Gezuar is from the word for happiness... Property tends to be expensive in the old areas and regulations on materials can limit you. BUT there are flats that offer good value near the dome hotel and near to the new bridge
We just walked over there last night ... to the Dome Hotel. From a distance I thought it was a city building or something else ... but nope, just a nice hotel. LOL! It feels a little out of place. You just reminded me ... I honestly don't know what rentals are like here. I didn't check. I guess I know what I'm doing this afternoon. :-)
@@rickhiggins long term rentals are fir a simple 1 plus 1 as low as 350 euro for a reasonable place but get an Albanian to help you. Landlords are not good with damp or privacy at times. So get a recommended landlord for a long term let. There are utility on top so allow another 150 euros per month. Any big purchases you need to go to Tirana or I would be tempted to go to IKEA in Greece and get cute over import duty... You do not pay fir oersonsl used items
This is fundamental my dear Watson! According to my research, the cost of 1 pint of beer 🍺 in Berat is approximately 250.00 Lek = 2.73 USD. Therefore, you absolutely should move to Berat👍👍👍
@@Box-7733 the price varies for brand and location... Local beers are cheaper with Korce and Peja being my preferences. In a place called Milot I thought that beer was expensive at 350 Lek but I got 500 ml not 340ml... The food was cheap and good but I was with an Albanian family
@@Box-7733 that is a big issue. I know a guy from Long Island who was trying to buy in Berat for a guest house and shipping was kot good. US vehicles are not ideal in much Europe so I woukd suggest that you drive a hire and then decide! One US friend found the driving in the mountains a challenge... Rick should go gently to Polican from Berat and realise that us good

welcome to my motherland! so glad you came vëlla
You know, if you taxi up and walk down, you could pretend to walk up and it would still count as exercise!
It's the town of one over one windows, as in stacked on top of one another, not a thousand and one windows. It was a misunderstanding.
So pleased that you found Lili... It is hard to explain but you did well., gezuar

There is road that you can walk and be there in literally 15 minutes. It’s a straight walk. lol
Yea, I found that one. After I walked around the back side of the mountain. LOL!
@@rickhiggins Enjoy Albania it saved my life during the Pandemic . Been living there since.

That makes sense! A bus 🚍 might be too large? Maybe he can sell the bus and buy a used Sprinter Van in Europe? Is there a place to park a RV in Berat?
Rick found RV park. So buying a van and doing another built would probably be cheaper @Box-7733
