Thank you. We were so lucky with the weather but it did change in a few days time. All good fun.

Hi Lisa, Hi Niall, absolutely brilliant, wow you have been so blessed with the weather up to now. To get that weather through that leg you should feel very lucky. I bet it can be wild up on the top.
Keep it going guys, looking forward to the next part already, all the best, Dave 😀🥾⛰🏕️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Hi Dave. I think you know of Iain Frew, he made a really good series on the CWT, well when I watched his Skye video it was too misty to even think about going up on that ridge. We did look at the weather forecast a lot and delayed by 2 days or else it would have been too rainy for us as well.
Sadly the weather does not last for us but on the whole we did alright. It was good to get tested by bad weather but defo things are a lot better in the dry and yes we certainly felt lucky. Cheers Dave.

@@tubbatravels Hi Niall. Yeah I watch Iains channel. He’s doing the CWT again at the moment isn’t he, or maybe he’s probably finished it again now.
It’s a bit like any trail in this country over a period of days you’re bound to get some inclement weather. And even if you get a decent forecast the chances are it will be wrong. We got really lucky on the Cumbria Way, hopefully we will be as lucky on the WHW next year.
Enjoy the rest of your week and have a great weekend. 😃

Great weather for it looks spectacular! A bit cold and breezy with a trekking pole tent up high that's why i prefer a two skinner on mountainous routes👍😎

Looking back on those videos it doesn't look real to me and we certainly appreciated it at the time. I would say it was a hard ol hike, like the seven sisters at Beachy head if you've ever walked that route on the south coast. The problem with my two skin tent (Vango Banshee, I've had it since I was a kid) is it's too heavy. The Duplex is a tough cookie and with Delta pegs it is quite bullet proof and very light but I do not know how it would be in snowy winter conditions, i've not tried that yet. Always good to hear from you Snowy, thanks man.

Hi Niall and Lisa, stunning scenery at the start by the second Loch, looked like some tough hiking😮. The views over towards the car park were incredible, bacon buttie looked good 😂. Great little poem too 👍. The old man of Storr is impressive

Hey Glyn, yes the return of the dodgy poet. If we had carried on further on day one it would have been good to camp half way up that hill but the man, now retired, at the hostel was so welcoming we stayed there. Also there are no loos half way up a hill.
I do love a bacon buttie but in Coventry it's called a bacon batch. I must be losing my coventryism. Always good to hear from you.

Thank you and well done again on completing the cape wrath trail.
This is a great hike. 7 days or less. You know where to camp now, go and do it, you'll love it.

@@tubbatravels Thanks Niall. Adding it to my to do list! I'll probably head back to the Lakes again next though. I've heard there's a thing called The Lake District Round that takes about a week. Or maybe The Cumbria Way!

@@macewindupage check out daoutdoors. He makes these short little videos. His Cumbrian way series practically do the planning for you. It looks like a great hike. It's on my mind that one, it looks really calm.

Awesome stuff Niall and Lisa! It looked a bit chilly at times. Great views from the ridge. What time of the year did you walk this? I was hoping you may have gone into the Quairang. Its a hidden area behind the pinnacles near the needle you mentioned with a flat grassy table. Seemingly they used to hide sheep and cattle in there when invaders came. I only found out about it when i got to the car park and read the signboard!

Hi Iain. It was a bit confusing up there as my GPS said to go one way but the map indicated going up in the direction of the table. We saw the quiraing from below . Both I think would be great . Yes it all became clear when we got to the car park as well. I think I'll return to Skye and do the Quiraing circular to get the best of both.
We did this in October last year.

On this day we sure did. The next stage was the strongest wind and the stage after that rained all day. That's Scotland. Thanks for commenting.
