  • In this video we visit the Princess Sodalite Mine in Bancroft Ontario Canada. This is a "seeded rock farm"
The Princess Sodalite Mine is a great place to take pebble pups (little rock hounds). It is also a fabulous place to begin rockhounding if you are an adult. They are constantly adding new material and there are always surprises even for more seasoned rockhounds.
On this visit we show pyrite, moss agate, agate, unakite, amethyst, Auralight 23, mica and of course sodalite. Off camera we found corundum, some interesting calcite, various marbles, serpentine, red quartz (red aventurine),
Travel with rockhounds Stoned and Wired and enjoy our adventures along the way. Join us and our border collies Lady and Lizzie as we travel to collect crystals and rocks from anywhere and everywhere. We travel in our Camper Van called Blanche which has had many modification to make it the perfect vehicle for our adventures.
Don't let the names fool you. We are all about the rocks. Any other interpretation is, of course, all in your head. However, you can find us TRIPPING along a shoreline or FLYING down roads HIGH in the mountains. Our camper van is often LOADED with rocks and packed TIGHT, even UNDER THE TABLE. I am often told "It's too heavy, Lucy, It's too heavy" But who can resist stones GLAZED in crystal, LACED with minerals and LIT by magic. We find crystals RIPPED from the earth, BASHED by the waves and BAKED by the sun. We collect rocks SLOSHED by rain, STEWED in water, and FLUSHED out by wind. The stones are often SMASHED out of mountains or HAMMERED from cliffs. Sometimes the rocks get TIPSY and we get PLASTERED as we are BOMBED by falling rocks while being FRIED in the sun. Though the van has never been TOTALED by an avalanche, it has suffered by being UNDER THE INFLUENCE of a FEW TOO MANY rocks. We make sure nothing is WASTED as Blanche is TANKED, and JUICED up. Once she has DRUNK her fill and we have hung THREE SHEETS TO THE WIND, we'll be FEELING NO PAIN and ready for the next adventure with STONED and WIRED Adventures.
New Videos are usually up on Tuesdays.
2021 Hamilton Ontario Canada to Hopedale, Labrador, Canada.
Stoned and Wired Adventures are Stoned (Doug) Cause he does the stone work of course and Wired who does wire smithing (Doug's wife). We are joined by Lady and Lizzy our boarder collies. Occasionally friends, new and old, drop in as well.
We use a Spark drone (he's called... what else?... Buzzed) as well as a GoPro Hero 9, and a Nikon D5600 with a backup Nikon D50.
We put it all together with the assistance of GoPro plus cloud storage as well as Wondershare Filmora.

I couldn't agree more. Princess Sodalite was one our first places we visited in Bancroft when our Love for Rockhounding started more than a decade ago. Its a must Do for families and beginner's.

@@stonedandwiredadventures definitely a polite young man. I remember as I grew up walking down my families dirt road seeing various rocks. And I always wondered the stones origin. That's what started my interest in collecting a few stones on every family trip.

Love the video!! We too are on our way to the Princess Mine. I just had to leave a comment about the titanium quartz comment. Titanium still comes from the earth. Even though the quartz and titanium don't happen like that naturally they are still earth materials. Alchemy is something that has been practiced for 1000 of years, the monks and the ones that found using precious metals and quartz created a much more amplified effect for both the metal and the quartz. I myself find that the aura quartz that has been through an alchemy process with different metals are AMAZING when it comes to healing, meditation, and chakra work. Just had to put this out there as a quartz lover and collector ;)

Really interesting video! I'm closer to grandma's age and have visited the gemboree a couple of times probably a decade ago. I'd like to dig too and I've never done it before. Your enthusiasm is fun!
