- For the first time on the crawl, we cross over the Shropshire border and visit the Medieval town of Shrewsbury where there are a plethora of amazing old buildings and pubs! This town has a real sense of something special about it and we managed to get through 19 of their drinking establishments on this first visit!
Very good. Shrewsbury needed to be a 2 day event tho as other half missed. with boathouse, armoury, other wheatsheaf, anchor, Shrewsbury hotel , kings head , 10 an 8, salopian. The Alb , bird an beer , ( quick division to the dog and pheasant! Worth it ) tap an can , bulls head. Vaults , glouglou and oil ! So 12/13 more 😊
Glad you enjoyed our town, please visit again you have lots more town pubs to visit yet!
Thanks for visiting The Admiral Benbow.
I’m the manager there and remember you popping in, glad you enjoyed it!
See you next time
Great Video! The armoury behind Monties would have been a great final spot if it was open
Missed the beer gardens of The Nags head & Cromwells. Love Shrewsbury 🥰
Next time 🍺
Superb Town, cause i live here👍
Great showcase of Shrewsbury Pubs. 👍. The Lion is a hotel, recently used for housing refugees, but now empty and may be back open soon apparently.
Fingers crossed as its a beautiful looking building 🍻
Shame you didn't make it towards the station..three fishes and tap and can are fab up that way, when you next come
We'll definitely be back to do those soon mate
Not watched the video yet, but I hope you said yes! was my old stomping ground from 1991 to 1996ish, we would come over from Newtown for a 'classy' night out. Loved it back then.
Scrolled past that quick and thought I saw ‘ can you have a good night out in Sainsbury😆..you probably could😂
Not a bad choice of pubs you visited but missed the best ones
The Lion was hosting asylum seekers, so closed to the public. Now reopened I understand. I live in Shrewsbury, you are right, fantastic town.
Shrewsbury is not only beautiful but is a pub/beer lovers paradise, pretty compact with as you say stunning architecturally interesting pub buildings. I think everyone who goes there thinks it is going to be a fairly bland town, as it never really mentioned, but it is anything but and also nearby the lovely Shropshire hills. The locals may disagree but a few more tourists would even help keep some of those fantastic boozers going, but can't wait to have another visit just wish it was a bit closer to Wiltshire!
You missed the Wetherspoons which is around the corner from Montgomery Towers at the Shrewsbury Hotel.
I would've thought Shrewsbury is pretty much banging for good drinking pubs. Using my Ratebeer places: Population method, it's 51:78000 which is 1:1500 roughly. That's good.
It's a super town!
@@thegreatbritishpubcrawl Salopian Brewery do good beers.
You missed the best place in Shrewsbury, the Three Fishes, an amazing old traditional pub with good local ales. Thanks to your video I discovered many nice places to go, specially the one with Estrella Galicia, I didn't know about it, the Exchange.😊
We didn't 'miss it' mate... there are still over 20 pubs left for us to do in Shrewsbury. We can't get everywhere in one night so we always save certain places for the return visit 🍺
Haha, thanks, glad we can help introduce some new places. We're looking forward to coming back soon 🍺
Shrewsbury looks to have changed since I last stayed there in 2015, stayed at the Lion Hotel,& a nice pint of Hobsons was served there, has the Armoury gone along with the Bricklayers Arms, and the other back street corner & victorian pubs?
If you’d headed down towards the Station, you’d have found the Tap & Can micropub, the Tumbledown and The Alb - my ‘locals’ when I was there.
All to done on Visit 2... very soon ;) - looking forward to getting back there
@@thegreatbritishpubcrawl excellent
The lion has been used to house immigrants so is closed to the public. It's a beautiful building inside.
Try the kings head next time 🔥
Most definitely mate
Very good. Slow down the chat please. You are rushing through it. 😂🤣
E's are good
'es ebeneezer good 😁
Definitely are......in the right place of course.
you missed the Three Fishes on Fish Street and the Salopian Bar
How did we 'miss' them? All in all, we still actually have 18 pubs in Shrewsbury to visit and as is always the case... we always go back to places to do the rest 🤷♂️
It's a shame everything was reversed behind you!!! But thanks for the nice words about our lovely town, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I've tried reversing the videos round but then the outside of each pub and the names of those are the wrong way around haha... I figured them being the right way is more important than the shops and stuff 🤷♂️
Great video but slow down we got dizzy, old people like us lol love these videos , weve motorhome and need to know the pubs , prices etc but really put us off with the frantic videoing
I don't really know what I can do about that mate. Have you ever tried filming videos when drinking all day? Haha... I do my best to help people find the best pubs, often stood outside in the rain and the freezing cold so please forgive me if I move around a bit
The Salopian Bar is the best in Shrewsbury for Real Ale choices. You missed it, just near Spoon!
We didn't 'miss it' at all... this is only trip 1 to Shrewsbury... Salopian is on the list for visit 2!
@@thegreatbritishpubcrawl Excellent, my problem with Shrewsbury is that I cannot seem to leave the Salopian bar! But the town's history is fantastic. Percy Throwers town too!
Ahhh when you got to Monty’s and started talking about Wetherspoons, I was willing you around the corner to the Shrewsbury Hotel 😂 You would have preferred that. Great review of Shrewsbury💙💛💙 You definitely need to return to visit the pubs you missed 👍🏼
