- An historic trial opened on January 8 for the West African nation of The Gambia. Ousman Sonko, a former high-ranking member of the dictatorship of Yahya Jammeh, is in the dock in Switzerland for a series of alleged crimes against humanity committed between 2000 and 2016. Victims of the dictatorship have high hopes for the trial. FRANCE 24's Sarah Sakho and Simon Martin report.

Jammeh have made mistakes but i can tell you 100% that, many of the killings, he was not even aware of it, i have been planning on visiting Gambia many times during the jamneh era but for some reason it never materialized, when i finally visited, someone told me, there have been reports that I'm part of the people that used to tarnished the image of the jammeh regime, i never have any business in government, or even talk about it, this is how many people end up being killed through false accusation by people that just want positions.

Gambia went through very hard 22 years of Jammeh without any doubt. The present government seems to be not the best,if not there should have been very clear efforts to bring Jammeh to justice. Jammeh must rot in prison for making hell out of the Gambia.
Most of the stories narrated here are simply exaggerating.... although part of it is true but anyway God knows the truth and shall judge us all either here or hereafter.
