    I could listen to these talks every day. I loved the part where Steven talks about how people from poorer countries can't take the responsibility for caring for the environemnt or climate change or even bigger issues. It relates so much to Maslow's hierarchy of needs and if they haven't met some of the basic needs, it is really difficult to move onto issues such as animal cruelty and sustainability. The idea of allocating your time correctly and that beauty is actually in the choices we make is fantastic. Found this conversation really beneficial. Thank you Mo!

      The poor dont care about issues that dont put food on the table.. and the rich WEST make up bullshit to be outraged about... somewhere in the middle is a happy medium!! I WANT TO LIVE THERE!!!

      But in the so called first world countries there are also people barely surviving, without the basic needs being met. In the uk it’s almost impossible to have healthcare, even children with severe mental illness are on years long waiting lists for simple things, same with other healthcare. I grew up in a communist dictatorship and the healthcare was better there. Also housing. In the uk tens of thousands die yearly from cold, damp housing.

    Loved this interview, thank you! To me, Steven’s knock down superpower is his humility. He has no airs and graces, he doesn’t think he deserves this or that, or that he’s better than anyone, and that, ironically, makes him very special indeed. He sees his ego and can step outside it, which is a kind of genius and very zen. Oh, and he’s skilled and focused at making choices based on evidence. He perceives, thinks and acts. Which means he changes direction easily and quickly. Brilliant!

    great interview. I've learned (older age) that you have to MAKE time for yourself. Pushing and Pushing leads to illnesses/mental health issues. Steven has such an old soul for a 29 year old. Lots of wisdom. When I was younger I was searching for peace and found people to help guide my way. One person told me when the student is ready the teacher(s) appear.

    Steven Bartlett is the best person doing the content gig. He blows away every other podcast imo - he is a fantastic listener and is not arrogant. So many successful writers/podcast hosts have false humility - not Steven. Hes the GOAT.

    Steven's Chapter 19 echoes the Roman philosopher Seneca On The Shortness Of Life “It is not that we have a short time to live, but that we waste a lot of it. Life is long enough, and a sufficiently generous amount has been given to us for the highest achievements if it were all well invested. But when it is wasted in heedless luxury and spent on no good activity, we are forced at last by death’s final constraint to realize that it has passed away before we knew it was passing. So it is: we are not given a short life but we make it short, and we are not ill-supplied but wasteful of it… Life is long if you know how to use it.”

    Well... there's certainly a lot of mutual love being spread between these two heavyweights... and rightly so! Very impactful to hear you both speak about your perceptions and life experiences and quite remarkable that Steven has garnered so much wisdom at such a tender age. Sharing is caring, as they say, and listening to these two share themselves so honestly and openly is so inspiring to me, it has helped me to gain more perspective in my own life and for this I'm hugely grateful. A massive thank you to you both. 👊✌️💗

    I'm a big fan of both of these men. I was introduced to Mo Gawdat by his appearance on Diary of a CEO, Steven Bartlett's podcast. Since that introduction I've read Mo Gawdat's first book, Solve for Happy, three times and plan on rereading it at least several more times. The book is one if my absolute favorites! That said, I'm left a little perplexed on this podcast. Both of these men are clearly accomplished and have much insight to impart, but Steven's answers are far more random and less defined, when it comes to the big picture, than I would have guessed prior to listening. Mo Gawdat to me is a one in a million sage with the experience, intellect and wisdom to expound upon life's biggest challenges and questions with unrivaled clarity (get his book - its awesome). Steven, on the other hand, seems to still be very much finding himself, which is what I find a little surprising given what he's accomplished and how fantastic he is as an interviewer on his own DOACEO podcast. Again, fascinating and not what I expected. Mo Gawdat's patience and ability to listen are legendary. Also, not surprising given Mo's experience and accomplishments.

    • @tiararoxeanne1318
      @tiararoxeanne1318 Рік тому

      Hey, I know Mo by exactly the same way, listening to a DCEO episode with Mo as a guest😂! I wonder how many people is like us🤣😂🤣
      Edit: I understand what you said, but I think it might be because of the gap in their ages and life experiences. There is literally a 25 years of age gap between them, and it is a lot! But for such a young lad (30 years old), Steven has accumulated so much wisdom, has become more successful than most of us, yet he's still humble, open, and honest. He generously shares his journey, his struggle, his experience, and his confusion to us and for that I'll be forever grateful. I myself have my own struggle, setbacks, and confusion in life. Listening to Steven and Mo's experience make me feel I'm not alone, not to mention life lessons I can get from them.

    I have listened to Steven's podcast since it launched, and my friends are always sharing video clips of his talks on social media. Every episode and every video or post of his on LinkedIn hits the nail every single time.
    I truly feel I have gained more insights and advice from Steven's content than any therapy session I have been to in my life.
    The point around invalidation in the past validating us today was so poignant for me. For me, chasing material things, the male gaze, status - they have all driven my ambition, and I'm learning all because of insecurities I carry from my past. Wow. Now to learn what I truly what and live an authentic life - hmm... where to begin.
    It is so refreshing to hear someone with Steven's own admitted privilege speaking so honestly, humbly and with such vulnerability.
    Thank you Mo and Steven for this unforgettable discussion.

    On that profound thought was the question: “Is their something bigger than your life”?
    In my humble opinion I believe that possibility is yes.
    We as a species can only solve problems up to the level of our education and experiences.
    Those born many many years before us couldn’t possibly believe that we as a species could achieve the remarkable achievements we live with today. Flying on a plane, traveling into space, solving medical mysteries with machines never thought possible like an X-ray machine.
    We must believe that more possibilities exist like extending life or bringing back the dead. Unimaginable because we do not have the resources or knowledge to say it is “currently” possible.

  • @interestingvideos4me
    @interestingvideos4me 7 місяців тому

    Steve is great but he is young and in the early part of this interview he kind of doesn't understand that some of the people watching this video have commitments, children, relatives to look after, debts, health issues and so on. They can't be at their lunch break - if they have a job!- and simply decide to quit as he did. That works when you are 17 and carefree. Mo tried to bring him to this more nuanced perspective, that not everyone listening to the conversation can or should just 'quit', and tried to bring him into this side of the matter, and gave him an opportunity to show more maturity, but he didn't understand and went on with pizza example and talking about his concern of getting the next 1 pound... as a young child. This was a bit funny to see, that he is a bit detached from the reality most people live, but that doesn't remove a single bit of the brilliant guy he is. It just showed an endearing side in a way.
