Thank you 🙏🏼
No problem
Please make a video for n20 Catch can install
It is much easier on a 335i pre 2011 ! Hose space on top
The vent hose cracked while installing my metal turbo inlet pipe, so I had to go grab one from the bmw parts dpt for $130 and realizing now that I did that, and spent the effort getting it tightly screwed in there, I could have save myself the time and money and got a catch can instead
That hose is 130?! Well if it makes you feel better the catch can hasn't caught any oil yet so you don't really need it.

@@FritzRamos that does make me feel better haha, thanks for your reply! Do you mind if I ask if you're daily driving your car with the BM3 stage 2 you have?
Was there a lot of fluid that was caught using this?
I was wondering if I could use the provided hose in the kit? Bc it also has a thinner set of nipples inside the kit. So is the wider hose needed or can you use either ?
Hi Fritz cracked my charge pipe recently and I want to see how clean my charge pipe was and it definitely has oil in there. Is this necessarily bad or is it normal definitely going to install a catch can soon
It's normal to an extent. Check to see if you have any oil on the throttle body. If you're lucky it was only a minimal amount that didn't make it up that high. In any case you could install an oil catch can and valve cleaning spray to prolong the walnut blast service. How many miles do you have?
@@FritzRamos 40k miles on the car. I’ll check the throttle body and see if there is any oil in that
I have almost 60k on mine and have caught basically no oil in the can. You should be alright
It's been a while since you posted this video. I was wondering how this was holding up and how much oil gets caught by the catch can. I am considering it for my M235i, but it seems the community is pretty divided by if it is needed or not.
No oil yet. I know what you are talking about, but I figured that it couldn't hurt and who knows what could happen as the miles add up. If things change I'll let you know.
@@FritzRamos Thank you for the reply, really appreciate it :D
@@FritzRamos any update? still no oil?
Still no oil as of this week. ua-cam.com/users/shortsz1BWR3yM7V8?feature=share
Nothing. ua-cam.com/users/shortsz1BWR3yM7V8?feature=share
I know my M240 has a different motor, the B58. Will this video relate to my car?
Should work for any car, but I have not picked up any oil so far. It seems that BMW has done a good job on newer models form the n54
How much oil have you caught and at what rate?
I haven't caught any yet. Looks like BMW remedied this problem from the n54, but time will tell
@@FritzRamos Thanks Fritz! I had kept hearing anecdotal claims to that but no one ever had concrete evidence. I look forward to hearing if your experience changes because putting a can in my F22 has been on my mind. Thanks for the M235i specific content! It is great quality!
Update on your catch can? Im still debating if i want to buy one i have a friend with n55 that hasn’t really got much oil in his can
@@Anthony-mp3ox It is not needed. I had a Burger Motorsports catch can on my 235i with fbo and with the Pure turbo. No oil.... Took the catch can off because I noticed the car was consuming more oil. Now the consumption seems back to normal (low consumption)! I checked the valves too while installing my HPFP and they didn't look bad. Save your money.
anyone else caught with major anxiety at 7:00 ????
Good point, I shouldn't have done that. Thanks for pointing that out
You did put the catch can in the breather, not the PCV
You will not catch any oil here.
The goal is to catch any oil to prevent it traveling down the turbo inlet. He did it correct by installing the oil catch can via the valve cover vent hose.
@@raulmartinez3484
Catch can must be after PCV valve, maybe I’m wrong, and he did put it in the correct place. I’m not BMW boy.
In my Chevy Camaro there is catch can on the breather line from factory, but I did put a catch can between PCV valve and air intake, it’s working perfect , It catches about 30-50 ml (oil+benzine+water) every 4k-5k km
Good luck
@@SuperCarSweden There is no need to put a catch can on a PCV valve on a N55 BMW. PCV valve is basically held in place with the Valve cover. The only way to remove the PCV valve would be to cut it off, but that will lead to vacuum leaks and cause rough idling and poor vehicle performance. It's also supposed to be capped on top and it doesn't lead to anywhere. It might work for a Camaro but not for a BMW.
@@raulmartinez3484
You didn't understand me, thanks anyway.
Good luck 🍀
