Looks like its warmer over in iowa that wisconsin, we have been hammered by rain and snow! Got our planter serviced and all ready to go for spring! Cant wait for more of the 80's series! The excavator sounds like a beast! Hope all is well on the farm and with family! YEEYEE, and have a good one! :-)

I’ve really enjoyed seeing all of the videos involving you and Spencer’s journey with starting a farm! I am roughly your age and have a background in the excavating industry. I started row crop farming here in Michigan on a small scale and am getting ready to tackle my fourth year. I have done similar improvements to my farm with a couple different excavators as well as a skidsteer with a root grapple and a brush hog (I may upload some video footage from that). It is awesome to watch you guys do a similar thing to what I’m doing, albeit my farm is definitely smaller. If I ever make it out to Iowa, I would love to check out your operation! As far as your “new to you” excavator goes, I have a couple of tips. When you grease the turntable, most manufactures do not necessarily want grease coming out of the seal unless it gets contaminated with water. Also, when digging, ripping out stumps, or lifting, try to keep your drive motors towards the back on the excavator. This will put less wear on your undercarriage as well as improve the balance of your machine. The fuel system debacle made me think of a similar event involving a Kobelco excavator that we rented a few years ago. I noticed that it seemed to be running low on power, and eventually, it quit running altogether. Turns out the bottom of the fuel tank had this nasty sludge and sediment buildup that was lining the entire bottom of the tank. I was definitely glad that we didn’t own that machine! You guys are doing great and I look forward to more videos! If you have any questions regarding excavating, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Grant! You need to have that tractor dyno'd to be sure. We have a few tractors Eko tuned and the files don't always give you the hp they say. Our guy brings a dynamic with him and checks before and after results. Sometimes he needs to upload 2 or 3 files to get the hp gains they claim. For rhe money if double check with a dyno to be sure.

You guys made the right decision putting the excavator in ISO CAT controls because almost everyone operates international standard of operating controls. By using ISO you guys can get into pretty much anything and run it. So cool that you are fortunate enough to even have a farm to fulfill your dreams. I've been watching you guys since you were just virtual farmers in farming simulator 2013 a lot of things changed since then but it proves that the game can be used as a tool to train for real life situations in a sense.

What you are destroying, are wildlife travelways and habitat sanctuaries. Without these you will increase the insect damage to your farm crops, because your insect devouring songbird count, that relie on those trees and overgrown areas for nest to raise their young, will no longer be there at their current population levels. Insect control by way of chemicals is not environmentally sound farming compared to the number of insects the birds consume, not to mention insect control by birds is free.

I would run the excavator basically to empty and then change the fuel filters again. And just keep doing it and eventually it’ll clean itself out. Worst case scenario is you have to drain all the fuel and pressure wash the inside out and clean it really good. Good video.

If you still have issues with the excavator, you might have dirt in the "rock screens" in the banjo fittings. If you pull out the banjo bolt at the inlet to the fuel injection pump, there will be a small screen threaded into the fitting as a last filter in case anything gets past the filter. There may be more than just the one in the system. I work at a link belt dealer, and this is one of the most common things we find when we get called out for fuel issues, as no one knows they are there.
