Dude, simply put the capped hives on the smaller hive. There is no need to get it that tall. We are talking injury of some accident. Also, there no need to use a bee escape. The bees get along just fine.
So we pulled off two capped boxes to put on that other hive for safe keeping. We are going to extract here in a couple weeks and didn't want to make a mess just to have to do it again. Also we don't have a good way to store the capped supers without worrying about pests getting to them without them being on a hive.
