush are nice. Then I use a setting spray at the end if I want it to look dewier.

I tried Rosalique but sadly I am far too pale for it, and years ago I used to use Boots No 7 Green corrector and looked like an advanced heroin addict. So finally in my dotage I have settled on using a good neutral toned, very pale, foundation; Max Factor Lasting Performance in Fair and that seems to be the best that I can do. I would like to see a video on concealing undereye shadows. I have very pale skin. Many of the products out there are either too dark-dark peach-or too pale-a sort of beige peach-to cover blue shadows. I have cool toned skin. Could you show us using a model, since you have warm toned skin?
I have never been able to use bronzer; it just looks muddy on my skin. It looks lovely on you.

A colour correcting video would be great. I tried to use these products in the eye area and got a lot of greases because it was too much product together with (a small amount of) concealer.

Very nice 👀. I agree with Helen: very Hitchcock. I request a discussion about ethnic skin tones. I have a warm skin tone, but my hair is very cool: dark ash brown/black, of course with gray thrown in 😂. I don’t see any discussion on the inter webs on this and I think your with experience you’d have a lot to say😊. Thanks for your videos. I enjoy watching.

Hi there Caroline, another great video...I was wondering if you could help me though and tell me why in the past/present when I have done my makeup my eyes look red, almost blood shot and it's not an allergic reaction please? x

Thanks Caroline for the informative video. Question: can this type of makeup be used on medium tone (neutral undertone) with redness on different areas on the face? You mentioned not to use cooler colors as warm and cool is a big contrast. If not, what would you recommend? 😊😊😊

Yes, I vote for a color correction video but with an important focus:
How can mature women color correct around the eyes and have it look good ... Because that skin is so delicate or thin?! You said here that the skin around your eyes is too delicate to hold the heavy Elf concealer. Well, that's the issue also with color correctors. They are either too thick and noticeable on the eye (pixie product) or they are the liquid types that crinkle the skin (ie: the Neutrogena peach corrector).
Please solve this issue for ne, dear lady. ❤

Hi Caroline. Beautiful makeup. Loved the way you did the base. Yes please to a colour correction vid. I struggle a little because I’m very pale, cool toned Irish skin. So pink undertones, but with some redness. If I try warmer shades to counteract (like the lovely caramels etc) I just look ill. What would you suggest? X

Hi Jennifer I'm a super pale/cool toned Scottish woman with rosacea. I can't wear the warm caramel tones either - looks ghastly on me as there is no warmth in my skin. Beware the rosalique (which I have tried) is for light to medium skin and looked orange on me. The Dr Jart version is a bit lighter, but still not light enough for my skin. I'm the one with the vichy green corrector and it works on pale skin - leave to settle for five minutes and then apply base on top. As to shades for the cheek and lip I love mauve - the cool purple undertone is very flattering. if you want to go more nude look for a pinky neutral which is neutral enough, but not yellow or warm based. Our skin needs a bit of pink to look natural, but avoiding true pinks or corals can help disguise some of the excess pink/red. I hope that helps.

Yes I have cool toned skin and would never use a caramel colour. I have a No. 7 pinky brown blush stick (have had a few years!) that I always find flattering. I am always wondering if I should use a sl yellow toned foundation to neutralise my skin a bit as apparently Bobbi brown recommended that.

    • @lorainemcgillivray77

@@elaineblair5038 It depends just how cool toned you are tbh. I can't wear a yellow toned foundation, but sometimes I can get away with something more neutral toned. Samples are the way to go so you can use them with your own stuff and check in good daylight re the shade. hope that helps.

Tarte shape tape corrector in peach for instance is a new corrector that apparently has great cover, lasts all day and doesn’t crease . You put your concealer over the top of course all in light layers tapping gently . ‘ 😅Notfit forprincesses’ on UA-cam is currently doing corrector comparisons trying them all out and so far Tarte is by far the best.

I really like the Tarte Park Avenue Princess bronzer. It’s very light and cool. I have Rosacea so the struggle is real. The Wayne Goss Weightless Veil Blush in Desert Blossom is pretty neutral. It’s on Beautilish. KVD ModCon Liquis Gel Contour in Fair is cool and light. Don’t forget you can always use an eyeshadow to add some depth to your face.
