    different shapes and designs will give different sound signatures and shock absorption. A strong plastic, for example, is one way to prolong gearbox shell life and also avoid damage to the cylinder and cylinder head pad. POM is one of my favorite materials for tappet plates and piston heads.

      They also explode with hard springs lol

      @midwestairtech Рік тому +2

      @@Daniel-vu4qu depends on the plastic and design. G&G piston heads shatter like it's their job, but Lonex POM piston heads withstand DSG builds.

      @@midwestairtech does POM stand for polymer?

    • @midwestairtech
      @midwestairtech Рік тому

      @@diasf13 No, polymer is the proper term for what people typically call "plastic". "Plastic" actually refers to a material behavior. POM is a type of polymer. If you Google it, you will see the long name which it stands for.

    awesome knowing it doesn't really matter which flat piston head i use now as long as i take the 2nd O-Ring out if it does have 2 O-Rings (thanks for that tip!).

    Tips is glued it with superglue before installation

    I personally use the one with the O-ring on top. would rather have that rubber wear out than allow the metal on metal friction between the piston head and the cylinder. Just my preference

    Nice vid thanks. Q= Do ICS use standard cylinder heads, piston heads etc?

    • @adzzzysarmoury
      @adzzzysarmoury  3 роки тому

      Off the top of my head ICS use flat piston heads not the silent/domed ones as standard. To be 100% on what parts you are going to get for a build. I would always suggest taking your gun apart to confirm what parts you plan to upgrade. This will show you what you need to get.

    what about boreups? arent they bigger in diameter and bigger to fit in a standart cylinder?

    • @michaelmok3646
      @michaelmok3646 2 роки тому

      Bore up is to increase air volume slightly in your cylinder. Full kits cylinder kits are usually required.

    So in general just stick to single o ring piston heard instead of double, since we will remove the top one that it has?

    • @adzzzysarmoury
      @adzzzysarmoury  3 роки тому +1

      I'm my personal opinion, yes, I remove the very thin oring at the front because when it is in the cylinder I feel the piston is slightly tighter to move back and forth in the cylinder and I like everything to be smooth but still have perfect airseal. 😁

    Hello ! Good video about piston heads.
    Do you know why I have lower FPS after changed to CNC specna arms piston head with bearing ? With the stock one i have at least 20m/s better speed.
    The cylinder head is tha same in the 2 options ... thanks

    • @adzzzysarmoury
      @adzzzysarmoury  Рік тому +1

      Could be a number of reasons. Might be that the new piston head is not providing as good airseal. Also make sure that it is running smoothly inside the cylinder when the gearbox is assembled. It could also be that the bearings that are on the inside of the piston that hold the piston head on are taking up less room inside the piston meaning the spring gets compressed less.

      You can get piston heads at most Airsoft retailers, you should be able to identify the style you want from the pictures the shop has on their websites. There isn't a specific place I would say you have to buy them from.

    04:40 I wouldn´t take off that small o-ring. It keeps the pistonhead more in center - otherwise the tooth of piston will eat the cylinder. Pic on my ig.
    Thx for that video. 👍

    Metal piston head can cause cracking u're gearbox

    • @adzzzysarmoury
      @adzzzysarmoury  Рік тому +1

      A couple of gearboxes out there are more likely to crack at the front than others. Not due to the piston head used.
      I have used metal piston heads on hundreds of builds along with POM piston heads and have not found them to break gearboxes.
      If you Radius the front of your gearbox this can help extend the life of a shell as it disperses the impact force of the piston coming forward.
      Using unnecessarily strong springs is more likely to cause damage than the type of piston head.
