Some details from the interviews: - You can play solo or with up to 3 people. If you don't have friends you can choose to group with randoms. - Communication isn't required, you'd slap a ping on the map showing "I'm going here", whether teammates follow you or do their own thing is up to them. When night comes you're all teleported together for a boss. - There is no PvP. This is not a battle royale. Think of it like Remnant 2 but with a map that shrinks and you have 3 days to kill stuff to level up/find loot/abilities to take on a final boss. - It is perma death during night so if all players die to one of the big bosses game over, during the day you respawn. - You revive teammates by attacking them. Big AoE attacks that hit bosses and downed allies would hurt the boss and res allies simultaneously. - 8 pre-defined classes that each have a distinct playstyle and starting gear. You can replace all this starting gear as you play. - Typical gameplay loop would be under 1 hr to progress 3 nights and fight final boss. Game is meant for replayability with enemies/loot shuffling between runs, hence "roguelike".
The 8th character might be that weird looking Goat man who does the healing spell. It would make sense since there should be a healer class and we are not against having monster characters with the bird man.
Taking quite a bit to process 4K still but I wanted this out since I'm already being flooded with questions about my thoughts! The video that has a full breakdown of game details and the interview is coming in a couple hours but it's taking longer to process!
I know you might not be able to fully disclose this, but what all can you disclose, from the email that Bandai told you to keep an eye out for during stream.
You know as I grow older I have realized that I am developing a niche for the what games to play. This combined with not having sufficient time, you are God sent since you try all the games out there and I can pick and choose what to buy. So thanks :)
Hi cowboy idk if you reply or not, I just beat Gael which was the last boss of all the fromsoft games I've beaten this year. Immediately I was like "man I gotta wait to see what's next" opened Twitter and boom new eldin ring game. Anyway, long time fan thanks for what you do man.
Have you tried Monster Hunter World yet? Been a fan of Fromsoft since the original Demon souls back on the PS3 and recently got into Monster Hunter, if you're looking for another challenge I would definitely recommend.
I’m pumped for this. I like that this game is a separate experimental experience that is more like appetizers until their next big game. Miyazaki is looking for new directors and trusting the combat designer of Elden Ring to direct a new game is very wise. Remember, Fromsoft is at their best when they trust others, a la bloodborne, sekiro, ds2.
@abdhq2299 ds2 has a lot of great stuff but it's still not amongst their "best". It's not me trying to go along with the bloated ds2 hate everywhere but it still can't be put in the same sentence with their "best" work
I think what excites me most about this is it's a tight, short game you can hop in/out of without having to commit to 100+ hours to finish it. I love all the Souls games, Elden Ring, etc, but they're (esp ER) a bit of a chore because of the scope and time commitment (which I love, but with a couple little kids, not easy to make the time). The idea of a 1-hour ER experience is highly appealing. My only surprise is no PVP, that is a staple in these games, but I guess it makes sense given the tight focus on completing a 'miniRPG' in 3 game-world days. Excited to get my hands on this!
I saw that lots of people are salty about this. This is clearly for dedicated fans. They are experimenting new game concept. Looks like Fromsoftware is committed to have yearly releases. While we are waiting for their next big thing, they will put smaller stuff like this. And it is great.
So a few things I noticed a lot. It sure looked like they used the pile bunker to stagger the centipede demon. It was clearly a pile bunker animation. 4:18 That light Greatsword sure as hell looks like a MOONVEIL on a light GS. EDIT: Also this game isn’t directed by Miyazaki. So that means we still eating good for 2026. New IP for sure from Miyazaki.
imagine the final character we get to play as is solaire! It would make sense as a need of a healer could work and as well pulling of characters from other soul games.
The fact that even with the details so much of this game is still open to discussion is exciting. I wonder if they will use successes from this for their next release? Maybe we next big game will encourage more multiplayer content?
Remember when Miyazaki said he was going to direct efforts to help with projects not done by him specifically within the studio? I think we can say this is one of those from a new developer at From Soft
Thank you for the response. My question and initial concern was more around the “night area” closing in as time expires - you will die if outside the “area”. Feels like it will kill exploration etc (was hoping for more standard Souls / ER with no time limit). Was just seeing if I was off base and was a bit disappointed as I was hoping for a legit sequel.
