Dear Luke I enjoyed your story very much. Thank you for sharing. In fact I am from Japan, living in America now and understand how you felt when you were sick in the foreign country. You are such a great observer and good at writing. I love your podcast, British accent, tone of your voice and great personality.
❤ thanks a lot for sharing your experience in hospital. It turned out a blessing in disguise. You had time to think about your life and profound feelings. Writing is surely a good way to express emotions and get over bad periods. It actually seems that most of the world litterature comes from that. You found out your way to express yourself. The diaries were the beginning, the podcast was the result. It turned out that you can't live without sharing your thought. 🎉we are glad for this side of your personality and enjoy the fruit of it. Fifteen years of continuing uploads ( the rambling ones in particular) are your midlife way of keeping a diary 😊 thanks again, take care and carry on
thank you teacher luke, i always enjoy your podcasts. whenever i do my own things/work at night, i always listen to your podcasts, feel like you're a friend there talking to me, make me feel less lonely.
While I was listening to your story, I learnt that though I have a pain in my body for a disease that I have, I still have to be greatful for all those other things that I have. And I also have a journal in which I write my everyday experiences, and I hope that one day someone would go through it and understand how I feel. I really am a LEPster❤
I am listening in the 1/4 part of your culture shock in hospital which makes me smile and laugh 😂. I have experienced similar circumstances here in UK as a Japanese residence so really understand all extra worries confusion and shock especially when you are accommodated in care setting. Thank you for sharing . I will forward this episode to friends !
Hello, Luke! You are super with your sense of humour. You manage to describe painful things in such a way that it makes one laugh. I can't help admiring you!! ❤❤❤
Luke, thank you for sharing this story with us. The ending of your hospital diary is beautiful, thank you for reminding us of these simple things that should prevail in our lives over fear, anger, judgement, hatred and despair.
Hello Luke, Right at the beginning of your story I thought to myself, it could only be the Ebstein Bar virus. It reminded me of when the doctor's office called and asked if I could drive my 19 year old son to the hospital. He was not allowed to carry his suitcase himself due to a possible ruptured spleen. A week earlier, a young patient with similar symptoms had died after lifting a crate of beer. Today my son is 35 years old and has a small family like you. Luckily he didn't carry his suitcase himself.🤗😅 But it was a worrying time. I imagine being in a foreign country is really scary. Thanks for sharing. Many greetings from Germany to my favorite English podcaster.
Thank you Luke! I just found out your podcast a few months ago and it has been the discovery of the year for me. I'm amazed for your history telling hability and describing and explaining things, you are a great teacher. I love how you manage to inspire and also to make us laugh, thank you for all your efford and for sharing with us your life, I really enjoyed this episode😊
Hi Luke even though I already knew your Japanese hospital story from the episode recorded at the British Council in Paris, I totally appreciated this episode. The written story is like a photograph, but unlike photos and videos, the angle of vision is inside us, and it’s a precious document of our personal history. I think that reading your diaries has added more realism to the story, showing directly the impact of those distant events on the younger you. It struck a chord with me, I was really engrossed in it, like you with The Lord of the Rings saga! thank you! And thank you for the advice on writing a diary
Thank you Luke.Your story made me cry and laugh. I was crying when imagined lonely young guy who was far away from home ill and in despair... The journaling is a good way of self care. And I see your tan. It's good.
Pure enjoy! Thank you for sharing your story. It's third episode that i've just listened and i'm happy that I have the opportunity to listen more than 900 podcasts. I'm learning English and thanks God I found your channel. I will buy premium as soon as I will be able to. Thanks again! ❤
By far the best communicator and teacher I have ever encountered. Let me give you my deepest congratulations. I am very hooked on your podcasts and videos. It's the first time I've been so caught up in your stories and experiences that I'm not even aware that I'm listening to it in a language other than my mother tongue. Totally charming. Thank you very much and we hope you continue publishing and posting for many years to come. A big hug!
Thank you so much Luke for sharing your personal diaries. The last part of the video, to which I literally listened many times, is so true that I felt like crying and made me think about myself.😊 I liked a lot. Thank you!
Hi Luke and thank you very much for reading your diary. Life can be cruel and so constructive at the same time. It was a rude experience to live in your youth and so far away from your relatives. I can understand your anguish by misunderstanding your illness. Despite the seriousness of the situation you make me laugh several times! Several years ago I lived some stressful days arriving to London with my daughter. In the Eurostar I discovered she had the measles (hot temperature, itching spots everywhere, sore throat, ...). A long story I could try to write about...
Hi Luke! Thanks for sharing your hospital diaries. It was very engaging to listen to your story. No matter how many times, it is still worth listening to). There were a lot of new details which you haven't shared before.
Hi öuke I am fr8m Perú I enjoy all ypur episodes sonetimes you make me laugh a lot ⁹you are a lovely and Kind people. Thank you for give us the opportunity to lesrn and practice the English. Thank you for your patience and good humor hugs
I couldn’t stop laughing when you imitated how Japanese people sneeze😂😂 It was hilarious! I had a similar experience in China-everyone sneezes with that same enthusiasm😂Thanks for the laughs!
4 hours each day routine! Thanks for your podcast! I started listening 2 months ago, and now I'm starting listening 2021 year. Enjoy all your episodes! All, but I can't understand the Beatles thing. Continue in same way!!!
For the first time in life I had to laugh out loud, strolling through the streets with my EarPods listening to this podcast . Your lively description even of not so delightful situations, love it! Thanks!
hi, this is the second podcast that i have listened to so far, because i haven´t found your channel until now, but i liked it so much, that i think that i´m not going to stop doing it.... thank you for sharing this experience at the hospital, your feelings, your thoughts, so intim and so funny at the same time. i love this story great job, keep doing, thanks
I also had tonsillitis and went through it all like Luke. I know how difficult it's. I got it operated upon later. It was a nuisance. Whenever the weather turned cold especially in the winter, I would get it. . Luke's story is interesting. I learn English through it. I am an Indian. English is my third language. I can't speak it well. Thanks Luke for your service. Thomas V. A.
Hello! I'm so sorry that you had to suffer so much, both physically and mentally. I know how scary and terrible panic attacks can be, as I also experienced them during the period, when my father passed away. I originally come from Japan, and I was visiting Nova to learn German before coming to Berlin, but I didn't know that teachers were working in such inhumane conditions. As far as I know, the school still exists, and it's as ubiquitous as you mentioned. Thank you so much for your effort to provide us great materials to learn English, anyway!
Hi Luke! I’ve been listening to your pod cast from last year. I’m able to learn a lot of new vocabs through your stories. Thank you for your daily effort. By the way, I’m Japanese Nova still remains as one of big language schools but it’s not the popular one anymore.
Very evocative story Luke🇯🇵, even though it has been told for the 3rd time 😅 I assume, most of us (I mean, proper LEP'sters) know you quite well, like a good old friend, particularly because of these kind of personal stories! 😊 Keep it up Luke and stay healthy 💪
Thank you for this Message in Bottle! It was interesting, exciting, like watching a movie. After all that was said, I changed some of my thoughts and intentions. Thank you for the Phrasal Verbs and their explanation. that was colorful and interesting!
I Luke...greetings from Brazil. I hope find you well and health. I have heard your Podcast since July and I decide not to be a Ninja anymore kkkkk. Man I would like to thank you for you efforts and for the great content that you offer on your Podcast. I have been studying for IELTS test and I took your episodes to improve my listening skills and I ended became your fan. My listening skills improve a lot and also my vocabulary through your content. Thank you so much for you will on it, it made the difference for me. A hug for your man...such a nice job you have been doing.
Hi Luke, kind of sad story, well with happy ending. I had a similar story but this time in London, an unfriendly GP, my level of English, the fact that I told the doctor that I smoke a bit, the doctor's doubts to give me antibiotics that I knew that I needed and so on made me feel miserable, as youbwere in Japan I guess, but in my case jus a week after my landing in UK. So your story made me recall all these facts.
Worrying about the Japanese liver can evoke a transformation like Frankenstein's-a dive into the mysterious and strange. This unsettling feeling may arise after vivid dreams, where a whispering voice guides you to follow tips that promise hidden truths. As you explore, you may discover the tragic history of someone who once possessed this liver, marked by extraordinary circumstances. Each clue you find leads you deeper into their captivating story. WOW :)
Thank you for the story. I've enjoyed it so much! Maybe, the mysterious guy in football boots, was not so strange. Maybe he was in road cycling shoes with protruding cleats that connect shoes to clipless pedals)
Hi Luke! It's nice to meet you. I'm from Japan and live in Gunma. I've been watching your videos for a year. I couldn't help writing first message, because I found the notebook which you were holding. That's a Kokuyo Campus! It's still very common in Japan. I'm sorry about what you'd gone through at that time anyway.
I was just a little boy afraid of the dark Trying to please you by giving you my pure heart But you took it at once with your dirty hands Why you broke it, I couldn't understand Now that I'm grown I know for sure People like you can't hurt me anymore And to forget such unbearable pain I'll never give my broken heart again [a little poem I've just written]
Hi Luke,I really enjoy your hospital story in Japan, it’s so funny.Despite it would be one of your terrible experiences in your life,it make me smile though. How bad am I.😮
"Luke! Thank you very much for your efforts to help me understand English. I also follow you on Spotify. Next month I'll be prepared to become a LEPster."
Hi Luke, Another very interesting video, thanks a lot! It must be quite frightening to be ill in a foreign country, far from home indeed ! Thankfully it ended well, but I can easily imagine what it feels like when you don't know what's going on and you don't understand what people say. It seems that you had a very busy and stressful rhythm of life, and maybe your tonsillitis was a kind of alarm of your body ? Anyway, thank you for sharing your experience Luke !
Good night, Great that you shared with your memories. It seems that you have very weak throat. It's the reason why you all the time have an acking throat 😢. Take care of yourself. Even now I feel that your throat is acking . 😢😢 Drink a lot herbal tea and use nebuliser. It helps.
Hi Luke, it 's a very insteresing story, I love it. but I got two qeustions, would you mind to talk about it: what's the original aim you decided to go to Japan at that time? And were your flatmates Japanese or English teachers as you from the UK?
Could you make a podcast about Japanese anime, please, and your relationship with it and which ones you ❤ like, and your friends' relationship with it❤
Hello, Luke. It must have been horrible to be ill in a foreign country , especially without speaking or even understanding their language. I guess you didn't have time to take an electronic translator with you. Or your phone to translate into Japanese or the other way around. Fortunately, you survived. Although I like writing, I've never written a diary. When I was 16, my closest friend and I started writing letters to each other in English even though we lived in the same city. At 18 we wrote to pen friends abroad. Cheers.🎉
@@LukesEnglishPodcast My husband gave me an electronic translator long ago so I don't know its price.I have no idea about the invention date of the iPhone. Thank you for answering.

I enjoyed your story very much. Thank you for sharing. In fact I am from Japan, living in America now and understand how you felt when you were sick in the foreign country. You are such a great observer and good at writing. I love your podcast, British accent, tone of your voice and great personality.
Luke , I just wanted to say big THANK YOU for all your job!

It seems that you had a very busy and stressful rhythm of life, and maybe your tonsillitis was a kind of alarm of your body ?
Anyway, thank you for sharing your experience Luke !
Thank .
Good night, Great that you shared with your memories. It seems that you have very weak throat.
It's the reason why you all the time have an acking throat 😢.
Take care of yourself.
Even now I feel that your throat is acking . 😢😢
Drink a lot herbal tea and use nebuliser. It helps.
Hi Luke, it 's a very insteresing story, I love it. but I got two qeustions, would you mind to talk about it: what's the original aim you decided to go to Japan at that time? And were your flatmates Japanese or English teachers as you from the UK?
Şu muhteşem İngiliz aksanını sabaha kadar dinleyebilirim terapi gibi 😴
We love you Luke ❤❤❤❤srilanka
Cheers.🎉
Electronic translators were very expensive in those days and smartphones didn’t exist!
@@LukesEnglishPodcast My husband gave me an electronic translator long ago so I don't know its price.I have no idea about the invention date of the iPhone. Thank you for answering.
❤So handsome Luu every day !
I’m the 2nd for the first time 😁❤️
