  • In this video we have to move two full supers to a lower producing hive as the hive was too high.

    Yep, more neighbors noticing = more problems = more honey you have to give away to keep them quiet! Looks like you have plenty though! Having bees in there is probably not a problem. Also you could just shake them into the colony or at the front. It upsets them less you'd think and definitely than banging the boxes does. Take care.

    Dude, simply put the capped hives on the smaller hive.
    There is no need to get it that tall.
    We are talking injury of some accident.
    Also, there no need to use a bee escape. The bees get along just fine.

    You have a tall one there, why not pull off the already capped boxes?

      So we pulled off two capped boxes to put on that other hive for safe keeping. We are going to extract here in a couple weeks and didn't want to make a mess just to have to do it again. Also we don't have a good way to store the capped supers without worrying about pests getting to them without them being on a hive.

      That's a tall hive, 7 full supers? That's over 200 pounds, looks like your bees did well this year.
