@@Mister_Listeneryes? It’s good for makeup to look fake. Not just for normal or elegant makeup, it’s specially good that this show’s makeup looks fake because they can go to far and make it of putting. Which matches the whole plot of being an off putting story, with the Nazis and the encroaching danger side of the story
@@eddielouisemoran5881 it's a stage musical, not a movie remake. Musicals are performed with new casts, directors, etc all the time and it's interesting to see what they do with it even if you can't get to the stage, which is why a proshot would be nice.
Oh my days. What a production! Id never seen Mason in anything previously but the portrayal of Emcee was the perfect balance of fun and menacing. "Money" was my favourite song. Fabulous!
New art direction! I love it, given that usually the Emcees fall into the "Joel Grey-Alan Cummings" aesthetic monochrome binary Love love love this explosion of pre war color palettes
@@stahppls2293 it seems like they brainlessly applied glitter everywhere and made themselves look androgynous like kids in 2024 because someone told them CABARET was edgy. Will this help with the storytelling? I dont think so. It just looks inappropriate historically.
@@Mister_Listener while I see your point, I’d like to disagree. The colors in the costumes contrast drastically from what is actually happening outside of Cabaret. This show is obviously during the holocaust, and to fill the space and color and glitter is contrasting exponentially. I think it really adds to the musical, and it makes you think about the way people make their life seem glamorous to ignore the hell that is happening around them.
@@Nico-Callahan valid point but that’s kind of a weak device to use for the purposes you describe, and the audience might not perceive anything except inappropriate. Why wouldnt they be dressed in period clothing, is my sticking point. But. I am sure it looks pretty and, maybe there are lighting and costume fx beyond glitter that i am unaware of since i havent seen this version? Such a great discussion, thank you for sharing. THEY MADE A 2023 PERFORMANCE HOLY SHIT. I wish I knew about this when playing in Cabaret last year it was such a fun time and would have loved to see others do this play
Oh, my! This looked absolutely stunning! The colors and designs are this lovely pop of vibrant life in the background of the dull blackness of the historical context. It's such a lovely juxtaposition... and it tugs my heart.
It feels like a very stylized 2024 - Las Vegas version of that time period. This shouldn’t be your favorite, because you lose the heart of the show, but it looks like a lotta visual fun.
Am a fan of the movie and a huge fan of this production that i saw two nights ago….don’t really understand the need to compare or rank them.for those criticizing it…did you see it….?
I went to see Cabaret tonight at a local theater. It was my favorite film growing up into this day remains as so. I was quite shocked to see that highschoolers were the ones performing all of my favorite raunchy bits😂😅🤦🏼♀️🥴
Probably would kill his wallet. Why would anyone go see a musical played the same as it was 60 years ago when it’s been so long even the MATERIALS available for costuming aren’t the same. Tastes change and we live in a capitalist society were we have jobs and need to make sellable productions
I like the different/updated looks and styles; every great city has gone through periods of explosive creativity throwing off all the old rules so maybe it doesn’t have to stay wedded to Weimar Germany 😏 This clip also makes one realize the MC role does not have to be cast male (in truth almost every role can be both gender blind and color blind)
i think the doll style is cool but the whole point of cabaret is humanity and how easily it can be corrupted as well as purely human emotions within an inhumane time and i think it kinda takes away from that
THIS is how cabaret was meant to be performed: raunchy, bizzare, grimmy. its perfect
Lots of glitter and aesthetic for something meant to be "grimy'
@@thatvalensteingirlthey aren’t mutually exclusive
Bc its both flashy and grimy, it's the era of Divine decadence after all @thatvalensteingirl
nonsense. is over the top and too affected. nothing can top the original. sorry.
Disgusting
I adore the hair and makeup. The fact they look so fake, so doll-like, is so incredibly fitting. Just brilliant, looks great.
INTERESTING. i prefer the realistic look.
Its not the compliment you think it is…you like when people look fake? Uh. Ok.
Yes! I love it it’s so unique and contrasts the show and message beautifully!
@@Mister_ListenerThey're talking about their makeup. The makeup is pretty smooth and the colors are bright and stark like how they could be on a doll

PLEASE 😢
I think it would lose all the immersive aspects, but yes I agree it deserves to be recorded.
No, we really need to stop remaking classic films. Just watch the original

This is probably the greatest production of Cabaret you will ever see.
Doubt it
This is your first time watching it then.
I saw it and it was SO cool and immersive
Uh. No thank you

ugh i NEED a cast recording with mason alexander park in it or a dvd of the full show or something. i am willing to spend just give me a reason!!!!!!
This production genuinely changed my life.
I can’t wait for the Broadway transfer this spring. I’ve been obsessed with this production since Amy Lennox sang Cabaret at the 2022 Olivier’s.
Same same same! I wish I lived closer to NYC because I would die so happy if I could see this production.

I NEED TO SEE THIS 😍😍
Im in love with the whole cast already
Feels very Baz Luhrmann. Like Weimar Germany was just one big party.
Saw it tonight, its sooo good!
I watched the cabaret on the 24th of January this year, it was awesome.
Beautiful art direction
Remind me of the Club Kids!
This show was something else I’m so glad I got to watch it this year 🤩
Saw it in London, the ensemble was amazing! I love this new direction of the costumes and makeup, I think it’s very fitting for the show.
It’s crazy how sleazy can be classy
I love this whole show

It looks amazing! Was it filmed?❤❤❤
Where is George Santos as the MC? He said he was in it!

Mucha producción,muy llamativo pero no refleja la época en que transcurre que es Berlin 1931 parece el Cirque Du Solei 😮
70s and 90s versions>>>>>>>>

😍
Is this the one with Eddie redman that everyone is talking about?
OMG CABARETTTT
Such a good story I often cry when I see it

Oh heck yeah Mason is absolutely perfect for this role but there’s nobody like Alan Cumming.
why is 1920's germany so diverse?
There were plenty of black people in Berlin at that time.
