wizard does magic, ninja does ninjutsu, cowboy has a gun, and robot makes me mad
As a robot main I can say i'm not sorry.
Robot is definitely my least favorite to fight because calculating for both armor and fly is a lot, but I bet I'd love to play him lol

Blocking is not frowned upon at all, parrying is all that keeps you alive vs a wizard/cowboy
Blocking is cool af, you have to predict high or low often, or whether they will whiff the attack and you suddenly are at a frame disadvantage.
This game is everything I never knew I needed, it's been two days and living life in real-time feels strange now.
I actually catch myself thinking what i just did was a the prediction sometimes its so weird

I bought it instantly upon seeing your video for it yesterday, literally before the video even finished, and proceeded to play for literally 10 hours straight.
This game is awesome and if you think you would enjoy this, its more than worth the $5 purchase price.

@@epsi9923 I know as ninja at least, it gives you access to the combo moves next time you act, such as whip wave. Not sure about the others.
whiff cancel uses most of your burst bar, which comes back over time. free cancels come back once you start comboing, so you get two per neutral interaction
also instant cancel costs a level of super

Considering this game is turn-based and relatively simple I wonder if they could have a learning AI play it to figure out the balancing. Create a new character, have an AI take a few hours to master it against itself then throw it at learning AI for the others. Give them a few hours to adapt, see if an overall win rate is close to 50/50, and if not tweak as necessary. They could probably even track what moves the AI used most or least to win, though they'd have to be careful of survivorship bias when using that information.
That would be sick
Considering how chess ai works, if you put the same theory into practice (which you definitely could) you could have a cheat on your hands. The one problem is with the specifics like DI and aiming but i would say its easy to find a work around

I want to get my friend into this but its a lot to process (even though we are doing this mentally in a normal fighting game) with the Hud elements and such.
My hope is that an update adds some visual clarity for beginners. This would be amazing with sprites or something

I am absolutely in love with fighting games and have been following this game since it was leaked, I totally did not expect you to play it and I'm so happy!
Whiff and Burst canceles use BURST to cancel your moves. Free canceles are a toggle in the middle of the screen ("Free"). This allows you to still be able to do actions after missing an attack and it gets consumed when you use it. When you attack the other player it resets back to the original value.
Would love to see more of this!

Yomi is the art of reading the mind of the opponent
Its rock paper scissors followed by how long you can combo XD
free cancel makes it so that your attack doesn't have negative frame advantage during startup (before it hits)

You can turn on free at the bottom of your screen and it allows you to freely cancel moves if you want without using burst meter unlike whiff cancel.There is 2 charges to it as you can see at the top and i think they recharge over time.Also,the counter to burst is blocking and parrying it.
Robot might as well grab your healthbar and snap off 80% of it whenever he lands a grab, and god forbid he lands kill process

Whiff cancel spends your burst. Free cancel has to be used preemptively (but they return when anyone is hit)

The whiff cancel uses burst bar if you have enough burst bar you can use whiff so you should avoid using it sience bursting is like one of the only ways to escape combos and burst needs the full burst bar (the blue bar below hp)
