Yeah, the back tires were holding 1000 pounds combined and it was trying to push the other 1200 pounds of engine (exaggeration) and 500 pounds of frame that is hating it's life!
Why build such an amazing car to go such a short distance? Long live the 1320!!!!! I've raced for 40 years and I've never done any runt racing. Why spend 100,000+ to go 600 feet?
First...Many tracks, like this one, only have room for a 200MPH car in its shutdown area...not 250MPH,,second,many tracks are only 8th mi. tracks anyway..like this one.. third, many tracks can only get insurance for an 8th mile event, fourth,it's estimated that the amount of breakage and accidents are X 3 of an 1/8th race...meaning down time and no show cars. Get over it.
Never really see too much of this car, and when u do it always has dramas.. the potentials definitely there thou. Could be a 5sec car in the right hands
Yeah with a screw blower up front on methanol your lookin at around 8 horsepower per cubic inch, 8,000 horsepower😱 In Top Fuel trim (nitro methane) your looking at between 20 to 23 horsepower per cubic inch, thats 20,000 to 23,000 horsepower😱😱😱
I can only imagine how the atmosphere would vibrate with a 1,000+ cubic inch Top Fuel engine. Almost scary to think about considering current top fuel engines are limited to 500 cubic inches.
What was the run? Better question, what the hell even came off? Can't be a wheel, looks like one! Thought it was the laundry at first, but then starts bouncing like a helmet or something
Dude there's no such thing as a drag car with 120ci making 1200hp. F1 cars produce 1,000 hp at 98ci, which definitely makes it possible, but I haven't heard of a 120ci drag car making that much. Does it actually exist tho?
Most dragsters are best at straight-line speed. This one's specialty is squiggly-line speed.

There's torque steer, and then there's this. That is one terrifying block you got there! She's perfect as she is!
dude must have browned his shorts when it knocked the tires off
Slopped 'em...
Nasty sounding engine.

@@brianmathew09 found the guy who can't drive more than 600 feet

660ft, the first 60ft you forgot about it the most important
Youll never understand until you feel it for yourself
Put this engine in a sleeper wagon from the 70's and look for supercars to absolutely crush.
Hmm wonder why that station wagon sounds like a monster truck
It wouldnt crush the super car it would send them into the gap between the dimensions
Sonny ain't playin!! Hope this finds a living legend in good health 7 yrs after this video was made...
THAT THING'S A BEAST!!!
Soooo muchhh powerrr
Well back to the Drawing Board 😂
Where do you find a 1005 cu engine block that will fit in a Camaro?
I wanna see forced induction on this engine in a monster truck.
Not sure about monster-trucks, but several truck-pull teams use blown mountain-motor BBCs by (hero) Sonny Leonard.
"BBC"
Well they are supercharged...
This pro mod is not supercharged. It's N/A on methanol 2,100 horsepower.
Just put to 118mm turbos on it... i bet 6500 hp
Nothing came off the car it was a foam timing marker they have on the track
Put that in a '51 Hudson Hornet...then go looking for NSX's and other well, car that may now be radioactive....
So my question since the 70’s...where does it end? Remember when funny cars broke 200? Now it can be done during drag week after 150 mile drive.
Or in 660'
Why does it have to end
@@wadebordelon7286 well not end but where is the limit?
@@benduncan3930 I know it's crazy but in a good way, but really waiting to see what's next

My god I thought the biggest engine was a Chevy 632
Same asf
Rip sonny
You guys are all 'Millenials'
Imagine that with a little nitrous lol
Brennan turbocharger? :) Twin? quad?
@@Creeperboy099 at that power output it will melt the exhaust turbines. Twin-screw supercharger all the way.
Richard Harrold Jeez, how hot must the exhaust be?

Would that be around 16 liters since 500 cubes are 8.1
What did the car eject to the left 9f the track?
Daaaamn , i want so bad that engine.
Jason Dorne yore the badass now
Jason Dorne lol
TRY THEM TYRES THEY USE ON MINING TRUCKS. THAT WAY IT WONT SLIP
Would be funny to see the car body just spin around rear axle and go nowhere.
Put that engine in a Smart Car lol
that engine is about as big a smart car 😂😂😂
how to make your car do a backflip 101
That damn thing would be wrote off
That thing is bigger than a smart car
What flew off at 0:27 ?
He mite need a new pair of jocks after that
Looks like he lost his helmet.
damit he was to fast or bad lane choice
2000hp NA
What was the run? Better question, what the hell even came off? Can't be a wheel, looks like one! Thought it was the laundry at first, but then starts bouncing like a helmet or something
Ike Eisenhower it's just a foam marker block that sits between the lanes
Hey, thanks, pal. Most of the time I'm not trackside for shit like that, I'm a builder, they don't get us tickets unless we crawl!
If we can make 1200hp drag cars at 120inches, why do we need 1000+ inches to make 2000hp?
Americans still don’t understand what they’re doing wrong.

I think his helmet blew off watch it again and look at right side of track.
he hit the timing marker on the track
The real replacement for displacement is Boost buddy
Yeah but this engine also makes 2,000hp NA boost is only as good as the amount of surface area it has to act on
@@geniusatwork12 what surface area are you talking about
Turbos are for pussies, nothing like naturally aspirated!
From what I can calculate, this engine is 1001 ci.
ABOlsen80X With a 5.220 bore and 5.875 stroke I show 1005.84. One of us is off.
He might of overpowered the chassis.
