If you want to see where the tiles go, try photographing the field with a drone a day or so after a good rain. Ground over the tiles should dry out first showing the tile lines. I used to know a guy who did this as a service to farmers in Illinois many years ago. You will probably need to get the drone up pretty high to see it.
always fill your diesel tanks at the end of the day. it will prevent condensation and rust. when a hot tractor with a half empty tank of fuel cools in the evening it causes lots of moisture to build in the tank and rots them out. keep em full after use and youll have little to no issues with rusty tanks in the future
I love that you and your brother do this together me and my two younger brothers plan to work together when we are older and share all our equipment and businesses like you guys do. You and Spencer are an absolute inspiration to me and my brothers and I'm only 14 but I plan to be just like you guys one day. I have watched all 3 of your guys channels for the past 2 years and I am going to watch them forever
When it’s that wet the compaction you do will usually do more harm than good but awesome video. A good test to see if the ground is too wet is digging about 6 inches down and seeing if the top 2-4will crumble easy. If it crumbles your ready but if it clumps like it did clearly here it’s too wet
I always remove the tailgate before I let someone load me. Two clips, half closed. Lift side, set aside. Replace later. You are like most. Impatient to get in field. But it snowed Easter Sunday. Corn hit $7.69… diesel is going up faster.
I run 6 Link belt excavators 330, 460, and 800 all with Isuzu's . The problem you have costs 89 cents to fix, You have a BANJO fitting connected to a rubber fuel line at the lift pump. Loosen the fitting with a 19mm wrench remove the clamp that holds the rubber fuel line onto the BANJO fitting . Inside the bolt that goes thru the banjo fitting is a plastic rock screen with a very small flat screw driver ,use a counter clock wise motion ,remove the rock screen it should be white in color , I will bet Dollars to Doughnuts it is plugged with crap from the tank . Caution there are copper washers on the bolt that has the rock screen in side it ,don't loose them or that fitting will suck air when you reinstall .This screen is on the supply side fuel line from the tank. Actually you can clean and reuse the screen ,saving you 89 cents.
We have used a Landoll VT on an 8410 for maybe the past decade at this point. Such a nostalgic pair for me. The tractor just doesn't have the power in wet conditions for that size as you found. Throw our 8360R on it and walk some acres when needed.
nice we started ripping on sunday the 24th, also you should put a tuner on your 8110, we have tuner on our 8100 and it works great you can turn it up anywhere from 225 to 275 hp I wouldn't recommend running that thing on the 275 setting all the time because it would make it run pretty hot.
Pull the tank out and cut two holes in it and you’ll be able to clean al the rust out did this on a Massey last week just weld the cut out pieces back in when done 👍
Probably to late by now but you can change the controls on escavators usually there’s a valve sometimes under the floor mat but could be elsewhere that you flip and it will switch how they work.
Keep up the outstanding work as always! I always appreciate you taking the time to make these videos for us! I was on ben the iowan farmers channel and saw you had dug up some clay tile! Like that landall too it looks sweet! We bought our fertilizer and seed a few weeks ago, Grant likes to keep his trucks mint clean (lol ). I know iv never met you or ben but you both seem super nice! Hope your ready for spring breakdowns and repairs! Hope all is well on the farm and with family! YEEYEE and have a good one! :-)
A vt is a good Implement I’ve been running a 47 foot for four years now and it does a very very nice job and i would like to say on the Excavator those grease zerk if they dont take grease I would recommend a Milwaukee grease gun those things grease just about anything
Yall might look at getting a filter screen that'll fit in the neck of the link belts fuel tank. It'll help catch any debris or particles that might be in the fuel or tank or whatever your using to put fuel in it.
That’s a heavy disc and you want it to dry out and you want it at least 2 1/2 inches deap to turn the soils over but chop the corn trash up and really Barry it and dry out the under layers of soil
On our land we cut the nice trees down and took a bulldozer to the rest 😁. Also I couldn't really tell, but where you running it at an angle across the rows?.....that chops them up better than going straight with the rows.
If your going to notill your beans get some copperhead closing wheels on your planter. Standard rubbers aren't real good in notill. The copperheads will close the seed trench and your get a better stand. Best planter add on I've ever done.
Hey Grant, have you ever though I about getting a land roller, it would be good for you beans ground but no use on what you plan on planting corn on. If you roll your bean ground after you plant it it will put some corn stocks that you planted into, into the ground so that you aren’t scooping them up in the fall with your combine. Just a suggestion that I could see benefitting your oporation. Love the farming vids man
Would honestly love to rent one if I get time at end of bean planting. I hear it makes it super nice for combining, hopefully would pay for itself possible if I can get more beans in the combine at a lower head height or just not suck a rock through it!! Not sure though, would be nice to try!
Iv been battling rust in the tank on a ASV RC 85 for a year two injection pumps ruined .Filters always full of rust .Tank rust is a major problem.Cleaned the tank several times and still rust.My fuel pick up was draining everything from the bottom of the tank.I cut a hole 3inches above the bottom of the tank and welded a fitting and attacked the fuel line. All the rust is setteling in the bottom of the tank and my pick up is now above the rust and bottom af the tank. When you get rust in the tank you will always have rust in the tank..
hey grant in europe we run mulchers on the bottom of the combine headers to help get the stalks to break up maybe thats something to consider for your farm too
Do you guys have access to one of those inspection cameras with the long flexible cable. It would allow you to have a good look at the inside of that tank. Then you could tell if or how bad it is damaged on the inside. It may just need a good pressure wash. Things like that unfortunately have a way of haunting you forever unless you tackle them head on.
If it’s been sitting very long there is a good chance you’ve got algae growing in that tank. Cleaning it out won’t kill it either, you’ll need to pick up a bottle of treatment. Any fuel dealer will sell it.
If you ever get a ripper I would recommend somthing like a landoll 2110 our has straight disc's in the front and 11 shanks in the back has worked great for us.
A few facts about clay tile / tile. Clay tile do not let water in anywhere other then the ends. The seams. Clay tile like clay itself seals itself off...expands. When you have trees.....you will have plugged tile lines.....all the way out to 200 feet from a ( larger ) tree. Trees create their own channel for water .... nearly like a tile but not. In spring time and fall trees use very little water. They become dormant for winter. Along a timber line it will always be wet in the spring time because the channels where the trees are.....the water follows......until trees start putting leaves on. Ive trenched along side a timber fence......and when you hit a larger root......if the ground is wet ..the water will squirt out like a water hose......because you interrupted the trees natural tile line. This property has been neglected for years !!! Remove the trees .....brush........and once every........say 5 years.....spray and kill all the grass over the tile line. Including waterways ! Never spray and kill the entire water way. Kill the grass in ......say 200 foot strips......leave 200 foot ...kill another 200 foot. No need to reseed....the seed is on the ground from year gone by. Sodding.......or raised water ways are cause " only by roots raising the ground up because its filled with roots. This is why..if you have a garden in the middle of your lawn.......and kill / till an area.....the next year that area will be lower. Root from grass are gone/ dead. Same as in water ways !!!!
also sizing and incorporating the residue will be a big help to your planting season. I am an advocate for no-till but sometimes tillage is necessary for growing better yields.
If you want to see where the tiles go, try photographing the field with a drone a day or so after a good rain. Ground over the tiles should dry out first showing the tile lines. I used to know a guy who did this as a service to farmers in Illinois many years ago. You will probably need to get the drone up pretty high to see it.
Wheat really shows tiles
Will try and get the drone up after a big rain!
@@granthilbert5632 you have a really nice drone so
For the algorithm. Likes, comments, shares, and subscriptions help your content creators more than you realize. Keep it up Grant!
Thumbs down for these dummies every time
For a minute I thought the little kid was driving the fork lift when you where getting seed
Thanks for being the best you tuber and the best former
Tile problems/questions, you gotta called Randy the master pipe layer. Great video btw, field work is always exciting cause spring is here.

Very nice! We plan on starting field work later this week
The farm is evaluating like crazy good work
Evaluating?

It’s Bandit!! Ohhh ummmm errrrr an Ben. 😂😂😂
Thanks for being the best you tuber you made me become a UA-cam or because you showed me
You are UA-camr
Yes
amazing videos Grant keep them come 👍👍👍
Looks like it could use a new fuel tank, if the old one is rusty, it’ll be hard ro keep it from flaking
Just had to replace the one on our Cat 320
you guys did a good job getting rid of those trees and brush
Thanks John!
Thanks for the amazing videos keep them up!
Great job 👍 keep up the good work
Keep the good videos coming
So excited for cultivating on my dad's farm. Keep up the good work
Ben is the Tile KING
When it’s that wet the compaction you do will usually do more harm than good but awesome video. A good test to see if the ground is too wet is digging about 6 inches down and seeing if the top 2-4will crumble easy. If it crumbles your ready but if it clumps like it did clearly here it’s too wet
Good stuff
keep up the good work and good luck with planting
U should run that vt over the ripped ground once then go back over before planting with the cultivator
Looking good. Happy Easter
Great vedieo grant you and Spencer is really make it look good
Great guys and hardworking!
I always remove the tailgate before I let someone load me. Two clips, half closed. Lift side, set aside. Replace later.

Well I guess you can come and Ride in the quadtrac this fall. Lol 😊

Congratulations Grant and Spencer best of luck Hello Ben Molly Wayne
Love the videos
Hello hopefully this will be a good year. And keep these good videos up.
Great work
Two of my 5 farmers I follow on the same episode! Keep the videos rolling! :)
Who are the other three?
Millennial farmer, Brian’s farming videos, and 5th generation dairyman! Great videos!
Add the Welkers, Larsons, Cole and Mike Mitchell man. All are great channels as well as being great people/familys.
Good job space.
Another great video, thanks for posting 👍

You should put a chrome stack on your 8110, I have one I put on mine, I got it from shoup, definitely helps on the smiles per acre!
Ben’s videos are really awesome!
We have a landoll 49 ft and I love it I run in fall and spring
We have the same disc and I’ve been running it on cornstalks all fall and I would recommend slowing down a little because it’s a little wet.
A vt tool loves speed and they work the best when you go at an angle from how the corn was planted
Pull the tank out and cut two holes in it and you’ll be able to clean al the rust out did this on a Massey last week just weld the cut out pieces back in when done 👍
nice
Hello copyer
This is my first time watching and are the also the UA-camr the Squad
Your Farm is looking nice. keep up the great work bud.
Probably to late by now but you can change the controls on escavators usually there’s a valve sometimes under the floor mat but could be elsewhere that you flip and it will switch how they work.
Great video grant
At first i thought that little boy was driving the forklift by himself lol
this farming sim gameplay looks so good!
Lol good joke 😂
Hi grant I would recommend root slicing and hilling of you corn then you can get rid of a lot of the trash with a harrow
Keep up the outstanding work as always! I always appreciate you taking the time to make these videos for us! I was on ben the iowan farmers channel and saw you had dug up some clay tile! I have a 30' one ,If the mude on the tire really big It will leave humps in the field ,when you drive on the 2nd pass you can feel the hump
spencer is getting pretty good at the excavator great video👍
I have 2 tanks and I also put a lot of magnets in the bottom of the tanks .
A vt is a good Implement I’ve been running a 47 foot for four years now and it does a very very nice job and i would like to say on the Excavator those grease zerk if they dont take grease I would recommend a Milwaukee grease gun those things grease just about anything
We a linkbelt just like that you will fight that problem for a long time
Yall might look at getting a filter screen that'll fit in the neck of the link belts fuel tank. It'll help catch any debris or particles that might be in the fuel or tank or whatever your using to put fuel in it.
Great vid keep up the great work god bless. Happy easter.
Nice Videos👌
I’ve been waiting for this! 😆
The rock screen in the banjo fitting is before your fuel filter, if you don't clean it out you will ruin your lift pump . It will cause cavitation
That’s a heavy disc and you want it to dry out and you want it at least 2 1/2 inches deap to turn the soils over but chop the corn trash up and really Barry it and dry out the under layers of soil
Love the video keep it up continent
I laughed out loud “box of bitcoins” 😂
Love the video grant. Keep up the great work!!
On our land we cut the nice trees down and took a bulldozer to the rest 😁. Also I couldn't really tell, but where you running it at an angle across the rows?.....that chops them up better than going straight with the rows.
You should have gotten NDY manufacturing rock box. We have one and you can leave the weights on it with the rock boxes on both sides
the tree cleaning reminds me of cole the cornstar when he did it
If your going to notill your beans get some copperhead closing wheels on your planter. Standard rubbers aren't real good in notill. The copperheads will close the seed trench and your get a better stand. Best planter add on I've ever done.
Got some Poly Yetter Twistters going on it this spring!
Looks like that tune made a big difference
Hey Grant, have you ever though I about getting a land roller, it would be good for you beans ground but no use on what you plan on planting corn on. You go keep up the good work
Funny how your starting fieldwork in Iowa but not 3 hours north we still are getting snow and temps of 20s in mid April.
I love your vids!!😊
Your doing amazing work keep rock man
this was a great vid

Make sure you spray because the downed corn will come up next year

Love it!!
I have done it a lot and have a lot of farming experience and i know a lot of green star too
We just started cultivating up here in Onterible
That's his first time digging with his new. To him trackhoe he's doing good
Coming along!!! How many acres are you putting to corn and how many acres are you putting the beans? If you want to share.
We just started farming
Planting soybeans first is a great idea! you will be very happy with the result.
also sizing and incorporating the residue will be a big help to your planting season. I am an advocate for no-till but sometimes tillage is necessary for growing better yields.
I love your vids
Nathan from Border View Farms was also hoping to get early beans planter again this year but it was go we this year
@borderviewfarms
Nice vid
Honestly if u get any tillage I recommend salford
Are you looking into the regenerative ways of farming, are you looking into seeding any cover crops in the fall
we have a batwing to chop the stalks
