This video discusses issues I've had with the X-H2s AF system. These tests were done on 1.02 firmware, but have been retested on firmware 3.0. All my issues and suggested changes are still present.
Agree 100% both the x-h2 &s are broken. I have waited for firmware to fix AF in general and get it to detect and stick like it’s competitors. I’m giving Fuji one more firmware release to fix AF and the im selling my gear and watch them go off a cliff like Panasonic (until they fixed things like they did with the s5ii)
Нere's another bug: Exposure simulation switch is not saved in custom mode. I wanted to set up two custom modes for an event, flash on, and flash off. Could not do it. Fuji messed up again with custom modes. Why not just do it like everybody has been doing it for the last 10 years, no need to invent a wheel. For example, like they have it in cannot speedlites, save *all* settings to custom bank, say #1, and then recall by a single click of a button.
I've set the up and down on the d-pad to ISO and it's a life changer. I wish they'd allow you to set the function wheels independently, I'd love the front as ISO and the back as my SS. The ISO button is icky.
I’ve done the same thing. Much better than using the iso button. Would like to have the dial but this is good enough for me.
Thanks for your insight and being honest, hopefully those issues will be fixed in a firmware soon. I haven't noticed the issues on my part, but I use mine mostly for action photography and it's been amazing and I use it for video probably less than half the time. Loving this cam
Yeah, my video did kind of come across as ragging on the x-h2s. I absolutely love the images I've been able to capture with it. It's an incredible camera.
Images are great, stack sensor terrific - fix the damn AF fuji
Exactly! All camera companies should watch this video.. This is the main reason why Sony autofocus is so reliable. I’ve seen this confusion on the Nikon Z6ii, Fuji xt3, and the Lumix s5. Somehow, Sony’s autofocus is is so smart that it is able to detect what’s closest to the camera and then refocus on the face/eye instantly without changing any settings. This is key to getting a perfect and reliable autofocus, which all other companies are not understanding to nail.
All companies should hire people who know what they are doing...
Sony's detection and tracking are great. But autofocus ? For people running towards the camera, A7iv and 70 200 GM2, wide area AF : 70% of misfocused shots. Comes down to 30 % with spot tracking. Not something I would call reliable.
@@benoittissier58 Were there too many people? Isn't it more reliable to have the flexible tracking spot where you first decide what/who to lock-on instead of wide area? I haven't used Sony since a7iii so I'm not sure about the exact modes, but a friend of mine uses the a7iv with what I described.
So it's not just me! :P I just bought an XH2 and I believe I have the same issue. A+MF mode does not work as one thinks it should work. Most of my test shots were blurry, probably from still adjusting manual focus while the camera had moved back to C-AF. Also, swapping between face/eye ON/OFF and subject detect is so needlessly complex. I'm really hoping I don't have to return the camera. It's early days with Fuji so I'm still learning.
My question is on the fuji h2s. when I push the shutter all the way and its taking pictures, while I'm looking through the view finder, the picture enlarges and back to normal soon as I let of the shutter. What's causing that? I soot I shutter, and M is doing it in both., also, shooting in continuous.
Thx! Very informative! So it is not just me, it’s (also) the Fuji🙂
Hey Lucas. I’m on 3.0.1 and my top plate button is set to eye detect. My D pad up is set to animal. All I have to do is hit either and the one press switches me automatically. I’m not sure how I set mine up but it’s working well and quick.
I'm on X-H2s 3.0.0. And same thing, my top button is on eye detect and my d-pad down is on animal mode. When I hit either, it puts me in that mode instantly.
Can you please add a topic menu to be able to jump to the different issues of this camera you described?
Not sure which case is worse, but when i turn the aperture ring on a Fujifilm lens I expect the aperture to change. On my X-H2 there is no change unless I'm in A-mode on the PASM dial.
It makes no sense to have a lens with an aperture ring in manual mode that the camera completely ignores.
Face detection on this model has been upgraded to discriminate and not focus on ugly faces.
Why can’t I change focus mode to manual from afc on third party lenses through fringed ef-fx pro
I've tested this with the 24-105 EF using the EF-FX Pro Ii Fringer and the AF/MF switch successfully overrides to manual focus in photo and video and during recorded video. I wonder if it's the specific lens you're using or if your Fringer needs a firmware update?
Not a bug, it’s a side effect of not buying a x-t5
sick burn (:
I switched off within a minute because I’m not interested in the opinion of someone who clearly doesn’t understand the basic functions of a camera he’s about to complain about!
lol ok
if it helps the camera I'm holding isn't mine. My camera was filming and I have very different button configurations on my xh2s
