Would you recommend buying one of these used? Any precautions to it wearing in a certain way or would you assume a used unit would hold up as well as a new model?
My experience is the various parts break often even on a new one. I can't imagine it being much different on a used one. Either way you should expect to spend a few hundred dollars a year on parts. If it has not been used in awhile you will likely need to buy some electrodes and other parts to get it back to functional.
It is highly variable. Running tests does decrease the amount of solution in the pack, but the machine also uses the solution when sitting idle. We probably do 300-400 samples per year and we have had to replace the 800ml packs 2-3 times per year. The company can give you a more definite answer though.
Hi, thanks for the video, it was wonderful and very useful! I've one question...why do we need to use diluted urine? Why not undiluted? Is there any significant difference?
Sir this was useful and helpful video I just watched thanks for such an information
You are very welcome.
Thanks, could you please tell me about reference range for NA, K, CL in urine
Sorry. I don't have access to the machine because of the COVID-19 pandemic. You might be able to find that information on Medica's website.
What is the difference between blood and urine test for checking electrolytes?
Blood values are tightly regulated by the body. Urine values change significantly based on what you eat.
Can I use Physiologie water

Dear sir,
How much price of new and used machines?
God, this explains why the lab take so long to process all samples, imagine doing this >200 a day, excluding other tests.
Hi, are the urine centrifuged before analysis ? If yes how long of centrifugation ?
No.
May I ask if chlorides are positive in urine?
thank you very much sir
Hi, how many patients can be used for a 400ml and 800ml reactive pack. Thank's

Can we switch off this analyzer
Unfortunately no. If you do the electrodes and tubing can dry out and stop working.
How much do you lose through urinating
How much of what?
@@VivoPhys oh I meant how much electrolytes do you lose I always wondered through urinating
It varies widely based on how much you consume. The more you consume electrolytes the more you will excrete.
Thx
