Personally if Fanatec is sold to Corsair then to me it will be a brand to ignore as Corsair sounmd like they want to entre the Sim Racing market with out doing the real work.
A couple thoughts.. first.. if a UA-cam content creator can do “substantial irreparable damage to a company” the size of Fanatec, then they are a paper tiger and fragile. Second, if Corsair is already pumping money into Fanatec to keep them solvent, then there is likely a legal obligation and a contract already in place. Corsair isn’t just going to give them money as charity, it will be for a return on investment backed up by legal obligation. Third, how much legal authority does TJ actually have over the operations of Fanatec? If the company is being operated and controlled by other leadership, I dont understand how his Asian negotiations could have any power. My only thought is if he personally owned patents on the products, he may have some leverage to yank ownership of the designs and send them to China. It’s a very curious situation that I fear will lead to a legal quagmire, that ultimately will do the REAL damage to Fanatec.
The SIM Racing community is not very large and the internet is the primary source of sim racing information so yeah if a youtuber has a large audience, they potentially can do some damage in decreased sales and reputation However, if the youtuber was reporting actual events and not making anything up, then no damage done, they are just reporting what happened.
If Endor is bought by either Xiaomi or Corsair both are excellent options. Either way, the components themselves will likely be made in China because it is hard for anyone else to compete on quality or price. The amount of debt Fanatec have is peanuts. A certain amount of debt is required for growth - especially when earnings are well in excess of interest. Software development might be better if done in the US but will see how it plays out. Corsair is certainly a good match offering a premium line of computer hardware and peripherals.
