I am also looking to go back and get my Master's but I just can't decide which route I want to take. Even though the Coast Guard is going to pay for it I want something I can use to help me advance. So good luck on your degree and hope you learn a lot and are able to put it to good use.
Love your videos! Could you talk more about this program, like its difference from the in-person cs master program such as course design and other stuff? Also, would the diploma be the same as the on-campus program? Thank you for sharing!
I was also *this* close to choosing Georgia Tech for undergrad! I'm a freshman so definitely too soon to think about grad school, but I'll be sure to consider GT again when/if the time comes!
I've been thinking about doing the OMSCS program as a college junior in computer engineering. I think I like the Computing Systems track but I'm honestly still undecided. What track are you doing currently and why did you choose it?
super late to this video, but welcome to tech 🐝! as someone that's watched your videos since high school and loved your content, it's pretty cool that we're both in the same school now haha (currently an undergrad 3rd-year CS major with an aerospace minor). sure you'll kill it here, and hope you love the experience :D!
Hey Josh, big fan of your videos. As a fresh USC grad I'm currently applying to OMSCS. Out of curiosity, why did you choose to specialize in Interactive Intelligence (I thought you were a big ML person? saw II on your linkedin) Thanks!
hey I think your music is a little to loud in the mix and the vocals seemed low, just a tip because I had to turn the volume down a lot when the music came on
I just finished my 7th class in the program. I spend a lot of time on the harder classes, but i only had a CS minor. I’m curious to hear about your (expected) course selection and how the classes compare to your undergrad.
I will watch later. I am trying to get alot done. I was concerned when you were deployed to LA. Glad for you to go back to college. I pray you get to leave before anything pops off , including the Cascadia Subduction zone. I am in S. La.. No telling what might happen here with the New Madrid. I hope you can leave La.. I see this video not long. Does not sound like you get to leave. You are in my prayers. My son took medical leave from his senior year at Yale. He didn’t want to vax. I am praying he can get things straight.Hes still ok with his scholarship for now. I have been praying for you Josh. I will continue. ML
But dude, online degree is never the same as actual full-time Master's degree. Mainly because of the lack of experiencing campus life and interacting with your peers.
as someone in omscs, this particular master's is tailored to the working person but I've got to experience (remotely) in my first year a hackathon GT had and I'm doing a vip project next semester (basically a project where you work with other undergrads/grad students the semester on a research topic). there is also (depending on the course) a lot of interaction on discord and slack with other students. grad school is more for yourself than having a fun time/making friends in college, to be honest.
Yay, Josh! Super proud of you 🙏🏼Hope you really enjoy your grad program 🥰
Congrats!! I support this all the way
I'm planning to pursue a graduate program in computer science in fall 2022. Thanks for making the video & good luck with your degree!
Thank you! You too!

we love TA
You should give him your number and give him something sloppy
Thanks for all of your support on my last video!! Wanted to get this one up as soon I could!
Wow you’re doing great. Good luck
Hell yeah OMSCS is legit. Good luck!
thanks!

Will do!
0:50 - 1:10
I couldn't agree more. People kept cheering. Also, good luck. Didn't know you work in the military. Which branch?
Space Force!!!
Marine Officer, currently at NPS getting an MSEE. Thoughts on transferring to Space Force? Know anybody who has done it?
Going to get master's degree so you can keep up with programming skills, when there are tons of online tools and resources
What did I miss? How did you end up on the West coast. I can relate. I left LA and landed back at Columbia. The flip flop.
how much debt did you accumulate getting your Bacherlor's degree at Yale? how much is your masters going to cost?
0:21 nice for loops and if statements my guy

Definitely would love to see a video about the program and what its like
coming soon!

How do you like being in the Space Force? What is your rank?
NGL masters degrees in technical fields are very cool. You get the opportunity to specialize and learn some very cool stuff.
totally agree

just watched your 11 minute video on your cs degree. i feel nothing but sympathy for you. what made you want to pursue a masters?
we love to code what i can i say
Wdym sympathy?
What do you think of the Imperial College's Master in Machine Learning vs OMSCS?
Imperial College's seems more appealing, but OMSCS is cheaper.

that's just a placeholder for now based off the courses I was most interested in taking

awesome, I'm definitely looking forward to getting deeper into the program!
Nice! I'm also currently enrolled in GA Tech OMSCS. What specialization are you going for?
Where do you live now?
I live in LA!
Were you working full time during your Bachelors? I'm currently full time and want to make sure I have enough time outside of work to succeed in CS
I only worked part-time during my bachelors, but I'm working full-time now!
@@JoshBeasley thanks for sharing

That's what's up bro
Super interesting

I agree, but I can’t do a full time masters and work full time simultaneously 🤷♂️

I don't think many people go and get a master's degree to experience campus life and interact with peers.
cool man I have a question are you active duty?
indeed I am!
You have UCLA and USC right up the street.
