  • The National Hurricane Center is monitoring several areas with potential for cyclonic development:
Tropical Cyclone Potential #1: This is a low-pressure system located over the Gulf of Mexico with a high probability of developing into Tropical Storm Alberto. This disturbance will generate heavy rainfall and tropical storm winds over Texas, Tamaulipas, Coahuila, and Nuevo León. A tropical storm warning is in effect for Texas and Tamaulipas.
A low-pressure area located in the southwestern Atlantic. This disturbance has a 20% chance of becoming a tropical depression before moving over the southeastern United States. Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina should remain vigilant.
A new low-pressure system is expected to develop over the western Caribbean waters. Conditions are projected to be favorable for new cyclonic formation in the Gulf of Mexico waters early next week.
