@Herman Greenfield Sweetheart first off if your gonna insult me try and spell, stick with your big red crayon when you write cos your not very competent with your finger. Now calm your passions halfwit and enjoy real men marching not terrified half starved North Koreans or Robotic Chinese.
Herman Greenfield Hahaha you can’t compare the mass band of the British army to any other. No country has anywhere near the quality when it comes to bands. There is a reason the grenadier Guards band is flown all over the world to perform at the cost of millions because they are the best. This year the grenadiers are organising the trooping so it’s going to be extra special.
To the foreign viewers there are 5 regiments of Foot Guards the unforms all look incredibly similar? Well yes, but you can tell them apart by the button arrangements on the tunic and the decorations on bearskins. Coldstream Guards - buttons in groups of two - red hackle on right hand side Grenadier Guards - single buttons spaced - white hackle on left hand side Scots Guards - buttons grouped in three - no decoration at all Irish Guards - buttons grouped in four - blue hackle on the right hand side Welsh Guards - buttons grouped in five - white and green hackle on the left hand side Hope this helps.

Red was a form of camouflage, because from a distance all the red blurs into one - that's why British soldiers are called 'redcoats' because all British troops used to wear red tunics in battle.
Not so, locally produced Stroudwater red cloth was reasonably economical, reasonably dyefast and looked good, at least temporarily. For rank and file, when on campaign their cheaper red coats quickly faded to a russet red. Officers wore scarlet, but no-one needed camouflage on the 17th century battlefield. In addition, until about 1700 some regiments were still wearing grey, blue, or green coats.

@Herman Greenfield, under penalty of death, it's the leftist way.
Keep spewing that well-chewed lie.
@Herman Greenfield That the government's of China and North Korea are conservative. Pity you ran out of your brain medicine just as you were getting started.🤯.
Coldstream Guards - buttons in groups of two - red hackle on right hand side
Grenadier Guards - single buttons spaced - white hackle on left hand side
Scots Guards - buttons grouped in three - no decoration at all
Irish Guards - buttons grouped in four - blue hackle on the right hand side
Welsh Guards - buttons grouped in five - white and green hackle on the left hand side
Hope this helps.
Kudos to you sir, a voice of reason in a sea of ignorance :)

In addition, until about 1700 some regiments were still wearing grey, blue, or green coats.
in 1988 i saw the trooping of the colour in person and i loved the british grenadiers song.it has stuck with me ever since.
