  • Make a table runner start to finish using a quilt-as-you-go technique. It's great for beginners. Use scraps that evoke memories of days gone by.
The runner measures about 12" x 42". Detailed instructions for making and sewing binding to any quilted project are included.
    You'll need:
Scraps of fabric for the top at least 13" wide. I used 10 different fabrics.
    Backing Fabric: 3/8 yd, .4m
    Binding: 1/4 yd, .25 m
Pellon Fusible Thermolam Plus - a fusible fleece: 3/8 yd, .4m

This is the most comprehensive video to ensure a squared up product. That is usually where my weakness lies. Thank you for making it all so explicitly do-able. 😊

As a novice quilter that has always been afraid to do her own binding, this was the best explanation and demonstration I've ever seen! Thank you for making it less scary!

You are most welcome. My quilting neighbour showed me this technique about 20 years ago and it has never failed me. I'm glad the two of us could help. Pass it on like she did!

That is a beautiful runner. It was the best teaching method
I have ever seen and I have watched a lot of videos. I have been quilting for years and have struggled with attaching the ends of the binding to join them together. You made it so clear. Thankyou and I am a new subscriber.

Leaving a little bit of a tail overlapping the edges and then using those tails to square up with the grid to keep things straight and square is a really valuable suggestion! Thank you.

I appreciate your demonstration and enjoy learning different methods. This is the first time I have learned to draw a 1/4" line at the corners. Thank you, I will give it a try!

I like the way you do the binding by connecting the ending first before starting sewing. Will try your technique next time. Thank You!❤

Thank you Brenda. Loved the detailed explanations along with the video. It was a great review for minding. I sometimes speed adhesive with a smaller project but now remember to take the time as if a quilt for a table runner that will lay nice snd flat

Sure! It's my Mom's old kitchen table chalk painted. I used leg risers for the extra height. Here's what they look like: www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/square-bed-risers-black-5-2-in-4-pk-0460783p.0460783.html?loc=plp

Hi Kathy. It took a couple of seconds to start but seems okay from my end. Hopefully it's okay for you later. I had not closed the UA-cam upload, maybe that was the problem.

why did you waste so much fabric on your strip at the beginning?

    • @amongbrendasquiltsbags5408
      @amongbrendasquiltsbags5408  10 місяців тому

I think I just happened to have a rather long strip, likely from scrap, that I used for the first strip. The strips just need to extend beyond the batting edges.
