Most underrated comment I've seen so far.
Profile picture makes this comment 10x better
This made me laugh alot harder than it should've. Oh my gods..
Too soon
brilliant! Here, have an upvote.
Let’s be fair, not many of us are here for the Q&A, are we?
Noooooooooooooo.......
Nope
Q and what?
Nope
What else would we be here for??
At least we now know why Travis is the CEO... he is the only one with functional-adult-energy
*some functional adult energy
@@erisplaysgames There is a single braincell dedicated to adulting, and it's shared among the seven of them, rotating from person to person daily.
@@LuckyDragon289 Its the Dodec of Adulting.
Clearly you have not seen Travis singing Right Hand Man
He is baby
I can't remember where it was but i think they said travis was the CEO because he could intimidate people into getting things done when he wanted to XD
Matt and Marisa “do we know how to work a fireplace?”
DM “make an intelligence check?”
2
DM “Good news, your house doesn’t burn down.”
Fucking hell.. LMAO
They should change the title of this from “Fireside chat” to just “FIRE!!!”
But great animal handling though!
That moment when "Fireside Chat" turns into "Burning Questions"
Why isn't this pinned
pls pin
I could barely concentrate on the first 30 minutes. Just watching the smoke pour out of the fireplace, I grew up with wood fires and that's max danger
Marisha is channeling Keyleth as she fires off quick answers to hot questions in a fireside chat.
Then when they finish answering the question, they throw it into the fire and burn the paper it was written on.
0:57 "Silver lining! At home we get the use of a real fire!"
.
.
Morgan Freeman voice: "Marisha would soon come regret ever uttering these words."
The entire start of this is just ominous foreshadowing :p
Ron Howard, surely.
Is that Marisha's "we're gods... Splat" moment?
I love picturing Travis on the other end of the line just yelling, "SHUT IT DOWN AND GET IT FIXED, YOU'RE GOING TO DIE IF YOU DON'T!"
The fact that it was such a short phone call...it’s like, there’s only a few ways it could have gone. Him just screaming “FORGET THE STREAM - DEAL WITH THE FIRE.”
There's a reason they made him CEO, somebody has to be the adult.
I prefer to imagine it going like "As your friend, this is hilarious. As your CEO, PUT OUT THE FIRE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD"
@@damdamfino lmaoo
I think in a interview/podcast about it Travis said that he told her "Marisha stop streaming and put out the fucking fire" In a tone like a dad telling his daughter to put her toys away before going to bed.
The pure comedic timing of the alarm cutting off Marisha and then it saying "This alarm can't be silenced." I lost it XD This is why CR is the best. Forget regular streams. The candid weirdness that is CR cannot be tamed.
_"Cool!"_
XD
XD
I love your icon 🥺🥺🥺🥺
The greatest way to describe what later happens is the “This is fine” meme
My favorite moment is when Travis calls because his friends are being such dummies he can't take it anymore
"CUT THE STREAM AND THROW SAND ON IT. GET A POT AND PUT THE LOGS IN IT AND TAKE THEM OUTSIDE."
I might be paraphrasing.
when?
I immediately had flashbacks to Travis's "Laura is calling" moment from earlier in the campaign and just lost it at that moment, haha.
I think as CEO he has to make the call to allow to end the stream.
I can imagine him and Laura sitting watching the car crash and wondering why they haven't stopped the streaming going "What the FUCK? Stop streaming. Sort it out." and then not being able to take it anymore.
“I’m just hoping that the chimney doesn’t burn down.”
“Marisha...the chimney isn’t going to burn down.”
(Always Sunny in Philadelphia music)
“So, the chimney burned down”
I wanted to give a like but the 666 likes fits perfectly with the video
These comments never age well.
@@elbruces Whut? Did their house actually burn down at some point?
@@E2O10 No, I mean the "you're at this number" comments that I come across well after it's way past that number.

Marisha: We're gonna come back....
lmfaoooo
haha yeah I can imagine that conversation was something like "handle this now or shut this shit down" haha
"Marisha, stop streaming and put out the fucking fire."
petition to make that the default "technical difficulties" screen whenever the stream goes down
I really think there should be a new twitch emote too, dedicated to this wonderful time.

My two favorite moments in this video: 1. The room is filling with smoke, the bird is stealing focus, and Marisha’s attempts to work with the fire are also going to be distracting, but Matt is trying so hard to stay focused and just says, “The dunamancer...” in sheer exasperation. 2. The world is literally falling to pieces around him, and Matt realizes his bare feet might cause problems on Twitch and leaves TO PUT ON SLIPPERS.
the world is fallout Apart around you but it'll be fine as long as your wearing slippers and carrying a towel.
Marisha: "I'd like to build a fire in the fireplace", Matt: "You can certainly try...."

30:50 Text me Chris Lockey
31:32 Is the Echo Knight meant to have endless uses of it's ability to summon an Echo per turn?
32:35 Did you feel pressured to get the true identity of the Traveler out in the game before the book was released since it does it in the book?
33:17 When designing world maps, do you base it on real world continent shapes and work from there, or do you pick a random shape and go for it?
33:51 Bye Dagon
36:57 Lockey strikes back
37:59 What can you tell us about the origins of the river inferno in Eiselcross, and if it is connected to the Plane of Fire, are the Fire Ashari aware or concerned about it?
40:21 I love the lore you and the team have managed to scatter throughout the book; when establishing the creation myth and how the Luxan factored in, is there any material that ended up getting cut for space/mystery?
43:27 Dagon wants to be heard
44:07 What was it like working with outside writers and and having them help shape the world that you've been so close to and you built?
45:34 Dunemancy spells are too fun to hold back, do you have any suggestive lore on why or how non-wizard classes might gain access to these awesom spells?
47:57 How many rules are there?
48:11 McCree's freckles
48:28 The guide has a delightful variant of Orcs that feels to mechanically bring them in line with the guide's worldbuilding of Orcs as no more inherently evil than any other race. What was the process, struggles and joys of reconciling the mechanics to that story?
51:26 Matt's Disney Crush
52:32 Dagon agrees
52:44 I'm curious about the change to the Cobalt Soul in the book vs what's been shown on the livestream. Is it a network of libraries or archives? Is there public access to the Cobalt Soul or is it by appointment only since monks have to be there to observe patrons?
56:51 Feeding Dagon
58:11 There's some uncertainty about what the Echo Knight can do; for example, help with sneak attack or flanking, grapple, fly, climb, swim, be affected by certain spells/abilities that specify an object/creature etc. Can you shed some light on the design intent?
59:51 Why the constitution focus for Echo Knights?
1:01:12 Dagon's seed
1:01:18 To what degree did player choices early in the campaign influence the writing of the campaign setting?
1:03:07 Is the Prime Material Plane the only one on our side of the Divine Gate?
1:03:24 The book says the Raven Queen lives in the Shadowfall, but that's on the wrong side of the Divine Gate isn't it?
1:05:15 Dagon No!
1:05:38 How much do the Volstruckers know about the Augen Trust? Does the Augen Trust have agents in the Volstruckers or vice-versa?
1:07:35 Dagon's priorities
1:07:59 Due to their rivalry with the Cerberus Assembly, does the Cobalt Soul have it's own setup for magical research and development?
1:09:18 Dagon comes climbing back
1:11:00 Do the Volstruckers as a unit specialize in the same type of magic or do they each have their own specialties?
1:11:52 Any lore details on these Pallid Elves?
1:13:59 Can you give any details on the relationship between the Pallid Elves and the Lotus Den Halflings?
1:14:43 Come on Dagon
1:15:26 Everything is fine
1:17:18 Another treat for Dagon
1:17:45 Is there a specific colour scheme associated with the Cerberus Assembly that Archmages wear or do they have a uniform?
1:20:56 How much trade exists between Tal'Dorei and Wildemount? Considering the prominence of Stilben being on the coast sharing a trade route with the Clovis Concord islands, why is Stilben so small?
1:25:12 I've always been curious about how you come up with names for places (like Exandria, Tal'Dorei, Wildemount); What is your process for creating new names? Do you go with what sounds nice or do you look at real-world names for inspiration?
1:29:33 So consecution can cause a sort of insanity. Is Essek aware of this, and if he is did it factor into his reasons for giving the beacon to the Cerberus Assembly for research?
1:30:28 HE LIED?!!
1:30:44 If a consecuted creature would be executed by the Dynasty, do they have a way to unconsecute a soul to make sure that soul isn't reborn?
1:33:10 Do consecuted souls show personality traits from their past lives before anamnesis? Does the meditation ritual happen over time? Does it erase the person who was there before to make room for the consecuted soul?

So coming from a colder climate, one reason a lot of smoke might have gone into the house is there was no air suction. In the winter when you have a fire burning, the cold air draws the smoke outwards and thus also pulls a draft to continue the fire to burn. In the summer it becomes more difficult to have a fire indoors because that draft doesnt occur since it is much warmer outside. Without this draft, smoke tends to go whereever it wants, aka filling your house. Stay safe everyone!!!

Somewhere in the D&D verse, Caleb is hyperventilating into a bag at this moment after waking up with this as his dream.

Fun story, I was watching this wearing my headphones and did not notice that my own home smoke alarm was going off. Nothing bad happened, but there was a moment where my nose was kinda itchy and I was wondering if my allergies were acting up or if my brain was playing tricks on me and just thinking that it smelled smoke. Room mate ended up burning a loaf of bread nearly all the way through in the oven, lol.
The Traveler loved this video I guarantee.
"At home we can use a real fire..." *curb your enthusiasm theme plays*
"and we're back"... kicks microphone over
"Our house still smells like a campfire"
Is what you'll be saying for the next month, if you're lucky
I absolutely love that smell though. It’s cuddly and warm and satisfying. I would love for my home to smell that way. (Disclaimer no monkey’s paw bullshit)
there's a comedic style where things aren't going smoothly and it's funny. when you try too hard it's not. when it's natural, the comedy intensifies. the "smoke alarm shuffle" was comedy gold. thanks for sharing it with us. also congrats on the book. that's some official OG lore now. what would kid matt think of that?
"There are no rules, man..."
"Yes there are."
"There are very few rules, man..."
Matt & Marisha: Having an actual Fireside Chat
The Fire: I'm about to end their whole career
lmao xD
Their whole lives**
the genius that caused them to come back after the "technical difficulties" looking as if they had almost burned to a crisp! marisha smashing the crazy hair, matt's pyjama trousers.... we are blessed by these people
My favorite thing about this video?
How Dagon, the bird, gives little "love kisses" to Matt with her beak, and goes to "Mama Marisha" for extra treats.
Those are the little moments I love between pets and their owners -- and the fact that it's an extra layer to prominent members of this D&D community we have, gives it just that little cherry on top. 😄
Note: Just saying, I nominate Dagon for "Meta Parrot" in Matt's campaigns.
Probably one of the best streams ever. The chaos is delightful. But also the adorable birb, the fire alarms, the two of you being adorable and a chat about the awesome new book. It felt like we wer allowed to visit for tea and a conversation, that's exactly what I needed right now.
I feel the same.
@@gilberthjimenez431 I'm glad they're doing well. A sense of community is so important right now
"This is fine" -- Marisha and Matthew in the house, probably
Smoke alarm: This is NOT fine
Marisha's laugh (and Marisha as a whole) is so cute, help
two of the lead designers in crit role struggling at home economics but still in full commitment to continue the stream. you gotta love such people
Matt and Marisha: This is fine...Everything is fine
Sorin Markov fine is just one little longer line than fire
Travis: STOP THE STREAM AND PUT OUT THE FIRE
In the next Everything is Content, they get to make good friends with the LA Fire Department.
I'm not going to lie, I wanted a firefighter to walk in through their open door. 😂
The problem is not setting the house on fire. The problem is poisoning yourself to death with smoke gases...
Make it happen
"Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused." And neither shall we, CR... I love the genuine humanity found here.
1:04:52
Dagon: *MY TIME HAS COME*
*MISSION IMPOSSIBLE THEME PLAYS*
I just love the Dagon: Hey buddy
Matt: Hey buddy
Marisha: Hey buddy
I just imagine them doing subconsciously while eating or watching tv
if anyone else wanted the timestamp 28:47
What, are you supposed to just ignore someone when they greet you?
As a fellow birb person, it is second nature to talk with your bird family members. Matt was even chirping along with Dagon. 😊
What we have here 27:30 is a perfect example of why they made Travis the CEO. Btw thank you M&M and crew for making this video. We honestly appreciate it :)
Yup
Its because travisis CEO that he made that called tho, he has the responsibility to decide if the stream continues or not.
@@SoDaoudi yeah I know :)
The "Technical Difficulties" screen made me burst out laughing.
This gave me so much serotonin im really glad this live didnt go as planned because damn I laughed so much and it was great.
Dagon is the most responsible participant of that Q&A.
Dagon is trinket IRL
@@danielboatright8887 or Kiri
Dagon is their Kenku cleric that keeps them from disaster.
He's the only one keeping a watchful eye on the fire
On the next episode of fireside chat: Matt and Marisha install their newly delivered electric fireplace!
OMG, please for the love of all things good, no! Hire a contractor! Nothing against Matt and Marisha, they're awesome people, but some people just don't have a mechanical aptitude. Something tells me it would not be pretty to watch the two of them try to assemble and install their own electric fireplace.
Or to clarify, they're both so talented I bet either could do it on their own. However, watching them work together is like giving two ADHD kids a project to work on together, then giving one of them a set of purple tinted eyeglasses.
Matt: "I should have worn slippers so I don't break the Twitch TOS..."
Me: "There's a Twitch TOS about Matt's feet?!?!? What happened?!?!"
Thank you! I seriously want to know.
@@wirelesstkd it's not Matt specific. Just a general rule on Twitch that you can't show feet. For the fetishists and stuff.
Fun fact: you also can't stream sleeping.
this whole video is just a real life version of the "this is fine" meme
you know the saying: "where theres smoke, theres fireside chat."
That's the most Brian W Foster thing I've ever heard
My mind legit read this in BWF's voice
You're goddamn right...
@@OGDanteZero DBZA and Critical Role. Not the crossover we deserve, but one we definitely need XD
I swear I could hear Travis on the phone saying: "turn the f-in stream off and put the f-in fire out, NOW".
I love how Matt just gives up and marisha still being like I got this
I think your "fireside chat" has just turned into "burning questions"
Marisha: 'Normally our fireside chats don't have REAl fire, because of studio codes..
Matt: 'But at home..'
Marisha: 'But at home we get the use of a real fire..'
Matt: 'We can do what we want!'
So how did that work out for you guys 😅
Rebecca Mergler and now we know why codes exist 🤣
I thought Matt was actually capable of higher brain functions unlike the rest of them but I stand corrected.
@@FoxHound-ut1hu where in the nerdy ass voice actor skill set is the skill of knowing how to properly set a safe fire?
Fox Hound1878 He uses all his higher brain function for DMing, this is all he’s left with normally XD
There's A LOT of unintentional f(j)oreshadowing in the first few minutes.

I came for the Dungeons & Dragons. I stayed for the cute birb.
Please make that "technical difficulties" screen a permanent feature on the channel, because it is great!! :-)
With the missing credit for the drawing, it makes me think someone within the company drew it
It's second only to the Achievement Hunters technical difficulty screen and just barely.
@@justincaviness Yeah I was imagining their technical difficulties music during that xD
In my head I heard the Holy Grail intermission music.
The comedic timing of the fire alarm is unmatchable 🔥🔥🔥
