you should check out Pokemon Platinum with no damage by smallant. One of the hardest challenges I've seen.

Lv1 team challenges are pretty easy after gen 4, (original diamond and pearl) gen 5 and onwards you have all the cheese mechanics you need.

And posts the ones where he faces salty and toxic players who can't believe they lost with their team full of legendaries or Overused Pokemon. Personally, I think at least some of them are staged, but this is what it's referencing I think.

In Dragonball Goku meets a little android girl created by a nice scientist who’s the protagonist of Dr. Slump. In Super she shows up for an episode and can beat Goku and Vegeta. Vegeta even says he’ll never fight a “Gag” character again.

Pain split probably works on Ghost types because the move is technically targeted at your pokemon rather than theirs.
I'm pretty sure it's because pain split is a status move and immunities only work against attacking moves.

"I Made Mario Party in Real Life" is probably the most hilarious video on that channel yet, although it's pretty lengthy, so if you'd rather watch something shorter first, my personal recommendations are "Minecraft, but if I say 'mine' things get weird" and "I put a cookie recipe through google translate 30 times". Looking forward to seeing more of your videos!
