    I disagree with your conclusion. You got full expansion passing through 2 layers of clothing and ballistic gel. This has been my main carry ammo since 2009. It runs well in my kimber and ive seen it immediately drop a 75 pound rabid bull dog. Between this round and the critical duty are good choices. Thank for the video and if you find anything that performs better post it.

    I have a legit question. You can't have everything can you? If you were to get 16" on penetration from the side through two layer of heavy clothing and an "arm" gel block dont you think a chest or back shot you over penetrate and have little "stopping power" ( I quoted that because we all know the term) so do you think you can have the best of both worlds for a chest and side shot? I would like to see both tests side by side.

    The 45 doesn’t get a fair shake. I hear alot of people say the 9mm +p with new bullet technology and powders perform just as well if not better.
    But that’s because they are comparing apples and oranges. That new hollow point tech doesn’t work with 230 grain bowling ball’s.
    What does work is the lehigh extreme defenders. Try the 135 grain Underwood +p stuff against any 9mm. Old 230 grain bullets are fine for Geneva uses and if you had to use fmj’s and the 9mm with new tech will out perform it. But you once you get away from old slow ball ammo and start using newer designs moving 135 grains at 1400fps and faster. There’s simply no comparison. It’s reliable, it’s accurate, it penetrates, and it moves fluid. It actually made me go all in on the 45. Also if you reload, you can get the 120 grain and 135 grain stuff to move pretty quick with short barrels using w244 and silhouette and reducing recoil over a 230 +p.

    Mr. Loca Carnivore. Does Gold Dot feed in your Mil-Spec reliably enough to be trusted for a defensive pistol?

    That was interesting. All that fabric it dragged in might even plug the wound and slow or stop the bleeding.

    This is my carry ammo in my XD-M 3.8. Your penetration numbers are crap, and you seem to be the only person in existence that has had this problem with this round.
    Cloth grabbing, has nothing to do with it. Its the size of the hollow point cavity causing rapid expansion. By your theory, legitimate tests would show more penetration in bare gel, than a heavy clothing test, and it's always the opposite.
    Thank God we have people like Tools&Targets that can properly test bullets, and not just put on a long, boring, 💩 show! Give this a thumbs down 👎

    Data and facts? Have you been in combat? Your fancy gel isnt flesh and bone. You can look at data and your little gel all day Mr. FUDD. I have seen what the .45 does … youre a goofie

      He wants more than 18 plus inches of penatration. Most all hp ammo from any manufacturer is designed not to penetrate more than 18 inches.

      @@jgranger2002 In this particular scenario, yes. Which is just what the FBI wants since Miami '86. Their standard is 12 -18 inches, with 14 - 16 optimal, for the exact reason of the cross torso shot. Thanks for watching.

    Idk about how you assume your not only shooting g a 300 lb dude, in the dead of freezing cold winter, with lots of clothing(even though he's big), and a side through the arm transverse shot? Hopefully that never happens😅😂🙄

    What is best for a LW with aluminum ramp?

    • @locacarnivore900
      @locacarnivore900  6 місяців тому +1

      There is no cookie cutter answer for this. You just have to try different loads and see which ones feed. 1911s can be finicky with different bullet profiles and overall cartridge length. Also, I don't run +P ammo in alloy framed 1911s--too much stress on them. They have durability problems enough with standard ammo as it is. Thanks for watching. Check out the review I did on the Ronin LW "Commander."

    185 +P Golden Sabers get 15"-16" penetration in real tests. Just give this a thumbs down and move on.
