#diary Hi Luke, although I listened to one of your episodes you did about your time in Japan, I'd like to listen to another one, you reading from your diary, and I think many other listeners would also do. I guess that sharing personal emotions and stories is what makes your podcast so successful, and to be honest, what could be more personal than sharing your own diary. I think your listeners appriciate your open, honest, authentic and cunning way of telling your stories, at least I do!😊 Looking forward to listen to your next episode up to the very end, like always, what ever it would be about. Greetings from Germany - Ilona
Luke, I listened to your conversation with great pleasure. You have an amazing father. I am impressed by his knowledge of history and sense of humor. Greetings from Poland☺️
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Your dad and you, Luke, have a remarkable talent for telling stories from your lives, as well as those that introduce your listeners and viewers to the culture and history of Britain. I would be very eager to hear your account of your stay in Japan once again, as it is always gripping, dramatic, and sometimes even humorous. It would be a great loss if you didn’t share with your Lepsters the already recorded episode where you read from your diary😊
I do love your videos but when you host your father I really love them much, your dad is fantastic, his accurate pronunciation is extremely useful💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Hi Luke, your Dad is Amazing, I have already buy his book on Amazon, but delivery time is February-April 2025 🙈so I am waiting with patience 😅I love your podcast so much, the learning English is so easy with them. I appreciate you as a human as well . Well done Luke thanks for your work 🌺
Yes, please, Luke. I believe many people would love to listen to it just like me. I look forward to it. Don't worry about repetition, it's the way for us to learn English 👍👍👍
Ohhh, I really enjoyed that story of yours which was about "you in the hospital of Japan". I like anything which you publish. Cause I enjoy your British accent❤
Hi Luke! I loved listen your dad describing his last book. Romans also conquered and stayed in Iberia, including the current territory of Portugal where i am from. Roman streets (and bridges) and the ruins of a roman city - “Conimbriga” - can be found here. I much enjoyed your father’s british English accent and his comments, and yours of course. Have a great day Jorge
Thank you Luke, and thanks to your father too. Posting your diary video about a part of your life in Japan is a great idea ! Can't wait to listen to it !
❤#diaries🎉 the Thompson family podcast is really appreciated. Since your first episodes your family has been and active character. Your cohesion is natural and sincere. You must be proud of that. As for the diaries, I think that most of us are new subscribers of the podcast and should find interesting hearing about that difficult period of your life. Recover sono from the sorethroat! Looking forward to your next uploading and looking backward into your endless archive I wish you all the best
Hi Luke,Thank you so much for your great work.I love English and it’s really a delight to listen to your podcasts and build up my fluency .So please do publish the episodes about the diaries. I can’t wait to listen to them. Thanks again.
dear Luke, first of all...take rest and recover yourself very quickly! I'll ordered your dad book on Amazon when I come back home ( in 20 days ish...I'm in Croatia now to recover myself). All of you are good and engaged artist!!! about the next podcast, I think you could speak of your ill in Japane: you are a lot of skill so you could tell the same story plenty of times in different way!!! keep safe and...see you next time! Thank for your strong commitment!
Hello, Luke ! We are looking forward for episodes about your diaries . It will be great to listen all about the feelings through which you came across on those dreadful days.
I feel smarter🤓after each Rick Thompson episode, a luxury to have sir Thompson on the podcast! I haven't yet come across the Sick in Japan story, it'd be interesting to me to have an insight into Luke's mind 23 years ago in a diary format and it's not just out of courtesy😀
I do encourage you to publish the diaries you mentioned. First, because you have already worked on them, and it would be such a waste not to. Second, I'm pretty sure you'll abord the stories listeners, not all of them of course, know about, in another way that would make them newer. And finally,it's always good and beneficial to listen to your podcasts whatever the topic is, as you have such an alluring way to present things.
Luke, you have been so nice with all your audience for so long, you are a good teacher; my English speaking and understanding have been improving thanks to you, so, I think the minimum thing we can give back to you is to listen how did you do when you were in the hospital in Japan. Glad to know you are getting better. Take care yourself. Make ginger Tea with honey. It's good for throat sore. Get well soon.
Luke, thank you for inviting your father to your channel. Rick Thompson's overview of English history is enthralling! Such complexity delivered in an unassuming way, yet precise and engaging. It should be used in Italian high schools (licei) where the curriculum in English includes both history and literature. And of course, most of the times, learners end up memorising chunks of texts, without understanding much. Not their fault, though.
THANK U OUR SPOKEN ENGLISH IS IMPROVING REALLY WELL AND FAST BEST WISHES TO YOU AND YOUR CHANNEL HOW GOOD TO SEE A SON AND DAD TOGETHER ON THE PODCAST MY lConfidence for speaking in english has grown and risen quite much becuase of which i feel happy , happiness for learning and achieving and progressing in language learning
Congratulations to both of you! You may publish whatever you want , each Episode Is a masterpiece. Thank you, teacher Luke AND take care of tour voice.
Thank you for bringing up the 'Story' vs 'History' thing. I don't know if you know Luke, the cause of the confusion is because that in some languages, of example in German, both 'Story' and 'History are represented by the same word, 'Geschichte'. I understand the difference of these 2 words perfectly well, coz they are 2 separate words in my first language as well. However, it would be a real mess for someone whose language doesn't separate these 2 words. I hope this will be a little piece of useful information for you when you encounter students with this particular issue. Brilliant episode! You are my best English teacher, thank you!
Luke I just have to say how stellar this episode has been! A masterpiece! Fortunately AMAZON has just landed where I live(Argentina),thanks to changes in economics regulations. Although I prefer to buy from local bookstores, it is very difficult for us if not imposible to get books from abroad. Most of them are not available. I am looking forward to buying your father's book. When it comes to publishing the Japan' stuff go ahead. There is a celebrity in my country who says...el público se renueva...kind of...the audience is renwed. Thanks again for this utterly awesome episode...and just KEEP CALM AND DRINK GREEN TEA.
Fantastic, thank you very much for sharing. De tal palo, tal astilla o hijo de tigre, pintito, as we say in Mexico. Master, you have a wonderful father. I understood 40% of what I heard and the rest I guessed or made up, but I really enjoyed it. More conversations with your lord father, please. That calmness, poise, security and love that both transmit are very good for continuing their conversation. (I used Google Translator to write. I hope it is a good translation)
Luke I just have to say how stellar this episode has been! Masterpiece! Fortunately amazon has just landed where I live(Argentina), thanks to changes in economics regulations. Although i per
Luke... I've tried. But there's no delivery to Russia. That's a pity. Although it was very interesting to listen you and your dad. You both are very intelligent people. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. I'll try to get e-book later. If it would be available.
I am Amit from India and I listen to you everyday while going to library and coming back from there. I put the phone in my pocket so I don't care about the quality of the video 😅
Hello Luke, I love episodes with your father. In fact, I really admire him. Please send him greetings from Poland. BTW, please correct the link to the episode page. :) P.S. “Nobody’s Diary” :)
@Lukes@LukesEnglishPodcast I really like the way you are teaching English. Why don't you release a kids friendly series with short stories, it would be helpful alot
Alfred is on the run from the Vikings, taking refuge in the home of a peasant woman. She asks him to watch her cakes - small loaves of bread - baking by the fire, but distracted by his problems, he lets the cakes burn and is roundly scolded by the woman.

It's a lovely moment to talk with dad when we grew up. The time change, the things change.
Alfred is on the run from the Vikings, taking refuge in the home of a peasant woman. She asks him to watch her cakes - small loaves of bread - baking by the fire, but distracted by his problems, he lets the cakes burn and is roundly scolded by the woman.
