  • Rut week this year was definitely different, but no surprise right, it's 2020! It was one of the hottest hunt weeks ever with temperatures steady in the mid 80's all day and low's only hitting mid 60's! Regardless, doe's went into hiding but we were able to pick off three nice bucks that were on the move looking for the girls. Time to start preparing for next year!
    God Bless!

    What's going on HH? I hope all is well with you and the family, this is just a friendly reminder that we are having withdrawals not seeing any of your DIY's and like to see that update on that lithium battery pack. Also your vehicle warranty might be ending soon also 🤪🤣 be safe and hope to hear from you soon.

      Hey brother! Thanks for the message. The family is great and we’ve all been crazy busy with life. I haven’t been back to the farm in a while and my “to do” list is piling up on things I need to build. Hope to get back to some action real soon. Take care and thanks for checking in!

    Man I'm jealous. Buddy and I went to the ranch Thanksgiving week for our annual hunt and one of us brought a special 2020 gift of corona ... and sadly not the liquid kind. So hunt got canceled. Going to have to try again in December.

      Awh man, so sorry to hear that! Corona has messed up a lot of good things this year. I wish you much success on your next try!!! Keep me updated!

    I’m putting this here so you might see it. But, linear voltage regulators are very inefficient. With 12v in and 6v out they lose half the power. That’s cause amps in = amps out. V x amps = watts.
    Buy a few of these cheap Buck Converters on eBay. Like $1 each. They only lose about 10% of power. Get one with variable voltage input (say 4v to 24v). Set the output to desired voltage. These decrease the voltage and increase the amps. Get one rated at 2 amps.
    On linear regulators say the solar panel output is 17 volts and the output voltage is 6v. 6/17 = 35% efficiency. Your losing 65% of your power.

      Thank you! UA-cam glady threw your comment in the spam file because you mentioned Rumble. Had I not looked I’d have never seen it. I’ve been seriously considering Rumble but just not sure many hunters are over there yet? I hate these communists at UA-cam. I deleted Twitter, Fox and all cable. Are you finding outdoor stuff on Rumble?

      I’ll try to pull something together next time Im at the farm. I have a couple videos on building a new cab for my other tower if you want to look those up. That cab allows for bow hunting and better weather protection. Hope that helps.

      It’s a mix of Tractor Supply Oats, Arrowleaf Clover, Durana Clover, Patriot Clover, a few cowpeas and trophy radish. We got good rain after planting this year so everything popped.

    Hey Mat,
    Do you think the size of the racks on you deer is contributed to the forge you provided them, and if so about how long do you think after you started planting food plot did you see a diferente on the quality of deer you had in your property?
    Thanks

    • @TheHandyHunter
      @TheHandyHunter  Рік тому

      A lot goes into the size of their racks. Quality forage plays a big part and also genetics. Our deer prefer quality plots over corn feeders etc, but we do both. We also plant summer and fall plots so they have food year round and keeps them in the area. A good quality deer management program will take a couple years to start seeing results. That is, if you can keep your neighbors from shooting them too early! Good luck!!
