  • Trail cam stands come in handy for hunters hoping to get pictures of wildlife activity in food plots or other open areas where trees may not be accessible for mounting. My latest trail camera stand is more like a trail camera stake which makes it very easy to move around in desired locations. The spikes on the bottom of the base make this stand very sturdy against wind and animals. This trail cam stand is completely self sustaining with a 1.5watt solar panel that charges the LifePo4 battery in an enclosed box. I built this trail camera stake with many adjustments to accommodate trail camera size and tilt angle. All the power is attached to the hood, both solar panel and battery, to make maintenance easier in the future. This dual cam stand is great for catching movement across roads, food plots, and open woods. I've built many versions of trail cam stands in the past but this model includes all the upgrades over time. I looking forward to capturing some great videos with this new setup.

    Great idea. I live in a sandy land sometime later the ground can be like cement. Thought about your idea to put in five gallon bucket with cement and just move it around. I am. It a welder. Thanks for your videos.

    Looks great. Can’t wait to see some pictures. See how well it works for shading the cameras when the sun is overhead

    Steve good video as always. Have you had a chance to test out the EIOT sim cards in any of your cell cams yet? If so which ones are they compatible with?

    • @TheHandyHunter
      @TheHandyHunter  Рік тому

      I only run Bigfoot cell cams and just upgraded to the 4g version. I stuck with the SIM card that came in them since it included the cloud fee as well. I haven’t tried the EIOT card in any of them but don’t see why they wouldnt work. You might want to experiment with their starter package, I think they give you a little data when you buy it for $5, to see if it works ok. Good luck and let me know!

    Where Winter produces SNOW, the panel/hood needs to be angled to work during winter! * Where's your NEW 4G BF Trail Cams???

    • @TheHandyHunter
      @TheHandyHunter  Рік тому +1

      Good point. If I dealt with snow, I would build a screw bracket on one end of the solar panel to give it as much angle as you need.

    Great idea but what do you do with the antenna on a cell camera ?? Any remote antenna?

    • @TheHandyHunter
      @TheHandyHunter  Рік тому

      You can slide the cam mount down far enough to get the antenna under the hood or you can kind of tilt the antenna forward. You can also run an antenna extension and mount on top of the hood if needed.

    Cool idea. I really like your camp pattern that you put on it. Are you going to upload any food plot videos this year?

    • @TheHandyHunter
      @TheHandyHunter  Рік тому

      Thank you! Are you looking for videos on foodplots as I plant or after they are up?

    • @billhickman4826
      @billhickman4826 Рік тому

      @@TheHandyHunter I enjoy both, seeing how you plant and then what your plots look like. Also enjoy how you typically do things on the cheaper and don't spend a whole lot like most hunting shows.

      Sounds good! I’ll be planting later this week so maybe I’ll do some filming! Stay tuned!

    Is the jam bolt on the coupler strong enough to support 2 cameras or does it slip over time? What size bolt did you use?

    • @TheHandyHunter
      @TheHandyHunter  Рік тому

      It won’t slip at all! I used 1/4 in bolt that fit the threads in the coupler. Works perfectly. Good luck.

    What Browning trail camera model are you using?

    • @TheHandyHunter
      @TheHandyHunter  9 місяців тому

      In this video I’m using old BigFoot cell cams that I’m just using as trail cams. I’m having trouble finding a Browning I like. The old Bownings were the best but the new ones are not like the old.

    That Hood won't work with antennas! Only Non-Cellular Cams, right?

    • @TheHandyHunter
      @TheHandyHunter  Рік тому +2

      Sure it willl…thats why I made the camera height adjustable so you can lower it down for the antena. You could also install an extended antenna and run it up on top of the hood.

    Is this a different lithium battery? Looks smaller than the previous builds

    • @TheHandyHunter
      @TheHandyHunter  10 місяців тому

      Yep, this is a little 12v pack I build using LifePo4 solar batteries. Works good in full sun areas where you dont need a lot of energy storage.

    How do you do the attana?

    • @TheHandyHunter
      @TheHandyHunter  9 місяців тому

      You can either lower the cam mount downward until it fits or tilt the antenna forward…both will work.

    Disliked because of the very negative political ad that started the clip. Probably not his fault.

      Unfortunately, I don’t have any control over the ads they run. Hopefully, it wasn’t an ad promoting some degenerate communist liberal.
