  • A Toronto 1-stop subway ride during morning rush hour. I then head north through the PATH up to Nathan Phillips Square in front of City Hall. I take the subway from King Station south to a very crowded Union Station.

I bet it felt really nice going through a morning rush knowing you can go back home and nap if you wanted instead of sitting at a desk for the next 8 hours.

This is exactly what a retiree does couple of times a week and what I was thinking watching people walking like a herd in that path, it is very good feeling don't have to be in this rat race going to an office probably with not good Boss sitting there for 8 hours counting the minutes to get out of that prison.

@m.h.7630 I'm one of those who is sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day. I was off of work for the weeks over Christmas and I couldn't wait to go back. I was bored and I wanted the routine back.

You need to try to live the freedom you will never go back, best feeling when I go in the rush hour morning and sit to have a coffee in the same place with the office people then they get up to go to their prison and I get up to go to my freedom maybe stroll in the nearby street or as you said go home to take a nap, no need to report to anybody or work with anybody that is freedom -:)@@Mike.T.

The ceilings are too low, the corridors are too narrow, and proportionally the people appear too big. Constant infrastructure updating is needed in this city!

Thank you for the tour Johnny. Walked the same streets & underground pass from 1989 to 1997 when I worked in downtown Toronto. Had a hotdog with colleagues at the City Hall in the summer. It is nice to see that these places have not changed.

I love your PATH walks. I haven't explored it in some 33 years when it was a much smaller path. I remember having to cross Bay St outside to get into the Simpson's building and onto the overpass into the Eaton Centre, so I'm guessing the eastern portion of the PATH hadn't been developed yet. I used to go after supper, so most of the shops were closed and it was pretty deserted apart from a few open restaurants and bookstores. I'd bet that none of the storefronts now were open back then. I think the PATH network is the biggest continuous underground mall in the world, though I believe the Montreal RESO network is larger, but disconnected.
